I struggled to find the correct pronunciation for most of the destinations in this video so I ended up working with a Malagasy voiceover artist. I found this really interesting as many of the vowels are silent or pronounced differently. If you’re interested in hearing a native speaker pronounce these names, I’ve made a short video, which you can watch here (I don’t think I have commercial rights to this content so it’s unlisted)

Fun fact: You wouldn’t know it from looking at a Mercator projection map, but Madagascar is roughly the size of France, and about 2.4 times the size of the United Kingdom.
Madagascar is in fact part of Africa, it is not just Africa's largest island, it is also one of its major countries since Africa has to most countries of any non-polar continent in the world.

4:20 Where I grew up in Saudi Arabia in the 60s & 70s, the lionfish was seen everytime you jumped into the sea, & called by everyone, a chicken-fish. I still think it's a visually much more appropriate name & never heard of a lionfish till I moved stateside, where they aren't native (but are now an invasive species edging out native fish). Always have wondered why anyone would be inspired to name a fish with 'feathers' sticking out of it "Lion".
Never heard the term Devil Fire Fish, but it beats the other two names!

In the thumbnail, can you have the lemur say the malagasy word for hello, because french is not exclusively spoken in Madagascar.

Its terrible how poor farming methods have destroyed much of Madagascar with the result of topsoil being washed away. Madagascar is one area where birth control needs to become popular before its destroyed by too many people.
