i feel like i have pretty good reasons but they dont fully add up to explain it lol also know a guy with a wee bit of bi potential, mads is one of few dudes he'd be down for
He's not the typically beautiful like the usual actors...but he's like some fine wine...enough mystery and good bod, makes u go crazy just thinking what he is thinking...not all men are like that...and that i think makes him really attractive...he was amazing in his roles because he has this ability to mystify each character he holds...he put nuances that makes u believe that he is pondering something always...
Actually, we don't pronounce it "mass" in danish :D We don't drag the "a" like you do in english so it is more like you pronounce "mess" but with an "a" sound instead... if that makes any sense
Alot of people are fascinated by James Bond but Mads is a real person whose seems very smart , speaks 5 languages and has the perfect 5 oclock shadow .
The "Mass" pronunciation of Mads is a purely Danish thing. Even Norwegians and Swedes will tend to pronounce the "d". Also noticed his brother's name is Lars, which again has a purely Danish pronunciation (sort of like the English word "loss"). Norwegians and Swedes would say "Lawsh." Danish is really the "odd man out" in Scandinavian languages.
I lived him back in the day in the movie king Arthur he was badass and his sword fighting style in that movie was amazing he was by far best actor and fighter and character in that film
Til was in that movie also....I love Mads....I liked him in Clash of the Titans....I actually fell in love with his acting in a danish film....Im sorry i cant remember the name...Valhalla was another good one, even though he hardly says anything...
Excellent video, thank you. Two small corrections to his name pronunciation and the number of languages he knows and then a bunch of trivia with my own #11 I think is pretty cool if you'll indulge me - having to do with cultural egalitarianism in Denmark . . . First, Mads name is not exactly pronounced "Mass" - it is more like "Mess" but as if it had an *æ* combined declension but because Dansk does not have the same alphabet as we do in America/Britain/Canada/Australia etc. the pronunciation is not able to be directly translated well. For example, Mads's dog is called "Messi" - not pronounced like Mads [Maess] and named after soccer player Lionel Messi. I should mention that I'm a TEFL-certified btw & and an entertainment reporter which is why I'm being so rude and correcting you...though only slightly and my apologies because the differences between this and the explanation you gave are not huge). Last name, Mikkelsen, is said more like "Mee-gul-Sun" [note emphasis 1st & 3rd syllable] The problem with both his first and last names for those of us used to American/Brit pronunciation is that the Dansk language letter K is more like "gk" together and Dansk letter combination "ds" is not really 'silent' it's more like an "sz" together with less emphasis on the z. However, if you listen to Mads say his name multiple times in introduction videos for movie promotions etc, he says "Maess Mee-gul-Sun" with the accent in the last name up on 1st and 3rd syllable and bouncing less heavily & quickly off the middle syllable (gul) - the "g" is more like "gk" as it sounds more like a "g" to Americans, Brits, Canadians...or anyone who is used to "dragging" vowels and letters as the Danish do not. If you listen to Dansk (Danish language) spoken, it is FAST & CLIPPED. Americans drag their "A's" particularly, and since our alphabet is similar but not the same, a "K" while it is a letter in the Dansk alphabet does not sound like an American "K" exactly but more like a declension of g and k, or "gk." Languages: My information says that he knows 8 languages (Danish gods help me if he learns a 9th or starts a rock band I may lose my mind, I'm beginning to believe he's an Artificial Intelligence he's so perfect, y'know?). Now, I will say, the languages you listed are those he knows very well, the others perhaps he is only at L1, I'm not sure, but I do know that he has spoken 8 languages at some point, and sung in at least 3 of them and since he learned to play piano in one week for Igor Stravinsky & Coco Chanel, I just.... my word I have nothing to say about that, he's amazing. #11 Things you didn't know-My Addition: Hr. Mikkelsen(R) does not, and will probably never, correct anyone when they butcher his name, which U.S. media (Odin help us) frequently does-I'm grateful I'm moving to Berlin soon-LOL. The reason for this might have its roots in something called Jante Law (Janteloven). It's well documented but you don't hear Danes or Swedes or Norwegians talk about it much, but it has to do with their egalitarian viewpoint (thank all that's green). Jante Law, which began in Denmark, prevents him from thinking he's anything special (seriously that's got to be some challenge given his amazing acting & voice talent, knightings, languages, international fame, even the meaning of his name [Gift from God, Who is God's son] etc.) - The first of the Janteloven literally says "You are not to think you are anything special." If his name literally means he's the Second Coming??? Well, he may have an easier time of that, since he was raised in Denmark, but that's pretty hard for the rest of us who rarely see anyone that accomplished in their craft inhabit a film or TV screen like they were Sir Laurence Olivier, Omar Sharif, Anthony Hopkins, Peter O'Toole or Sir Alec Guinness. Mads has already reached that level. Certainly, the Danes know this. He still insists that he's "just Jenny from the block" as he's said, using Jennifer Lopez's expression. Meanwhile, the rest of us are (speaking personally here) making faces at the screen every time we see Leo DiCaprio because we feel offended at the idea that Leo believes he should/can make an "American" version of Druk (Another Round) when Mads was beyond astonishing in that Oscar-winner (best Intl film 2020) and no one will ever do that movie better than he and Vinterberg did it! The movie is perfect exactly as it is and I resent the idea that anyone, particularly DiCaprio, thinks it should be remade . . . WHY should it? Because Americans can't read subtitles? Because we can't deal with hearing the main character speak in his native language? Really? We are spoiled toddlers who deserve the economic, pandemic, and political catastrophes that we're unable to juggle right now. Not being able to deal with subtitles because "it's too much, it's too hard" is a symptom, an example of why we've become a 3rd world country trying to pretend we're still 1st world. Another symptom is our stereotyping of Mads as the Big Bad in all the Hollywood franchises. Clearly, he's won BAFTAs and Best European Actor etc. and is capable of playing ANY character. And Hollywood . . . well, Hollywood can't Read Subtitles! LOL.
thanks for the comment. Interesting. and awful to acknowledge the man is apparently a living god 🥲 Janteloven, that you mention is exactly the explanation of why one feels so great watching his interviews. Jenny from the block, in a good way 😊
This very human man with a delightful sense of humor could take me off my feet in one glance…and that is a rare experience for me! (My husband ancestry is Finland and Lithuanian…very handsome, w dry wit…maybe a similarity..He could not dance a note..nor act.). Mads/Mass too is a brilliant actor…and has a wonderful sensitivity for life, love and ahh, yes…BEER! . I so appreciate his unique human and creative gifts…a rare find.
He is beautiful, interesting and fan friendly. I have an adorable photo of him that my daughter snapped with her friend and with his permission when they encountered him in Santana Row.
Wow, I was shocked that Lars is his brother. I really liked Lars' part in the House of Cards and Mads for Hannibal but it occurred to me now that they are related. Wow :O
No because the fact that Lars is his brother and he played in roles like Sherlock (Charles Magnussen) and Witcher (Stregobor) plus many more still amazes me
2:02 Hahaha! Mr. Craig there's a difference between becoming the MC of a franchise or just one villain. That said, Le Chivre is exactly the reason why Mads Mikkelsen became one of my favorite actors. The situation doesn't surprise me whatsoever.
He's always been my favourite actor... just so engaging, talented, and has a way to be so subtle yet steal the show effortlessly in everything he does - even in adverts - probably ;)
Everyone is talking 'bout Hannibal....I met the great Madz and his opposite in King Arthur (2004)...Ah yes...the great Galahad and legendary Tristan...
The movie didn't get a ton of publicity but he was terrific in The Salvation. The trip in the stagecoach at the beginning is so tense 😬 Very dark buy he's brilliant in it.
Pronounce his name wrong? I am danish and Mads Mikkelsen is almost as simple a name as they come. I can see non-danish native speakers might have a tough time, but for us, it is very common and very easy to pronounce. :)
OMG! Just said it on another comment about Mads. I guarantee he at least speaks 6 different languages. These men from the Netherlands are super fine. They all have this defined face cheek bone lips and eyes. And very fluentenial in alot of things. Mmmmm!
Does anyone else feel like they just violently love mads for some unexplainable reason
nop
No. I have an explainable reason to love him.
i feel like i have pretty good reasons but they dont fully add up to explain it lol
also know a guy with a wee bit of bi potential, mads is one of few dudes he'd be down for
Yes. I love the don't-mess-with-me Viking look of Danish actors - and Mads is both ice cool and smoking hot 😊
That's that scorpio man!
The fact he learned English via Monty Python explain so much of why his humor is the way it is
It's also Danish humour which is usually quite dark and subversive.
He's not the typically beautiful like the usual actors...but he's like some fine wine...enough mystery and good bod, makes u go crazy just thinking what he is thinking...not all men are like that...and that i think makes him really attractive...he was amazing in his roles because he has this ability to mystify each character he holds...he put nuances that makes u believe that he is pondering something always...
nicely explained! I believe this is it xD I couldn't quite put it to words...
👌👌👌 well put.
I think he's physically beautiful
He thinks whiskey smells like a girl who didnt shower and just splashed a perfume.. If you ever wonder wheat hes thinking just knw
@@serious7179 yeah , He is physically beautiful. and charming
His attractiveness is hypnotic.
10 things that Mads fans already knew but still nice to show someone else.
exactly haha
I knew four out of ten, got to learn them somewhere.
I new a few, then again, i'm a Dane! And in my opinion his ENG/US movies is cringe and not at all that good as his many many danish performances.
Same lmao
EXACTLY
Michelangelo could not have carved a better Hannibal.
And water is wet
What an effortlessly handsome and suave looking man..He has style.
He was mind blowing in Hannibal the series!
You should see him in "Polar" . . . bloody, messy . . . sexy!
I never saw the series until literally last month.
I was one of the many who always pronounced his name wrong. Learning how to truly pronounce his name was a life changing experience.
how did your life change?
Actually, we don't pronounce it "mass" in danish :D We don't drag the "a" like you do in english so it is more like you pronounce "mess" but with an "a" sound instead... if that makes any sense
Mads is pronounced, as already said, with a short 'a'. The 'I' in Mikkelsen is pronounced like the 'I' in tick/dick/prick etc.
As a Danish i have always could say his name
you must have some boring life lol (unless you are 2 years old)
Alot of people are fascinated by James Bond but Mads is a real person whose seems very smart , speaks 5 languages and has the perfect 5 oclock shadow .
such a cutie pie and babygirl this (grown-up man) is!
The "Mass" pronunciation of Mads is a purely Danish thing. Even Norwegians and Swedes will tend to pronounce the "d". Also noticed his brother's name is Lars, which again has a purely Danish pronunciation (sort of like the English word "loss"). Norwegians and Swedes would say "Lawsh." Dare I say it... Number 11: He can make hetrosexual men go, hmmm...
nop
Got dam he's right...
LOL!
he makes lesbians go, hmmm...
Speak for yourself perv.
I lived him back in the day in the movie king Arthur he was badass and his sword fighting style in that movie was amazing he was by far best actor and fighter and character in that film
Heather Robertson but but...him in the end tho... ;''(
Heather Robertson I know right he was by far the best in that group with the coolest looking sword a shame that they killed him off at the end
I want to get his sword from the movie
He’s so damn beautiful, I know it’s been said before but damn
Ikr
It's like him and his brother are having a contest to see who can play the most dastardly villain.
Lol his bro is the guy from Sherlock who licked the woman face , I still can’t get over that scene 😂 .
Mads Mikkelsen: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MAN IN THE WORLD!!!!
Cheers
You need to go watch is latest film Another Round. Such a good movie!
His first English speaking appearence were as Tristan in "king Arthur" also starring Clive Owen and Kiera Knightley.
Wedge Antilles it also starred hugh dancy ;)
Char: And Stellan Skarsgård. It actually involved a bunch of talented people.
Til was in that movie also....I love Mads....I liked him in Clash of the Titans....I actually fell in love with his acting in a danish film....Im sorry i cant remember the name...Valhalla was another good one, even though he hardly says anything...
Yeah I came here because he is fckin' awesome in Polar.
Excellent video, thank you. Two small corrections to his name pronunciation and the number of languages he knows and then a bunch of trivia with my own #11 I think is pretty cool if you'll indulge me - having to do with cultural egalitarianism in Denmark . . .

Janteloven, that you mention is exactly the explanation of why one feels so great watching his interviews. Jenny from the block, in a good way 😊
Thank you, I agree 💯. We are spoiled toddlers. He is a one man show. Total package
Sorry, but do you know what a 'klugscheisser' is?😉
This very human man with a delightful sense of humor could take me off my feet in one glance…and that is a rare experience for me!
