The more I watch Gilligan's Island, the more I love Alan Hale, Jr.! So genuine, sweet and full of life! He seemed like he would be such a joy to work with! Tina Louise and Alan seemed to have a genuine affection for each other on the show.
I think it was at the age of 55 that Alan Hale. JR. Was was awarded Senior Citizen of the year in Los Angeles County. Rightful honor to this great man. It is amusing that 55 was considered a senior back then.
rac717 Thanks for viewing and the comments. Glad to hear that you and your granddaughter enjoy Gilligan's Island. I was an original viewer and still love the show and doing all these videos. I guess we all have our favorites. Mine was the Skipper and Ginger.
rac717 I would have to say the Professor was definitely hotter thank Mary Ann or Ginger IMO...lol! But there was no doubt at all that Tina Louise was just simply Beautiful!
Bob Denver said Alan Hale Jr had the warmest personality of anyone he'd ever known. The Skipper is my favorite probably because I'm also a veteran and also grew up by the sea.
It's said that Jim Baccus ad libbed quite a bit on the show. Wanted to drill for glue- you should have seen some of the oil wells I got stuck with. Haha!
Alan Hale Jr... its still one of the only celebrity deaths to really affect my life. I love this guy. Always will. For anyone reading this, search for "Alan Hale Ensign" to see his TV ad for Ensign Motors in Victoria BC (Canada). You'll hear the announcer say "Caledonia". That's the street where my Motel is located at, and I stay there every time I visit that great city. :).
Thanks for sharing your video. It was entertaining and loved the subject matter. I had not heard Time Passages for a long time. Brings back good memories when I saw Al Stewart in concert.
Great tribute, not only to Alan Hale but to the others as well. Quite simply, one of the most outstanding line ups of comedic talent ever to grace the small screen, backed, of course, by some equally fine talent behind the scenes. From the days when the whole family could enjoy the same TV shows. As a former video editor, I can see how much work has gone into this. Fantastic job. Well done.
+Retro Thingz Thanks Retro Thingz. I have really enjoyed doing Gilligan's Island videos. I started with High chaparral and somehow started watching this show again and I agree the actors really made this show the success it is now, and has been since the 1960's.
+Sherry - Once again, an absolutely beautiful video! With a great background song by the very gifted Al Stewart, you've woven together many fun, wonderful clips & stills from a classic TV show from a classic time, the 60's. Since about 1980 or so, most of tv comedy has been pretty trashy, not genuinely funny at all.
A wonderful song, a wonderful show, a wonderful cast, and a truly wonderful tribute!!📻📺🇺🇸
I googled Alan Hale, Jr and found this video. What a delight and fitting tribute to a very kind soul.

I love the Skipper. He was like a father figure to Gilligan who, let's face it, had to be scolded many times. Lol
This is my new favorite UA-cam video. I love G.I., but I love the Skipper even more. Time Passages was a great song selection for the subject matter.
After my fourth viewing of this one---the only word is--- FABULOUS!!
YOUR ART IS TRULY AWESOME & AMAZING!!! MANY THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!!
RIP Alan Hale, aka Skipper.

Creative tribute to our ever determined Skipper against the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune (Gilligan).
Alan Hale was wonderful, and Al Stewart is awesome! Thanks! I smiled all the way through this. My granddaughter LOVES Gilligan's Island.

The Buck Stops Here I could never decide if Ginger or Mary Ann was hotter! I know it wasn't the professor! Thanks again.

The Skipper and Ginger were my favorite Tv characters growing up. Nice tribute to our Skipper.
This is cool. Thanks for posting on UA-cam.
Nice tribute for the best Skipper on TV.
Hard to imagine Gilligan's Island without Alan Hale and he was the last one to be cast.

Bravo Buck. A fitting video tribute for a very fine actor and his unforgettable portrayal of the Skipper.
Wonderful and moving tribute of one of my all time favorite actors.
What a wonderful video tribute of the Skipper.
I miss Alan Hale, Jr., the perfect person to play the Skipper. Bet he was a soft touch in real life.
It's said that Jim Baccus ad libbed quite a bit on the show. Wanted to drill for glue- you should have seen some of the oil wells I got stuck with. Haha!

Wonderful actor and family man. Thanks for sharing this video.

Such a great cast of characters. I guess that is the number 1 reason the show was so successful.

Wow Miss Sherry, you did a good job matching the music to video. Way to go!
Great matching of video to song.
I really like this Al Stewart song even if it is a bit too long. Went nicely wth the Skipper. Nice tribute Buck Stops Here.

Nicely done tribute to Alan Hale Jr. Loved the clips you put together so nicely.

Next month Alan THE SKIPPER Hale Jr would turn 100 if he lived on...
Alan is such a shuanzy
Thanks for doing all of these video compilations to music. I'm totally enjoying them. I'm guessing that the Skipper was your favorite castaway?
Hi bxktd. Thanks for viewing and yes, the Skipper was my favorite character since the age of 10. I am a babyboomer so I have been a fan of GI forever.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Sweet!!!!!!!!
terribly sad how they were screwed out of their residuals. if any people in t.v. ever deserved a taste of residuals they surely did.
+sharpasaneraser I totally agree, very sad indeed!!
Awwww
I love that bit... 5:14😄
Has anyone noticed the teddy bear of Thurston Howell. Radar 's in MASH ? LOL
...kind of a DOWNER moment! 4:56😔
While it's a cool tribute to the Skipper I don't understand the connection to the song Time Passages.
It works for me...
im the real Ginger
