That’s so relatable. Age sneaks up on you so fast. You think you’re young and fun and suddenly you wake up one day getting excited about clean stainless steel pans.
Wow, thank you so much for these eco-friendly and guaranteed solutions! I have a stainless steel wok with white and light brown rings all over the inside from boiling hard water in it for steaming food. I tried Barkeeper's friend but it didn't work. Your solution of water + vinegar (I tripled the amount for each and simmered for 8 minutes) worked and now I don't have to throw away the pan! Good for Mother Earth too! 🌎Thanks again
For my Demeyere Atlantis collection of stainless I use when necessary Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser (creme version not powder) that you can get at your local Home Depot. Works great and a little bit goes a long way.
Another product which works well for cooked on grease on the bottom of a pan is SoftScrub with Bleach. Also a stainless steel scrub pad works better than a sponge pad and will not scratch the pan because it is a softer grade of steel.
Thanks for your instruction. I'm buying a full set of Stainless cookware and this is going to help me quite a bit!! I'm switching away from non-stick to stainless and cast iron. Also love my cold-rolled Blackstone!
Oh my gosh, I am so glad that I found your videos. I love My pan's,and they are very well used. If I didn't find your videos. I would have damaged my beautiful made in pan's. I did everything that you recommended and they look beautiful again. Thank you so much. 😊
You just earned a new subscriber, because I've an All-Clad pan (which is presently being sold on Amazon for a whopping $129) that loves TLC, and apparently, "You da man!". Barkeepers Friend and the real Mr. Clean melamine pads are best buddies. BTW - Mr. Clean clones fall apart very quickly, I've found, so I'll stay with the real Mr. Clean, extra durable sponges.
i dont know if im doing something wrong, but i cant seem to get the seemingly stained in texture out of my pan, it was left behind after a burning incident and the oil stain (not the oil itself) wont come out. example, if i wipe against it dry, my finger slides with no resistance. almost like a birth mark it's seamless to the touch but visibly there.
Thanks for that...mine looked like the 2nd pan...and I was about to throw it out the window...btw...since this is my first time using stainless steel...how do you prevent food from sticking...pointer please...n thank you...
White vinegar is the only thing I've found to get rid of the rainbow tint. Getting the bottom of pan clean I'm still figuring out. It seems like even Barkeepers friend isn't enough to fully clean it
I’m stainless or die, just had it with sketchy non stick solutions and gimmicky alternatives. There’s a reason the best kitchens in the world go stainless

I just use a bit of Barkeepers of dish soap alone doesn’t do the job. Pans always look like new, it’s faster, and the chemical characteristics of Barkeepers cleans and protects better than anything. To each his/her own….
What's the point in mixing baking soda and vinegar? The two react and make water. They're losing their acidic and basic properties so they're less effective combined than using them individually.
Thank you! I managed to get all of it out by using "Easy Off" spray. I sprayed it and let it sit for about a minute. I wiped it and wow, lots of grey stuff. So, I did it again, and it was all gone. I did it a 3rd time to make sure it was gone. Lastly, I use white vinegar to help get any residue of "Easy Off" out of the pot. @@MadeInCookware
Will vinegar cause any leaching of the stainless steel pan? I know certain acidic foods can pull out nickel and chromium, is the same true for vinegar?
Never imagined a day when I thoroughly enjoy watching people cleaning stuff, this is satisfying
You're missing out on an entire portion of the internet.
There are so many satisfying cleaning videos. Try watching rug cleaning
That's how I realised I am officially an adult now😅

The host of this video did a phenomenal job, and kudos to the editor getting great shots and keeping the video to the point. This was excellent!
I've mastered wiping off caked food but couldn't remove that rainbow tint. Until now.

If your going to use that scotch bright sponge, please add some bar keepers friend!! Works wonders.
I totally agree thats what I use, and it has the same effect.... either method is good

Thanks , Bro! I bought some new ones and this helped
Much appreciated!! Super useful content that I didn't at all read like an obnoxious sales commercial.
Finally a video tutorial of my exact problem and a fix that worked!
Great to hear!
Keep up the good work Steve!

These are such useful tips! Thanks so much!
the hard water in austin has been killlllling my poor pans. can't wait to get them back to shiny and new!

Great demo how to clean it and I learn something on it.
Thanks and what do you think about "seasoning" the inside of stainless steel frying pans?

Steve's back with the hot tips
Thanks Steve! Love all your tips!
Thanks, Steve! Glad you hit on how to get the burned on oil off too. Been needing advice on that.
Will that mix work on non-stick pans? The inside of her pan is fine but the dark outside has so much crap on it that its looks horrible ..lol thx
Thanks, great video!
Glad you liked it!
Just get some bar keepers friends it’s a really good cleaning product and works better than the vinegar and baking soda.
Thank you for sharing ❤
You are so welcome!

I just got my first piece on this line , thanks

Thank you for the information. How about cast iron skillets?
Thanks again!
Our enameled cast iron skillets? No need to do anything with them prior to use! Regular cast iron should be seasoned like carbon steel.
Thanks buddy

It worked. Tq
Welcome 👍
Even your fridge looks perfect
Can the Made in stainless steel cleaner or Barkeepers be used in all 3 of those situations?
The made in cleaner will work for these!
Whats a finishing salt is it paprika, turmeric, pepper that stuff
How do you feel about
bar keepers friend for cleaning?
Great option.

Made In has a video on cooking with stainless as well!
What about bar keepers friend vs baking soda and vinegar?
Both are acceptable.
Can't we use dishwash soap on these ss pans? Are vinegar & soda the only way?
White vinegar is the only thing I've found to get rid of the rainbow tint. Getting the bottom of pan clean I'm still figuring out. It seems like even Barkeepers friend isn't enough to fully clean it
What if very very slight yellowing if the pan and very few black lines & dots? Boiling vinegar and water didn’t work
Nice ❤❤❤

Barkeepers friend is fantastic. Highly recommend as well.
wow...i have always added salt to make water boil faster, not sure why, but checking my stainless now...hoping no pits...what if I have them?
That actually doesnt make your water boil faster, its a myth
Also if you pour in your salt before you boil it and the salt dissolves it wont pit

Do you “season” (or prep) your stainless pan with oil every time you deep clean them like this?
It is not necessary.
❤
I really need to clean outside of my pans hahahahah they are nasty now thanks for the tips
No problem 😊
I bought a new stainless steel pot. no matter how many times I wash it, I always find dark grey residue. How to get it off?
Hi there, white vinegar and scrubbing with baking soda.

Definitely elbow grease but worked!!
Great to hear!
TIME TO CLEAN
So, you can't use salt when cooking in stainless steel??
No you 100 percent can
👍
Spic and Span? Haven’t heard that expression in years. And you are fairly young man. Learned that from your mom or grandma?
I can't stand the smell of vinegar. Would lemon juice work in place of the vinegar?
Sure! May not be as acidic, but worth trying. Let us know how it works.
@@MadeInCookware just tried it on my "rainbow" sauce pan and IT WORKED!! Thank you!!

Will vinegar cause any leaching of the stainless steel pan? I know certain acidic foods can pull out nickel and chromium, is the same true for vinegar?
Do u got the answer?
Great, but vinegar, or lemon juice, or any acidic liquid on marble countertops is not kosher!

Thanks for the info. Ironic that it comes from an inferior, Chinese garbage brand, but I still appreciate it.

You’re wrong on that. I have both stainless and non-stick pans. I love them. Certainly not from China
