Smiths governor speedometer testing device

I made this device initially to test repaired governor shafts to see if they vibrate at given speeds and to make sure that the governor mechanism worked properly. I then decided to add a pointer to the tester to see if I could plot the movement and also work out angular distances for a given speed, this device is very much work in progress.
