I'm still enjoying it. I don't have a PC, just a low spec laptop which I use to play modded PES 2017 till date (as it's the latest PES game that can run smoothly.
I went back to PES 2017 a couple of months ago, just for the 'was it as good as I remember' nostalgia, now I've got it modded and is all I play, just a great game of football.
Can't believe this game released 5 years ago, used to love this game alot, not minding mods or anything, just playing this game for fun with Real Madrid, I remember the joy back then because I took a break from playing PES from PES12, so 5 years forward I'm playing this. Might be interested to play this gems again.
PES 2019 has the best looking body types and kit shape/fit of them all. PES 2017 they look bottom heavy and baggy big shorts. And running animations were improved in PES 2018.
PES 2020/21 the arms were too big and of course the shirts were comically large too. PES 18 the players were a bit too thin and PES 17 the players were more bulky. I don't know why Konami could never get a balance player model and stick with it.
ahhh i agree but the shorts were too big make them smaller and its perfect.. and yea pes 19 actually has better graphics than pes 20 and 21 look up a comparison you'd be surprise
I wish we could have PES 2017 gameplay with PES 2019 visuals. I've been playing between the two games and defender AI/player switching is infuriating in 2019. Players just stopping or hesitating all over the place and CPU cheesing the wings like nothing else! 2017 feels so dynamic in comparison.
PES 2017 is a much better and more fun game than 2021, the AI is so fun to play here and just on default no mods needed! There was no legend on here, that came in 2018 but as you can see superstar is more than enough.
From this gameplay we can see some stuff that Konami didn't bother about fixing for years (AI making subs in the 46th minute instead of doing it at halftime) and some stuff that was actually BETTER in this game (the AI gameplay, their passing was so much better compared to today's AI, which passes the ball around in a very robotic way, with perfect long balls all the time). it's sad to see that they actually do not care about this stuff, they'd rather throw all ther money at MyClub than working on their AI, ML transfers and depth, BAL, etc.
Pes 17 was not perfect but at least when I clicked the button player would react to it. I felt like I am in control of the game. The responsiveness in later games made me quit PES.
Same bruv. I’ve stopped playing pes since last year. Every time I’m on the ball, it just feels like my player will do some dumb shit and I’ll lose possession. Too many heavy touches, scrappy plays, extra touches, trash dribbling and responsiveness, players behaving like they’re on weed, ignoring passes, teammates colliding into each other. I just couldn’t continue. I tried pes21, and it’s the same as 20. At this point I’m just playing fifa and waiting for pes22
@@zumbapes its trash unfortunately. 2019 inherited the terrible AI of 2018. From 2018 onwards they stopped focusing on offline AI and started focusing on MyClub. Things started going downhill from there.

Hi. Really enjoyed this one. Is there anywhere I could get hold of the option files that were released at the time on PS4? With the death of PES, I planning to stick with this one going forward. Thanks in advance :)
You can see the "snappy-ness" of passing the ball around even by only watching. The snappy-ness and overall responsiveness went away with PES 2019. 2018 was quite good, still. Played that one mostly through the lifecycle of PES 2020 even. 2019 and 2020 (minus DP 1, 4 and maybe 5, I think were the better ones) were unresponsive rubbish for the most part. Watching this reminds me of the good old days before they ruined dribbling by moving tight-dribbling from R2+LS to RS, thus overcomplicating some tricks like the Roulette and simple stepovers by requiring you to use R2 in addition to RS and LS. This and having to move your right thumb away from the face-buttons (passing, shoooting, long-pass) for doing something you already to with the left stick (i.e. moving your player with the ball) was one of the dumbest ideas they had in recent PES-history. It just makes no sense, at all. And regarding body-feints, I'm pretty sure they work the same as in most PES games before the finesse-dribbling era. That is, flicking RS to one side then LS to opposite. I'm not sure, though, if 2017 already had the more subtle body feint of later games, done by quickly flicking only LS to one side.
PES 17 was a fun game, but of course it had it's issues. Scripting of course won't come into play until later in ML. The game was more responsive but also too fast. The shots were too powerful (look at that G Bale goal). The free kicks were better IMO, dribbling was a lot more snappy and satisfying to do, the AI read your moves less unlike now when skill moves take an age and the AI seem to read your input and react before the skill is executed. Overall PES 17 was a quite fun game to play, but overall was it really better that the PES 21? Probably not. There's definitely a lot of issues with '17 we've forgotten about and won't discover until you play the game for a longer period. There's also nostalgia bias and negative recency bias cos the issues of 21 are very fresh in mind. 17 was more arcade in style, less realistic, maybe that makes it more fun for us now looking back, something a bit different for sure.
