Why your favorite movies sound strangely familiar?

I started in Cubase… then went to pro tools because I went to school and I love pro tools, but hate avid and their pricing tactics…AND was tired of having cpu errors when loading instruments and stuff… and then I found Studio One (which honestly is kind of like a light version of cubase with a more streamlined user interface)… but over time Studio One’s limitations got annoying…so recently I decided to commit back to Cubase… and a month in i’m already thinking of just going back to protools for good… unfortunately even though cubase has more features than pretty much any other daw.. a lot of it feels tacked together… you really need to know it’s nuances in order to not screw something up… for instance I was just trying to comp drums in cubase and the comp got all out of sync.. I find out on a forum that if you use the comp tool a certain way with multi-tracks it bugs out and they just have never fixed it… there’s other stuff like how undo on the mixer is a separate quick key from the standard command Z kind of thing… that said, I have a special place in my heart for Cubase.. and will definitely keep it updated… but I think it needs a rebuild and refresh before I can really commit to using it exclusively…
There’s also Reaper that I dabble in a lot that has some amazing things about it… especially performance… but man is it cumbersome to get setup and rocking in.
Unfortunately there’s just no perfect DAW… yet
Thanks for the video! Good luck!

Let's face it. All DAWs are very good these days. But Cubase has one feature that I don't want to live without. That is MIDI remote controller user mapping. I'm able to take old controllers I've had around for years and make them fully functional and assign the functions that are the most important to me. Also, I can make up a graphic representation of the controller that shows what functions sliders, knobs, and pads are mapped to.

This is a really good take on the DAW wars. I did something similar: Cubase to Bitwig. Bitwig is great, but it actually relit my fondness for Cubase. The occasional shake up is good.

"why would I slow myself down on purpose" is frankly the problem with ProTools, everything is so much slower in ProTools compared to modern DAWs like Reaper, that even years of hands-on experience in ProTools can't compete with workflows in Reaper,
anyway, the main point nowadays should be, not to get too much attached to any one particular DAW software or plugin, instrument etc.. in case of sudden undesired change of things, as for ex. recently seen with Waves forced subscription debacle, or Apple's change of cpu architecture

My friend, this is a terrible video. There is not one mention of what PT does better than Cubase, or visa versa. Cubase is NOT that hard to learn. All DAWS obviously have more SIMILAR than DISSIMILAR workflows. They all have edit windows, I/O etc. etc. You may have found you like PRO TOOLS better and that's cool. But TELL US WHY. My sense is you just wanted to make more content to make more money. Or maybe even Pro Tools paid you. Pro Tools is experiencing massive attrition and declining growth. Who knows? But please have some substance --
