"Everyone's got 'em and it's important that you have your own as well." But Mikko's already got 'em. Your signature Amped Roots plug-in as well as Iconic. Dat 'Brown Sound' preset...NAILED it! P.S. My man Kyle Bull is gonna LOVE this plug-in!
All of the amp sims are gonna be captured differently, and every amp that's captured is going to be a little different. The plugins do all sound similar, but not the same. That alone is a good reason to have so many of them. You can pick the one you like best.
out of all the ones i’ve tried personally, this has had the best out of the box tones. you could literally track guitars for something professional with this just how it’s set up. and like other 5150 sim’s, the stock cabs aren’t garbage
Still holding out for a Peavey XXX amp sim. Used to have one, and it was such a stellar amp until after years and years it literally caught on fire and I had to get rid of it. Man, I still miss that amp...
I'm sad they didn't include a Fredrick Nordstrom angled mic setup for the classic studio Fredman tones. Seems like this would have been a perfect platform for this.
You can angle the mics. Not right right next to each other on the same speaker, but you can angle one and keep to other straight on and approximate it.
can you switch between presets quickly, like map say space bar to jump between presets or do I have to manually click them, because it seems like he has tones down but usability is a bit weak.
If it wasn't for how much CPU ML amp sims take up on my DAW (even on lite mode), I'd record with these all the time. Unfortunately, unless my laptop is charging, they dime out the CPU and I have to resort to using other amp sims. With that being said, I'm still planning to get this if not for the mere fact that I can jam with them in my off time. Just can't double track with them for a full mix without issues unless I get a new computer/processor that can handle the CPU load of these plugins.
@@sqlb3rn I actually have that plugin. Might have to compare it to the trial version of this plugin and see how it stacks up. I've actually been getting some pretty good tones out of it as of late with different cab IRs I've been running through the plugin.
I feel like we should go in the other direction get like a peavey rage or a spider 3 😂 Yes i know there's captures with tonex, neural, quad cortex etc but im talking an amp sim made by a company
It's mental to me that people still think the block letter and the signature are two different things. It's just Sylvania tubes vs the closest Chinese tubes they could find.
Tried it. Not a fan. Has a really fizzy high end. However some of the cleans are nice. But not enough for me to wanna buy especially since that Spiritbox one dropped.
Im not gonna be the guy to say they didnt need to make this plugin but i do have one thing to say... didnt they already make this plugin? Amped roots fluff 5151. Is that not a block letter also? All that being said, there must be a difference. Soooo whats the difference?
I’m gonna assume it is similar if not the same. The thing with this one is it’s a sim of the whole amp as opposed to roots where it’s just the distortion channel. I’ll note too blockletter has a resonance control where Roots did not. Not to mention it has the 6505 in it too which is similar but not completely the same to the 5150. I’d say this is a product for people who want access to the whole 5150 amp and not just the distortion. They did do the same thing too with the Dual Rec and Friedman amp but, just like this one those are sims of the whole amp while roots only has the distortion channel of the dual rec and Friedman
@@CloudburstStudio that is a fair point. I saw that it had the clean channels as well. I kinda giggled to myself and said "but why? Its a terrible clean channel." But to be fair, that is just my opinion. I cannot speak for the masses. I'm sure its a perfectly wonderful clean channel for tons of people. But yeah I definitely didn't put it all together just yet, you're totally right. The roots plug-ins only have the dirty channels while the amps they are modeling do in fact have more to offer than just a dirty channel. So now all of a sudden this 5555 makes a lot more since to me as a release. Thanks for chiming in with that revelation. Lol
@@LucasLeCompteMusic oh just to throw a tiny bit on insight on the subject of the 5153 el34 if you or anyone else is interested at all. I have the 100 watt version of the real 5153 el34 amp. I also have an engl 412 pro cab. I have made ir's of my cab in my most used mic positions. I then loaded my ir's into the fluff roots 5153 and I a/b the 2. Yes they sound a bit different but I can absolutely achieve the same results with the plugin that I can with my real amp. I'm not sure on this next part so don't quote me here. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I believe the roots 5153 is based on the 50 watt model. Honestly please someone let me know if this is correct or not. Its been rattling around in my head for a while. Would like to know i got my info correct.
It's a good amp, hell even a great amp. But it's not the end-all-be-all that people think it is. I'd argue the best amp imo is a plug-in, the Nolly Archetype from Neural DSP

Fluff’s Clean Tone is truly one of the clean tones of all time.
I will never tire of this
Such a little thing but im so happy someone finally brought up BFMV in a video like this lol. Absolute fav band
AILD used the Peavey 6505+ on their newest album "Shaped by Fire"

If it has anythinv to do with a 5150, 6505 or 6505+ than the answer is always YES

I think the Josh Middleton suite has that?
@@justin8827 indeed it does.
What did you overuse it and fry the transformer? Triple XXX's are Peavey's underdog amp.

Never enough 5150 sims
How about the 'new' Audio Assault amp locker? They added a 6505+ a dual rec and a 59 Marshall (Plexi).
Yeah! I want to see also how it compares to STL Amphub's...
this thing and tipple rev G is amazing

But how is this different from the Roots 5150?
Show us how to get Ends guitar tone with a plugin
