This is the "swooniest" movie ever. Bravo to the writers, director and mostly especially Taylor and Nicolas. The number of times I've watched is embarrassing but I catch new nuances each time. Bravo everyone. The adaption from the book is brilliant. There's a lot going on in the book and I'm glad the focus was on Alex and Henry. Hope we get to see this beautiful couple and love story again in a sequel. After-all, they can make more history. ❤

Not to be “that guy”, but their relationship actually began at the Climate Summit in Melbourne years before. Henry said that basically he was mean to Alex because he was instantly attracted to him. Both of them have been low key obsessed with each other ever since.
Genuine question: what does it mean when someone says "that guy" or "that girl"???? I never understood the meaning. Anytime I hear someone say it, its obviously said with negative undertones but I don't get what the "that" is supposed to mean in context. They'll be like, "you're being “that” guy!" Or "you're “that” girl!" Or "you're “one of those!” " Like, what the hell is “one of those”???? One of what???? “That” what???? I don't know. I hope I made sense.
I love how they tell everybody their relationship started in New Year’s even though it technically started in March after the prime minister’s dinner at the White House. In New Year’s Henry kissed Alex and then ghosted him until the dinner in March so it’s not like they were together, but they still consider New Year’s the beginning of their relationship, so they’re admitting that for two months, they were thinking about each other despite not being officially together.
I am definitely not one of those suckers for romantic films, but these two had me kicking my feet in the air. Hands down, the best romantic movie I have seen in modern times. Can't get enough of them ugh
Notice that Alex didn't hesitate to push Henry into the closet when the 'shots' were fired in the hospital. Henry just stood still for a moment but Alex acted right away. Even though they hate each other at the moment i just like that Alex still reacted to protect someone
I wrote this for another video on the Dynamic Duo After they hid in the janitor's closet, another video joked about "Henry remembering that Alex is American." But when you think about it, there may be some truth to that. Alex is young enough to constantly have shooter drills in school. He's from a state that is known to praise gun ownership. He may have been what two or three (if he was even born yet) when Columbine happened and while this is set two years before Uvalde would have taken place in his home state of Texas, who knows what mass shootings may have occurred in their universe. Plus, the awareness of the First Family's lives constantly being in jeopardy as public figures is always there. Plus, if it's anything like in reality I'm sure the First Female President with a Latino husband and biracial son have probably received numerous death threats from alt-right hate groups (not to mention that those threats may increase now that the First Son and Prince of England have come out).

It’s beautiful how they manage to encapsulate all the emotions and the acting was surreal. If there’s no continuity at least give us the deleted scenes or the behind the scene. All of the actors really got into their element and executed it with such conviction. It’s one of the best releases I’ve ever seen. Watched it 3 times and I want more…yeah…🙃
Can't seem to enjoy anything else after watching this movie. Always just rewatching it over and over whenever I have time hoping that it will have additional scenes when I do, which I know will not be there. Round of applause to insanity.
When the book first came out, i remember saving every penny to buy the latest edition of it. When i finally got it, i could not STOP reading it, Henry and Alex really captured my heart. My highschool version, who couldnt wait to have her own copy of the book, is kicking her feet and giggling watching this!!!

Oh my...I've watched it four times and bought the book. This movie is amazing: there's romance, laughter, hilarity, love, friendship and bravery in it and I think it is why everyone can't stop watching it. It is enriching for people's souls I guess❤
That piano scene... Henry was playing "Sheep may safely graze" symbolising safety once they're reunited. Then he switched to "Yankee Doodle" (American patriotic song) and then they both smiled. Alex came and tried to play "God save the King" (British anthem). That scene really melts my heart. It's a scene straight out of my life, except for I was playing a Christmas carol, and not sheep may safely graze. (I am a British man married to an American woman.) I saw that scene over 100 times. I wish she was still here with me.
Alex kissed back (outside in under the tree)--hope the author and producers/director can work together to screen write a part 2-the scene at the lake--the emotions all at once in Nicholas face, haven’t a clue what it took to bring that up to convey---Would it have been as effective & popular if this was done as parts released each week VS one whole movie???

In the book, Alex has a sister named June. With Henry's sister Bea, they all collectively become the Power 6. There's really great interaction between all of them. There wasn't enough time in a 2 hour movie to show all of that, unfortunately.
Everyone expects heartbreak to be a romantic one but the loss of someone who loved you so purely and unconditionally is so much worse. For me it was two of my cousins I was raised with, lost them both within a month and a half in separate car accidents. I’d take the pain of a 100 breakups over the pain of losing them again

The cast is a perfect fit. Everyone plays their part well, but Nick’s serious acting chops helps to really elevate this movie.
