Absolutely. I wish the video was him alone walking through the villages and markets. He can convey much more understanding to all of us so far away...and without the pandering of a white guy trying so hard to fit in but cannot because he thinks he's just so amazing and everybody with whom he interacts gets that he's a jerk. Just another smiling white guy with a camera crew...blows into town...disrupts routines...drives away...says to himself "I've made the world a better place...I am awesome." That young man, with his quiet and patient manner, is who should have presented this piece. We'd have learned more. And that should have been the story. @@tommyrin5969 is that true "Antananarivo" from malay or indonesian language "tanah nan seribu" means thousand of land?
@@ikapuchino Yes it's pretty close, the capital city of Madagascar is Antananarivo which means The Land of Thousand Hills. In Malagasy Tany means land or soil and Tanana means village or place.

My 82 yr old mom enjoyed this video more than other videos on UA-cam.
Well done - Madagascar is one of the countries I would love to visit
I think it's great you are moving away from more common Asian countries. As much as I love them, (I'm a UA-camr in Japan) I'm happy to see other parts of the world from your channel. Keep up the good work!

The banana leafs. In Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand, they use that to wrap the sticky rice and steam it. Yum, it's so delicious!!!
we do the same in Madagascar too true it's very delicious
Very interesting channel to watch. Thanks for the food tour.
One of the absolute best UA-camrs there is out there when it comes to food, I really enjoy watching all of these. If you also enjoy watching food videos, maybe give mine a try and see if you like it? Stay hungry people! ❤️

Just fell in love with Madagascar. Your videos are amazing.
I wish I could meet that smiling smart tour guide JOEL one day after this corona all done. hope he's o.k.
Absolutely. I wish the video was him alone walking through the villages and markets. He can convey much more understanding to all of us so far away...and without the pandering of a white guy trying so hard to fit in but cannot because he thinks he's just so amazing and everybody with whom he interacts gets that he's a jerk. Just another smiling white guy with a camera crew...blows into town...disrupts routines...drives away...says to himself "I've made the world a better place...I am awesome."
That young man, with his quiet and patient manner, is who should have presented this piece. We'd have learned more. And that should have been the story. One major theme could have been "waste nothing" and use everything edible...a lesson that the West has forgotten.
