"Hiccups". I beg your pardon, Emily? Twenty two people are killed in Lebanon as part of a flagrant violation of the ceasefire by Israel. Twenty two hiccups presumably... "To put it mildly" says Emily. Is that in your job description as a DW journalist? Deutsche Welle: Putting it mildly.
Let's say there's a violation. Do you think it appropriate for a country's government and army to let its citizens march towards an enemy country's military units unprotected? Since when do you send civilians to the front lines to make way for the army?
@@lforlight Your comment about "appropriateness" is noteworthy for completely dodging the question of whether "hiccups" is an appropriate term to describe a massacre of 22 civilians. PS As for your "let's say there's a violation" (and, hey, move on already) comment, in point of fact there wasn't "A violation". @@robertmusil5831 CNN reports a lot of nonsense. The ceasefire deal clearly says Israel and Lebanon both maintain the right to protect themselves from dangers to their respective security. Israel saw Hezbollah continue to operate, so it dealt with it. It's not a violation. If Lebanon feels like the IDF is posing a threat, it may send its military to try and fight off the IDF. It doesn't do that. It apparently sends its civilians.
@@lforlight Yes of course. I forgot about the well-known "pro-Arab bias" of CNN. Meanwhile, you are doing an excellent job of making Hezbollah's case for them by highlighting the incompetence of the Lebanese military. Carry on.

@lforlight depends on what you mean by official, if you mean Netanyahu, then no, he has not outright said that displacing the Palestinians was part of the war aims (duh), however multiple Israeli ministers have called for it, and to be frank, the policies of the IDF seem to have the "make sure these animals never come back" sentiment written all over them, destroy agricultural lands, demolish all buildings, hospitals, mosques, anywhere people take refuge, etc etc. After all actions speak louder than words.

They weren't fighting Israel, they were fighting money and weapons from the US and Europe. Without that Israel would collapse. Plus the Iron Dome for protection while Gaza had none. Hardly an equal fight!
