Grenada has to get staff that loves caring I didn’t see that in the current hospital attitudes have to change within Grenada health providers it really has to, it’s third rate at best. No more excuses please
At the end of the day, Grenada needs a competent medical staff that is compensated at regional market rate. Equally needed as well are medical equipment and medicine.
Health care on sister Islands needed given challenges of travel should be a consideration. Do not expect us to believe that this huge complex will fund care elsewhere.
Why I cannot get Kem daily like I used to 2 weeks ago ? is it me what am I doing wrong? I used to get dynamic hour and information services now I only have the old ones
Persons who are so critical about the new buildings, and concentrating on the negative, why not offer your services,or encourage your relatives and friends to do so. Staff attitude can be improved ,however, if only the negative is highlighted, that can have a negative impact, not only on the staff members, but also on the island.Did you read about the caring service administered by nurse Munro and the doctor in the maternity unit? Things will improve. Let us pray for each other.
Suggestion. Utilize and build a state of the Art Facility, ( namely a Military type hospital. Why? Guaranteed the state of the art would be idealy, a top of the line outfit, for Grenadian and world citiizekns. Recall we have a University, that is known by world citizens. Ensure that all students could complete their residency here, and not have to go elsewhere, to complete their career. Grenada with a state of the art health hospital, (**a renowned health teaching facility**) (encompassing a sports center wellness outfit, to compliment health,) must be the Caribbean outfit to accommodate all nationalities (from the medical, surgical, cosmetic perspective.) Add the nutrution, and food security aspect to health, making health the holistic epitome of the Caribbean, (our region.) Let the vision be to have Grenada exist, as A ONE STOP DESTINATION, for all citizens essential needs (**health, sports, wellness, nutriion , (food-agriculture) , culture and tourism. God bless our efforts.
So why caliviny? Where is st Patrick's hospital? We are not catering for visitors and foreigners. Let them go to Trinidad and Barbados when they are sick. We need a hospital to benefit Grenadians only. Stop putting all the hospital in st George's this is not nice. Andall spoke about theatre in sauteurs until now. Also the Medical centre close down but still they have none. We need to do better NDC dont let us regret our vote. Because we will put a revelotionary PM next time.
There is a lack of trained staff available to staff all medical facilities in grenada hence the reason more nurses are being trained but training takes time
You have such challenges just GETTING to the hospital and I agree what about the NORTH for a location? Proper EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS who are trained to administer assistance at the site and in the ambulance given the difficulties of transporting injured or ill persons . Better care in the maternity wards. Hospital services in Bath ends of the country. You will NEVER develop MEDICAL TOURISM as a business. Stop setting yourself up for this ridiculous goal. You need to address WATER NEEDS, ELECTRICAL NEEDS, SEWER PROCESSING NEEDS, MEDICAL WASTE HANDLING first! You a tiny island that cannot manage these concerns already .
Absolute waste of tax dollars. An inquiry must be held to find out the beneficiaries of the deal. As many have pointed out it's not the lack of a building but paid trained professionals and well stock medical supplies. Just moneys for the land could drastically change Grenada health services. For example, why do folks have leave Carriacou and Petite Martinique for basic healthcare? Why is there the practice of using ambulance drivers and not trained paramedics? I can't ambulance driver that can help out at an emergency. Outrageous.
You all short staff and don’t even have medical supplies you all talking about new hospital. People in poop on the bed from evening until 8pm they are left there. Patients calling for assistance on the bed and the few staff there running away “I’m coming back” when they do if they do is in hours time. Grenada is no different from Africa. You all not ready yet.
This short staff is currently in every parts of the world. The UK, Canada, the US and the Caribbean. Everyone is running away only to do odd jobs. When they flee to the US and Canada they have no documentation so they are cleaning houses and babysitting. They are not going for better, they are just stupid. There is no bed of roses in these countries except you are documented.
So True! As the saying goes, you don't know what you had until it's gone. Leaving your good job to go to another foreign country to drive taxi, clean homes, work in a factory or macdonalds does it make sense. These countries are not the same anymore. I live in one😊.
The problem is not the building. It's the lack of sufficient, well paid medical staff.
Exactly💯

This level of transparency is great and seems intentions are good. However, look at the valid concerns in other comments.....

Fed up with praying
If there are fund raising for the present hospital now. Fix the one that is there now put that money into the present hospital. Absurd.
