That performance advantage coupled with significantly longer range meant that working on the cooling system and safety equipment was well worth the investment.
Funny... 3 of Do335 in simulation, but in real life there were never 3 of Do335 flying together. I am wondering if even 2 of them had the chance to fly together.

Not a single Luftwaffe airplane flew during WW II without the swastika ensign on its vertical rear rudder. This sim game should be designed for juveniles I guess, whatever game it is.

Also, it seems that there was no fighters escorting the B-17s, then why will the attacking Germans attack from the flanks with deflection shots which are easy to miss? Just tail the bomber formation from dead astern and use the 20 mm and 30mm cannons from outside the effective range of the defending 50cal MGs.

The Germans could take out 5-10 Soviet tanks for every one they lost, and still be overwhelmed by massive numbers.

They did fly in a Evaluation Squad, a Spitfire XIV and a Tempest came across them but could not catch them in a dive, the spits wings were so badly bent it was written off.

Eric "Winkle" Brown had some things to say about the aircraft in an interview late in his life. The interview is on UA-cam: "Capt. Eric 'Winkle' Brown: Axis aircraft and ejection systems".

This basic aircraft could have been produced in 1940 and it would have been a beast.
But nobody thought it was necessary.
Wasn't the rear engine prone to catching fire because of serious cooling problems, though?
Also, bailing out would have been quite problematic.

Cool but, NOT accurate. No Mustangs for escorts . The Do 335 never engaged in combat. I believe.

Bf110の開発時にこの機体の発想が有ればと悔やまれてなりません

では、同じ串形双発機なんだけど、エンジンを操縦席の前後に積んで、後部エンジンからシャフト使って機首の二重反転プロペラまわす、一見すると普通の単発機に見える双発機、旧陸軍のKi64とかどうだろう?
翼面蒸気冷却装置とか高度な技術使い過ぎて試作機しかないけど、ちゃんと飛んでるよ。翼に重いエンジンが無いのでロール性能の悪化、空気抵抗の増大が無いのが串形エンジン配置の良い所。後部エンジンをパイロットの防弾版に使えるのも良い。
見事な射撃ですね。
爆撃隊は全滅したんだろうな。
