Awesome video. You’re the man! Thanks
Nicely explained. Thank you, it looks great.

Holding up really well! I’ll make a 1 year update video soon.
Did you get bubbles? I got several and I don't know why. Thanks for the video. I leaned the same lessons.
Still liking it today?
Where did you buy your custom chips? Looking to do the same thing, except I want a little more coverage then what I can see you put on.

Could have rented a diamond grinder from the big box stores
We did ours and it came out great!!
So if there is already old paint on the floor that doesn’t pull up from tape, then no acid wash and just roll right over it - right?
That’s what the directions say. You’ll find most people online recommend to remove all paint but sometimes it’s just not feasible.
Should I buy two kits for a 2 car garage or 4?
We did 3 kits for a 3 car and only used 2
I think after you Ground the floor completely you didn’t even need to acid watch because you’re a brave the floor 😅
@breakwood carpentry hows it holding up?
Holding up really well! I’ll make a 1 year update video soon.
im moving to new home soon, brand new built, do i need grind the garage before concrete?
If the concrete is new then you’ll need to let it cure for 30 days. You shouldn’t have to grind anything, just use the provided acid etch.
As a professional installer - I would always grind. Acid etching doesn’t create enough of a profile for epoxy to hold on to. You wouldn’t believe how many of these DIY floors end getting redone by pros when that epoxy starts chipping away.
@@andremzk Do you have to acid etch if you grind it? im halfway done with grinding my floors and plan on doing this rocksolid deal.. just want to follow to best steps that will preserve the epoxy for as long as possible
@@raulyrod if you do a good enough job grinding, you won’t need to acid etch. We use large commercial-grade grinders. Never acid etch. Floors last for a long time.
Make sure to use a dust extractor when grinding with a min N95 / P100 mask. Silica dust is very harmful.
@@breakwoodcarpentry48 not true. New or old concrete - all concrete is finished to a smooth surface. Acid etching won’t open up the pores. It has to be mechanically profiled.
DYI installations are the most common that end up getting redone by installers like myself. Ultimately ends up costing homeowners a lot more.
Where did you buy the paint chips?
I ordered them from Epoxy Superstore.

YOUR BUFFER HANDEL WAS UP TOO HIGH BRO......
I'd have skipped the 90 hours of mistakes in the video lol
You must be bad at keeping track of time
Its just citric acid calm down.
Why don’t you eat it then?
@@breakwoodcarpentry48 the point is it won't burn your skin as he implied.
@@saltycrowgarage7215 it can definitely irritate your skin. Citric acid or not, it’s not something you should leave on your skin.

Not everybody has $7k laying around for this type of work. I rather pay $400 and get the results this gentleman got...

$1700 will get the job done. The problem with the DIY is that the materials from the box stores are water based and will chip and peel in a few months.
@@RayNLA I wish I lived where you are because I was literally just quoted $7k for 900 SqFt(3 car) garage.

I’m in So Cal and found the company on Craigslist. I have an oversized 2 car garage though. I’m not sure about the sqft.
Those chips are ugly
Like your face.
