Thank you so much for sharing this fascinating video. I found it thanks to someone from the Antique Spinning Wheels, Looms and Fiber Equipment Facebook group who shared it to ty to help me with a problem I was having with my Patrick Green carder. I had a PG drum carder that hadn't been used for over 10 years and the licker-in would not move. Many people helped me by letting me know the problem was probably my old drive belt which had stretched and wasn't flexible. I'm working on getting that problem fixed right now and I'm so happy it led me to see your wonderful video. It was fascinating and informative and so fun to watch. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video!

I am glad you found my video useful. I looked for a video on refurbishing the guild's drum carder and there was scant information out in the ether. It was my first attempt at repairing a carder. I made a few mistakes but it turned out OK. The guild now has a renewed machine. Those ladies are so nice I could not let the machine just sit there gathering dust. Thanks for watching.

Hi, John! Beautiful job recovering your drums! Bravo! My only bit of warning is, you do NOT want to have your drum's teeth coming together and grinding together! If you hear any rubbing/grinding, just move the big drum back a wee bit and it'll be fine! The grinding causes the 'teeth' to come out. Happy carding!

It was neat seeing you replace the cloth. I was wondering if you used different tpi for the drums. Normally the small drum(licker in) is a courser tpi say 72 while the main drum is finer by 1 step up 90 tpi.

I used the same TPI for the drum and the licker in. In fact the licker clots was left over from the drum yardage. Thank you.
