I have been undecided which note taking app I wanted to use - was toying with either Evernote or Notion, but figured OneNote was worth checking since I already have Office 365 subscription. i wasn't all that thrilled with it at first, but your tutorial completely changed my perception. THANK YOU for this clear, concise walk through. Anyone who is new to this app would be wise to invest the time in this wonderfully done course.
This lady is the only one that is really explaining everything clearly and slowly. I am finally understanding more. I tried Notion and personally found it even more confusing than OneNote, although it is very nice if you have the capacity to understand it. Visually Notion is aesthetically pleasing but other than that a lot to understand.

If you're in any application on windows 10 that isn't onenote, pressing windows + shift + s will allow you to snip a box region of the screen and copy it to the clipboard so you can paste it anywhere, not just onenote.

Very good Tutorial. I particularly liked the beginning when you explained the different versions of OneNote that can be found on the same computer. There can be 3 different versions on the same computer, which I did not find any other tutorial explaining, and that made it difficult for me to go on with these other tutorial when the version I was using was different from the one the tutorial is using. I had Microsoft Office 2013 in the past and never even paid attention to what OneNote was. I'd just started to take a look at it in when OneNote for Windows 10 came along, so I switched to that. Not I'm going back to the new OneNote App similar to the original Desktop, and it's like starting all over again. I already liked OneNote. Now I'm falling in love with it all over again! I turned this on and went into the kitchen. I couldn't stop what I was doing. She is well-spoken, and it is easy to understand and follow her.
After 1 hour, they have taught how to open/close a file. If you have ever used any Microsoft Product, you can skip the first hour.
Scratch that.
If you have ever been in a room where someone was on a computer, you already know the first half of this video.
It does have some good uses, though. Any spy or criminal forced to listen to this should confess within a few minutes. Or have you ever had a guest that won't leave? You've put on your pajamas and they still haven't gotten a clue. Just turn this on. They will leave your place screaming and pulling out their hair in just a minute or two.
Who designed a tutorial that covered absolutely no content related to this product?
I need to meditate now, or I will not be responsible for my actions. I wish I could get back this hour in my life.

Hello, I have a question if it is possible to insert a folder in onenote from decope. For example, I have created a folder with the words instructions, inside the folder there are pdf and word files, but I would like to insert the entire folder instructions.Thank you very much for the course, it is very useful and valuable for me. :)

What does the password protect feature can do? Can we prevent shared documents to be changed or have control to see changes made or previous versions of a notebook or section?

I have found your courses very useful! I am wondering for Microsoft Outlook sign in, do they accept personal accounts or not? I have tried to sign in and it says that it is only catered for Business/Work Accounts.
Thank you. This was very informative. In OneNote, is there a way to "Save As"? Here is my issue. I want to have a template to in which I can take notes on using a Tablet like SurfacePro. Then save it under a different Notebook (file) name without over-writing the original. I did find a walk-around and that is to Export the original as *.onepkg and change the file name here.

I have a surface pro 7 with a microsoft stylus pen. Unfortunately the pen does not allow me to select the text tool. I can select it with my finger, just not with the pen. SO I cannot use the pen to select text or move the cursor to a specific letter in the text. Is this the normal dysfunction of onennote, or is this a user training issue?
Wanted to point out that OneNote for Windows 10 has no file menu as shown in this video. Only the OneNote with Office 20xx comes with the File menu.

I can access embedded links in one note, but how can I make that work once I've shared. The person I sent the invite to can't work the links. I should add that he has the same access to the original material that I do.
From all I can find online, the feature that allows for meeting integration with outlook is NOT available for macbooks. While you can email links to pages in your OneNote, I am not finding the feature of integrating email and easily emailing meetings notes with the meeting information attached while using my mac. This is an AMAZING feature and I would love to know how I can use it on my mac. All my work is done on a macbook. I do not have the email or meetings options in my OneNote ribbon. The meetings integrations for sending out meeting notes to attendees via outlook is the feature I am most eager to use. How do I add these features to OneNote on a mac?!
Hi Deborah, awesome video. I have a question for you and anyone that would like to chime in. I work for a government entity and we have to search for documents when a public records request come in. Prior to OneNote, I'd store files on a server and I'd use the search function of Windows File Explorer (a simple keyword and all of the files that have the keyword would appear). Today, when I place the files into a OneNote notebook, as an attachment (not using the "insert printout" option), keyword searches will not work (I hope I'm wrong). As it stands now, I have to activate each notebook and click each and every attached/embedded file individually. Is there anything you can point to that will educate me on how to get similar search method, similar to the File Explorer keyword search approach?

Instead of a OneNote page, I accidentally shared my entire Notebook with one of my colleagues. Removing User in OneNote Shared with People is not working. Even though my Notebook is closed in her app, it can still be viewed or edited at her end. Any idea why?
When I insert a printout... it seems to insert a COPY of the original file... When I modify this COPY, now located in Onenote, I don't see the message that the file is out of date, though I can update the printout, if I remember... Additionally, modifying this copy within notebook, does NOT modify the original on my PC.... I get similar behaviors when inserting a file attachment or existing Spreadsheet... I'm basically inserting a COPY... Is there some setting that I am missing?
I agree with this. I messed around with this all weekend and have determined the Insert File As Printout w/Dynamic Edits behavior has "changed" to how it worked when this video was created. Version called "OneNote for Windows 10" now appears to be the ONLY way something similar can be accomplished; This version only has the following option... Insert - File - (select desired file) - "Upload to OneDrive and insert link". THIS now appears to be the ONLY option that will create a link and a "printout" of the file in a small window which cannot be resized in OneNote(although you can view the contents in the smaller window at 100% size). If you click to "expand" the printout window to "full screen", it opens in your browser, bringin file up online. The ACTUAL file is not the one you can edit, though. The original source file has now been uploaded into a folder that is linked to the OneDrive of the OneNote Account. The link created in the OneNote Notebook is linked to the new file, which CAN be edited and the edits will update dynamically to the printout in OneNote. This way of inserting a file is the ONLY way I can get a visual of the actual file to show in the OneNote AND have that visual be "dynamic" in that updates to the file (which has uploaded to a different location than the original). Per Microsoft, OneNote 2016 is NOW just called OneNote, so I am assuming this "update" took away the ability to allow the inserted files as printouts to be dynamically editable (as shown in this video). Also, changes made to the uploaded file can take a VERY long time to sync everywhere (over 4hrs). Re:Windows for 10 version: If you view it on desktop app OneNote (the old OneNote 2016) version, the printout has to be clicked each time to pull in the content. In conclusion, unless I am missing something, adding files to OneNote that you want to visually see the content and have it be dynamic re: edits is confusing, the printout is small and may not show if you are not connected to internet AND any edits made to the uploaded file may take hours to update in OneNote. If you find this confusing, I agree :)
