  • In Part Two, we continue to answer all the burning questions! How do these fit, feel, and what scenes do they hearken back to? This is our REVIEW of the ORLEBAR BROWN Bond Heritage Collection! This is Part Two of a two part video...Part 1 here: • James Bond Resort Wear...
    To shop the line: rb.gy/gtcmzx
Following two successful exclusive collaboration collections with Eon Productions, Orlebar Brown return with their third ode to James Bond’s iconic style.
A new take on Bond’s iconic style, the collection delves back into Eon Production’s heritage archive to take inspiration from more of James Bond’s most recognizable looks with a focus firmly on resort. A selection of key items have been re-imagined in an Orlebar Brown way; focusing on linen as one of the brand’s hero fabrics, the pieces are designed with desert island getaways in mind.
Highlights of the collection include a linen summer suit inspired by one worn by Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, a short-sleeved Thunderball Gingham Shirt with
signature cotton toweling lining, classic Thunderball Stripe Shirt and Dr No. photographic print shorts featuring original film poster artwork.

I find with Orlebar Brown "camp" shirts, there's a sweet spot between collar spread too wide and buttoned up too tight. I press the collar "closed" but then leave the top button open, so the "lapels" open just the right amount. The blue striped "Thunderball" is my favorite- a classic.

Thanks David. Disappointed to not see you modelling the Thunderball white trunks though!

These are both great videos, and very helpful. Re: the clothes themselves, there are more "misses" than hits for my taste. An example would be the Thunderball casual shirt--the collar is too small, not just for film accuracy but it just looks awkward, or somehow very 2014: out of date without being vintage, and no pockets like there were in the film. So it's absolutely fine to have a shirt that's "inspired by" the movie but there are so many shirts out there like this already that not to veer closer to the one in the movie, and not to look that exquisite on its own, just makes me want to buy one of hundreds of other shirts available that are as close or closer to the original and have a better cut. Also, the reason why the blue on blue didn't work for you is, it was close enough to clash without being close enough to match--like wearing a dark blue sports coat with separate dark blue dress pants. If they aren't a suit, ie made out of the same material, they will seem to clash. That's why Connery appears to wear a leisure basically, pants that are of the same material as the shirt--and again I wish Orlebar Brown had gone to the effort of doing this as well. This look is in style at the moment but even folks who don't want to try to pull off the leisure suit look would have still had the option of wearing really great pants and a great shirt as separates.

Really nice pieces. I almost wish the blue gingham shirt had the same patterned collar as the white draws a lot more attention but it does give a nice contrast.

I agree...might have been interesting to have a blue terry interior as well.

I don't like that shirt at all, it reminds me of my sister's school uniform.

Hi David. What I genuinely love, is your reaction to these items. A kid in a candy store. I prefer a fan talking about something they love, as oppose to a corporate video. I have checked out the collection. Just deciding

Thanks David. Hoping for some more Lazenby, Moore, Brosnan, Dalton pieces on the next run. Think they've done enough Connery, but I appreciate that style and era fits the OB brand better than others.

Another great video. Your reviews of the Orlebar Brown and N. Peal collections are among my favourites. Very detail oriented and plenty of enthusiasm. Thanks!

Love the sunny feeling these Thunderball outfits evoke - and that exactly fits your enthusiasm for the franchise and the fashion. It’s a good fit! Now, since I‘m late to the party for the first OB series, is there any way to still get a hold on that stunning Goldfinger Onesie? David, have you seen any of those pieces pop up somewhere again after they were sold out at the OB online shop?

I much prefer the Thunderball camp collar shirts from Mason & Sons. The shirts from Mason & Sons are much more screen accurate than these from Orlebar Brown. Plus the fact that you can get three Mason & Sons shirts for the price of one of these overpriced shirts from Orlebar Brown. The Orlebar Brown shirts do not have pockets like the movie shirts and the collars are too small. Everyone knows the helicopter blue gingham shirt did not have a white collar. The gingham pattern is also too big and bold. The Mason & Sons shirt got all of the details right and looks much better. On the Orlebar Brown blue stripe “Palmyra” shirt, all of these same complaints are present except for the white collar, and the stripes are too big. Once again Mason & Sons nailed this shirt. The blue Roger Moore shirt looks nice but maybe a little too shiny. It could have been the lighting. They say these are their interpretations of the movie shirts. I say they are their own designs because they really don’t have that much in common with the shirts in the movie. The blue t shirt from the previous review seems to be the closest design.

Had to laugh, when you were showing the rosebud shirt we had just been talking about what Matt Spaiser's take on the fit would be, and then you started talking about Matt and what he would say about the fit. 😁🍸 Enjoyed the video David, great work.

I have the pink Thunderball day shorts and pink swim trunks, they are fantastic. Would love to get my hands on the blue striped and also the blue linen Thunderball shirts though. Finally picked up the pink Thunderball shirt and hoping for the striped one!
Edit: I love the striped one, finally got it! Just hunting for blueprint blue!

Loving this collection!! I presume that the two Thunderball Setters are coming out later. I’ve already settled on getting the pink ones. And likely the blue linen shirt. Thanks for the review!!

Need a budget version of these shirts. Being an XL, 46 chest, afraid to spend the money on such fitted clothing.

fatsnbul Check out Mason & Sons if/when they restock this Sky Blue striped style, probably next summer. It’s a fraction of the price and arguably more screen-accurate.

Will there be a Frugal Bond follow up episode to these collection videos?

That's great David but Linin garment are a nightmare! to wear and keep looking pristien. & when wearing them out I've tried to counter the look by useing sprey starch, in hope that this would fix the problem.? Nothing i have ever done or tried to keep looking great.

Love the summer look David. You should ease up on the work outs. None of your clothes will fit you shortly..!!!! To be honest I never noticed what Bond was wearing when Domino gets out of the pool..my attention was elsewhere....

Blue shirt is classy, but I prefer Q's shirt in that scene. I know this about Bond, but I would rather wear that in tropical locale. Is Q's shirt still in production?

Thanks for these videos. I have Thunderball Pinder from the last collection in medium. How is the fit on the Blue Thunderball compare? More or less the same or the arms a bit looser on this new Blue? Thanks.
