The Matter Protocol is probably assisted companies to provide local non-subscription devices as Matter requires local control to be an option. It’s also a great selling point, no-one wants to buy a product just to find out it’s bricked in the future because the company hosting the servers has gone bust.
Awesome video! Thanks for the run down. I was really hoping Aqara was going to announce a black U100 instead of the awesome looking gunmetal gray they currently have. It’s just so hard to pair with door handles.
Great recap! Disappointed that Aqara didn’t make the standalone keypad (concept at 2024 CES) a reality for arming/disarming the security system. They literally have it for the u200 lock and just need to sell it as a standalone device, I don’t see what’s so difficult to do that..
Those (lockly) were at the first night event (Pepcom) but not at the actual show. I unfortunately didn't get any footage of them because I was expecting to find their booth.
Nice, succinct recap. What do you use for a LoRaWAN gateway? I secretly want to hide some sort of device at the tennis court about a mile from my house to detect if it's in use before I drive out there. Don't exactly know what (Not a camera, because that would be creepy), but LoRaWAN seems to have the range to pull it off.
I’m excited for more locally controlled devices, I’d be leery of anything with AI slapped on the label that requires being connected to the cloud to operate
I've been hankering for a battery powered version of the Aqara FP2, wondering why would it be wired for a device that has to be situated in random corners. Yey.
I would check out his reviews, which are thorough. This was just a quick review of the products in the stated category as shown at the consumer electronics show. Can’t do areal review from a show like this.
Best CES recap video by far. Everything we care about in 3 minutes with no sponsored fluff. You are truly a gem.
I love it that there are still companies doing local, no subscription, devices! I have switched out lots of subscription devices already.
Agreed 100%. A game changer

Shelly really knows what consumers need! I love that company and I have "On production" 26 Shelly-devices :) Thanks Rob!
One of the best overviews I've seen! Thanks!
Can't wait for your reviews. Nice and quick recap. No fluff. Always love your reviews.
Can you please do a new round of water flow sensors, including the Droplet by Hydrificwater?
Oh snap! A LoRa Shelly! I missed that on some of the other CES reviews. That is going to be amazing.
Glad some vendors are focusing on local devices. Do the cameras, wired and wireless, support open standards like RTSP and OVNIF?
The wired ones do, battery cameras typically do not, but the Reolink home hub helps to bridge the gap and can provide feeds to home assistant.
Cool! I'm definitely interested in those Baseus and Reolink cameras.
Awesome video! Thanks for the run down.

Can someone go to the Third Reality booth and see what they have going on?

I’m a hubitat user and would love to know more about these newer Shelly devices . Thanks for the videos
can't wait!
2:36 my favorite thing, when battery bank companies decide to branch out
nice recap would have loved an 30min version :)
What about those UWB smart locks?
Those (lockly) were at the first night event (Pepcom) but not at the actual show. I unfortunately didn't get any footage of them because I was expecting to find their booth.
Confused between dangbei atom and LG cinebeam Q4k both are in same price in india which one should I pick .
Have u ever done videos on home alarm systems

I used thingsnetwork for a while, but more recently I use direct LoRa communication using these little guys with ESP32 boards: amzn.to/3PzCPfh
What would you recommend for an apartment on the door to look at outside? without any screws
Check out the new switchbot battery doorbell.
Something I'd love to see: some sort of wireless ONVIF camera. That's a tough lift, I know, but there's a market for that sort of product.
I think the Reolink's are the closest to being able to pull that off. For now I think the Home Hub can accomplish something similar.
More on the LoRA support?
It's device to device, so you need 2 "hats", and then it "just works" according to Shelly. I'll be checking them out soon.
The lack of subscription cost is immense.. so good
oh thank god you speak english! it gave me italian as ai translation 😂
I’m excited for more locally controlled devices, I’d be leery of anything with AI slapped on the label that requires being connected to the cloud to operate
Please cover the best electric toothbrushes!!!! PLEASE❤
Interested in the Shelly products.

I’ve got no idea what the heck most of these buzzwords mean.
4 years old, but still holds up: ua-cam.com/video/v8-VNIQQiQE/v-deo.html
This just looked like an ad. No depth.
In fact, it's the opposite of that. I can't go in depth without doing testing so brief is all we know for sure.

you know shit about him, maybe research a bit before spitting ignorance
