It's sad to think it probably ended up in the hands of some scumbag Russian after they stormed the position. Soap's body also stayed behind :(
The MW trilogy was the best COD ever had to offer. Best Multiplayer, Best characters, Best missions, Best story, Best writing, Best music and set piece direction. Will forever love these 3 games. I pretty much hate COD otherwise.
I swear there's a moment in this mission that I can't find on UA-cam, where Price is carrying Soap and get's blindsided by a soldier, Soap snap-shoots him. "Nice shot son" "I can still teach you a few tricks old man"
It's triggered at 4:40 when the guy goes through the door and Soap uses his pistol. Reason why the dialogue isn't heard here is because the guy was killed too early.

Very impressive that they built the map to look just like that area of Prague, itself. You can see the monument to Jan Huss multiple times at the start of this mission!

I never noticed that amount of blood he lost just sitting there at that wall before the Resistance showed up and moved him. Its a massive amount of blood loss. I thought it was the bullet wound that did it and just that never the blood loss. This was when I was like 10.

I was hoping when Price put the 1911 on Soap he'd say "This belongs to you son..." in homage to Soap giving it back to Price in MW2. "Stop the massacre" God, that mission objective....
What I noticed is that this mission is much better and sadder to the one in the new MW III. Price actually freaks out due to soap's death but in the new game he doesn't freak out as much. Price really cares about soap in this mission as Soap has been with price for the longest of times.
Soap died because his old wound has opened and didn't get treated immediately. Reopened wounds are worse than being wounded the first time. That's why despite being in the same place, experiencing the same explosion, Yuri only got minor injuries and Soap dead.
Overconfidence makes you careless - Price One day you'll find that line cuts both ways- Makarov And it cut trough Soap The writing in the mw games was phenomenal

InfinityWard forgot what made the old trilogy such a loved part of Call of Duty. It wasn't the realism, it was the characters, the story, the gameplay of all the modes combined across multiplayer, campaign and the special ops. Survival was also an amazing addition to the original trilogy.
A cool perspective of this is that soap used ALL of his remaining energy to make sure price new the truth. Once it came out he did his piece and was ready to pass.. that’s T141 for you!
I think this could have been avoid if Price wasn't so dead set on the plan. They didn't hear from Kamarov AND Soap told Price it was like Makarov was looking directly at them. The signs were there and Price ignored them.
If price ignores orders that would be a court martial on his behalf. He is captain for a reason but yeah I agree that most of it could’ve been avoided.

What was great about this cod MW story line was thought the games they where not they scare to kill off the best characters. The only one they where scared to kill off and that was Captain Price.

Something that bugs me about games nowadays, that I appreciate about these games was the weight of these main characters deaths, from gaz and griggs, to roach and ghost, to finally Soap an Yuri. I feel new games aren’t brave enough to take the risks of killing main characters and have that emotion of losing these characters we’ve been with from the start of the story. In my opinion cod nowadays keeps these characters alive to profit more off of them in terms of micro transactions and stuff of that sort, but what do I know im jus a geek who loves video games

I have spent 70 Euros when MW3 hit day one in 2011. With no reviews, no idea of what the game looked like (if good or bad). It was a blind purchase. Well, given the success of MW3, I realized I have spent the best 70 euros of my life.
This was still a terrible decision. Soap was the protagonist of the first two games, not Price. Clear misunderstanding of the story when the new developers took over for the real Infinity Ward.
I don't understand... if Nikolai told Price at the beginning of MW3 that the only one man who hated Makarov more than they did was Yuri, then wouldn't it make sense that Makarov knew Yuri? Not to diminish the sacrifice but that always confused me
Vladimir Makarov is way more bad ass and ruthless on the MW3 2023 (my opinion) but the 2009 version is up there considering the “No Russian” airport shooting.

Well bullets usually kill you via blood loss lol
All the blood comes out because Soaps stab wound, courtesy of Shepherd, was reopened from the fall as it never had the time to properly heal up.
