There is a difference. Anyone holding public office puts their family as well as their self a target of violence. If we do not make it an example of it, we might not have a government. It is common sense that closed minded people cannot see.

Possibly because there wer no witnesses. This assault was witnessed by two police officers. Throw in breaking and entering, kidnapping and intention to kidnap and assault another person in addition to fracturing Paul Pelosi's skull in front of police.
