    I love this wonderful wool hat. I'm in the country here at home and this is exactly the type of projects I see in the winter time. It has a homemade look and feel and yet trendy and fashionable. It's the mix of both warmth and style at the same time.

    This is the most beautiful hat I've ever made! i couldn't find the yarns of the pattern but i made one of the colors with a double strand and another one with a thicker woolish yarn... it came out so pretty. the ribbing takes a little bit of extra time but the actual hat whips up in 1 hour. loved it! i am definately making many more in different color combos. thanks Mikey for this great tutorial. You are so good at it. Even my left handed 7 year old son is learning from the begginers series that you have and he is loving every minute. Thanks again... cheers from the amazon jungle!

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  6 років тому +1

      I picked up the sock yarn at a local store. If you cannot find sock yarn. You can go online to yarnspirations.com and order sox yarn. Bernat Sox is the most inexpensive and then there is Patons Kroy Sock yarn that is more higher end that is availble there too.

    That was so much easier then I expected! Mikey, can I make this larger..I don't want a tight fitting hat..losey ..no slouchy..us rather the brim be a lil snug and the hat portion bigger..How would I do that? Longer as well bit I'm sure that just adding rows to the process where you stopped in measuring..is keep going..correct? Oh! Thinking of issuing Bernat blanket 1I have it and to I like the buttery feel :-)

      TheOneAndOnlyMHudson- yes, from UK as well and we can't get any wool like patens and I am so sad that we can't get any thick wool like that. :(

  • @julkakulka95

    will I need more yarn if I want to make a little bit bigger one? Pattern says it's one size for average women and I want to make one for my dad and he's got quite big head. :) I want to order wool as soon as possible but adding a ball makes the hat quite expensive :

    Mikey have you lined a hat or baby blanket? I made a granny square baby blanket,but did not like the look of the wrong side,thought about putting fleece on the Wong side and wondered how it would look.

    • @jo-anne8111
      @jo-anne8111 8 років тому +1

      it can look really good depending how you attach the fleece there are videos on here about doing it and I think fleece would be nice and soft for a baby blanket : )

    • @patriciah3235
      @patriciah3235 6 років тому

      Reconsider a lining. Crocheted blankets allow for air to circulate AND I still like to put my fingers in A crocheted afghan.😊

  • @jessien3089

    What darning needle is that???! I cannot find it anywhere, the closest thing I've found is in a needle leather repair kit called a "Sail". When i went to the store their darning needles are all straight not curved. Is it blunt or sharp? I saw a curved/angled "tapestry" needle but I don't know if that's the same thing. I know nothing of needles or sizes.

    • @cpntexas9294

      I did a google search. I found one on Amazon. Susan Bates Needles Bent Tip Steel #13 & #16. I'm going to order it and I'll let you know.

    • @jessien3089
      @jessien3089 6 років тому

      Cilia Priddy I just bought the "sail" needle, it's a leather repair kit I found at my Walmart. They have smaller ones in the kit but they're not curve and they all have this shovel like point. I've been using it so far with no problems, the shovel head seems to help the needle glide through the stitches easily so that's a plus.

    • @cpntexas9294

      Jessie N I bought those needles last night at hobby lobby. I love it! It’s so easy and the weaving is more hidden.
