    You are such an excellent calm teacher - I've been keeping my eyes open for someone to explain how to do this in understandable terms for a total beginner, and you did a terrific job! Thank you.

    Fantastic, Clare!! The main details of gelly plate image transfer were very well covered. I'm puzzled by one thing, though: In other videos, people said that we have to invert the letters before printing, or else the letters would appear inverted (e.g., Love-evoL). But you didn't invert, and the letters were perfectly written. PLEASE do more videos! Your channel is one of the best and most creative that I've found in my endless research. God bless you! 😘

      Thank you so much! Your kind words are really encouraging. To (try) answering your question about the text - On the original image, the text isn’t reversed. When you transfer the image (text) onto the plate, the text is then reversed. Therefore, when you pull the final print the text is in the right direction again. I hope that makes sense. 🙂

      @@ClareCosensDesigns Thank you for your kind reply! Yes, it does make perfect sense. I made a quick test with big words on paper over the plate and held them together. Then I lifted the plate, and the words were in the right direction on the other side. I guess the information I had was about letters on a stencil, not transfer. Thanks again and God bless you 😘

      @@Lu-Heringer Yes, you definitely have to lay down a text stencil in reverse 🙂

    Hello! I just found your videos, and I’m so glad I did! I’m new to gelli printing, so I’ve been watching lots of videos. Yours is the best I’ve found! You are clear and concise, and you explain the why of what you’re doing! Also appreciate that you don’t play any music! I did subscribe and give you a thumbs up.❤

    This video is the best most complete on transferring images! Thank you. What is an equivalent of your paper in the USA?

    • @ClareCosensDesigns
      @ClareCosensDesigns  2 місяці тому

      Thank you! In answer to your question about paper, I honestly don't know. I'm not using a specialist paper, it is just a 120gsm (slightly heavier than regular) copier paper. The key thing is that it is 'Ultra Smooth'. The brand name is Navigator, and I buy it from Amazon. I just googled it and this seems to be the closest that they have on the USA site navigator-paper.com/usa/range/digital/32
      I hope this helps 😊

    I have tried this to no avail but I don't think I was using the correct paper or image. I tried with a magazine image and nothing happened. You make it look easy!

    • @ClareCosensDesigns
      @ClareCosensDesigns  Місяць тому

      It takes a lot of practice. Vogue magazine is a good one to practice with. You need to make sure you are choosing an image that is high contrast. 🙂

      I have a 16”x20” plate. I can’t get my hands on laser prints that big to do large scale image transfers. I will experiment with trying to collage multiple images together 🙂

    Love your videos. Just discovered your UA-cam channel and have subscribed. Can you tell me the brand of 160 gsm cartridge paper you use please? Is it slightly textured?

    • @ClareCosensDesigns
      @ClareCosensDesigns  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you for subscribing! The brand of cartridge paper I use is Seawhite of Brighton (UK). They have different weights, I use 160gsm, I find it a good weight to play on. Smooth paper is best 🙂
