Thanks for this! My teenager nephew is not savvy with tools and DIYs but wants to begin. I want to gift him a little toolbox to start him off and your video is great!
Thank you for giving a well organized, thoughtful, and descriptive introduction to some basic tools. I am a single mom and I enjoyed it and also showing this quality content to my 3.5 year old son who is interesting in learning about and seeing tools.
Hello, this is a new channel, and this is my first upload. My videos will cover subjects for beginners, and can cover topics like tools for DIY, photography, calligraphy and other subjects that will help out beginners. This video is about the minimum basic household hand tools that a beginner should have around the house or apartment. If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe.
First video, ever? Well done! It was a good length presentation--enough information, without being too long---and clearly organized. BTW, I've been around tools my entire life and had never heard the screwdrivers referred to as "plus" and "minus"...but I immediately understood the reasoning behind those names! One can always learn something new!
@@forbeginnersandbeyond6089 My pleasure. I'm putting together a "first-time homeowner" gift and gathered the things you suggested, plus a hacksaw, wire stripper, box cutter, an Allen wrench set, and clamps. I added duct tape, too, because who couldn't use that? Thank you for your recommendations!
Don't cheap out on the screwdrivers, esp the Phillips. Get highest quality ones you can afford, otherwise, you'll strip the screw heads (and yes, as stated in the video, it's hard to get the screws out if damaged).

At the very beginning, I was like “no wrench!?” Glad I kept watching, I was scratching my head!
