I like the overlap in content because it's a different perspective. Plus you do different things with your unique style. The eggshells also provide calcium to the plant as well as being a slug deterrent. Put a shallow dish of beer. Slugs love beer... lol...

I agree with you Ali, Bees are fascinating. I once heard that aerodynamically a bee is not supposed to be able to fly because it’s body is so much bigger than its wings. So symbolically, it reminds us that often the impossible is possible. Now you’ve sparked my interest. I hope that you take us along for your ‘flight of the bumblebee’ journey😊.

Please do contact your local Beekeeper. Get lots of books to read up on Honeybees and educate yourself before you invest in bees, a hive and all the tools. Prepare yourself to fail. Here in Ohio our survival rate is 50%. I've failed every year and that is normal.😤 You do not want to take honey from a hive in the first year because the bees need the food to winter over. I know you are going into this as most do with the idea of having your own honey but if you shift your thinking slightly to wanting to help bees survive you might get a better mental reward. They are the most incredible and fascinating group of ladies you will ever meet. Education and learning is key. DO NOT GET USED EQUIPTMENT FROM ANYONE! Best of luck and welcome to a new obsession.🐝

Stefanie Sombaty a comment on this comment to Ali. Remember to check if the system you are thinking about purchasing is suitable for your climate. Enough isolation during winter so they don't freeze to death or use up thier reserves of honey to quickly so they starve to death.

as a gardener I can tell you there is nothing nicer than picking your own tomatoes and biting into them (Like an apple) well done on your 1st attempt of repotting your fruit trees, I would trim them to shape whilst you are at it. Don't let them get out of shape at this early stage. Loving this home vloging by the way.

We had a happy accident and had an opening on our porch. Some honey bees made themselves at home and filled our porch. It was so loud you could hear them when you stood on our porch. Unfortunately, they started to make their way inside the house so we had them relocated. The guy that came out took out buckets of honey from our porch and we kept some. It was the best tasting honey I’ve ever had !

Hello. Your citrus trees are called calamansi in the Philippines. Ripe and orange is ok, but they are meant to be sour and are best picked and consumed when they are green. Use them as an ingredient/condiment like you would a lemon or lime. Mixed with soy or fish sauce makes an excellent condiment for seafood or Asian noodle dishes. They are also great squeezed into a light beer. Since yours are ripe, Lydia can use them in her tonic, make lemonade, or better yet... limoncello!! There are tons of great videos from Filipino UA-camrs showing recipes and how to care for your calamansi tree. Best of luck and enjoy!

Fresh home grown tomatoes in the summer are delicious. In the US, when in season, tomato sandwiches are a treat. Also tomatoes sliced into wedges with oil and vinegar are also great. Sliced on a burger with lettuce and cheese are also yummy...and I would definitely eat one fresh off the vine with a little salt... but I don’t eat store bought tomatoes...gross...oh and you have fresh basil..slice up a local tomato, some basil, olive oil and fresh mozzarella on a pizza crust..delish!

Have you thought of using Bottomless Pots for your Citrus trees? You'd have to decide where you want the plants permanently placed but the tree & roots will be happier in the long run. A good pruning of interior branches would aid in producing fruit.
Beer works for slugs. Just place a pie pan with beer under the leaves of the plant & that'll take out your slugs. You can even use cheap domestic beer, slugs don't care.
