Back in the 90’s When all your friends just randomly showed up at your house for no reason on a the first Saturday morning of summer break 94, it’s the navy housing suburbs in alameda California, we’re all just trying to figure out what to do, should we go to braylins and jump on that super street fighter 2? Or go play rollerblade hockey in the street? Should we go hop that fence to the ferry docks and go fishing for kingfish and rubber lip perch? Maybe I can use my bicycle patches to fix the holes in that raft we found by the big dumpsters and tie a rope to the pier just so we can cast a little further? And afterwards we could get carls philipino mom to cook those kingfish for us while we build a metropolis on sim city until 5 in the morning, then get up around noon because it’s time to cut grass for our biweekly cliental customers, me and Carl only got one yard to do for 15 bucks, a light mow, and some sidewalk edging, 30 minutes of work and we’re done, decided to use our money on the best fishing bait money can buy, 1/4 pound of grass shrimp, decided to go back to the ferry docks for some more fishing because the king fish are running and carls mom has been asking us to catch more, I’m 43 and I thank my mom still to this day for giving me the best childhood i could ever imagine 🥲
