That spring water looks beautiful. Gotta respect those sippers. I had a great day on the WB Delaware yesterday. Caught a bunch of nice fish. Btw that small 2 car parking access near Barking Dog has been POSTED. Went this past Sunday and could not park there. That’s 2 parking access gone in the last 2 years that I know of. As much as I complain about it, there is so much less trash in those Posted areas now. This past Saturday, all parking lots for the WB D were full like I’ve never seen them. Each pool had 5-10 people fishing. It was insane. Luckily if you walk away from the parking lots you could get some relief but it was INSANE. DEPOSIT is super chunky soup. Didn’t even fish Deposit while I was there from Saturday to Monday night.
Hello buddy! That’s a shame about the posted signs, guess we’ll have to just wade or walk further. Beginning of Summer, schools letting out, vacation times, all spell crowded fishing, make sure you have a plan B and C. Good to hear you had some fun fishing despite the crowds. Oh yeah, that is a tailwater I’m fishing, not a spring creek, very similar though. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@pawoodsnwater7551 I had 3 awesome days. Landed a 17+ inch rainbow on my own tied #14 sulphur parachute (east branch) and 20+ inch brown on a #12 caddis emerger (west branch) and a ton of nice fish, all on dries from 9am to 9pm. Believe it or not I didn't fish a ISO or spinner, although I saw a bunch of real ones.
Again, thank you for the wonderful video. Beautiful stream. Water so clear, yet you had no problem catching trout. May I ask what size tippet you were using?
Good morning Joe! That’s a great memory. The dam did bring us a great cold water fishery, there’s so much refuge water on that stream that gives so many fish protection, incredible population. It is still a fantastic stream, don’t know if you’re able to fish it again but you should, maybe it’ll bring back more good memories. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Good morning Scott. Enjoyed this video. I was fishing this past Wednesday. I tried something that I had some success with. There were a few fish risings. So I tied on a size 16 blue winged dry. They were refusing them so on the hook shank about 12 inches behind I tied on an a size 18 rusty spinner. I ended up catching fish on both? I’ve a dry dropper before but never two dry small drys. Your thoughts 👍thanks again Scott I always enjoy your videos and your comments
Hi Mike! Well, I’ve tried two dries before but felt one usually pulled on the other often not getting a good drift most times, but I guess that’s pretty dependent on the water you’re fishing. But hey, anything can work on any given day, you tried and it worked for you this day 👍🏻, good for you, it’s good to experiment. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Hi John, Hope you had a great Father's day. Thanks for this video. Took me back 50 years before the auto accident that destroyed my low back. At least I can still remember those fun filled fishing trips. Stay safe.
Hi Don! Nice to “meet” you! Sorry to hear about your back, if you can’t get out on the water , maybe just fishing around a nice pond for sunnies and bass can fill the void, maybe even sitting on a dock might be tolerable. Hopefully my videos help you feel like you’re in the water with me. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
I Love when you give praise to the Lord while successful! I do that on the water as well! Great video Buddy! Will try to to send some shots from the Ken Lockwood Gorge trip with my brother and Erik! Be well and keep at it my friend!
GM ... your video is very timely for me. I know those waters well and was there within the same timeframe as you. Lots of rising trout, which seemed to be taking emergers of some sort. I tried everything ... sulphur dries, klinkhammer emergers, wet flies, dry droppers and only managed one on a sulphur dry. Will be hitting the creek again and will be tying up the patterns that worked for you. Thank you!
I went back and did well on a Sulphur all yellow cripple size 18 with a light dun wing and a size 20 tan caddis, give them a shot also. Early morning and evening are much better.
Hi buddy! Yes, plenty of Sulphurs, two types, a bigger one midday, like a 14-16, then the 18s in the evening, I also saw a few big Light Cahills. What was nice was that even though I was struggling midday I still had plenty of rising fish to focus on, just super picky! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you Rich! I feel for your rehab and challenge, I do somewhat understand me being a nurse for 35 years, but hopefully fly fishing could be a bright spot in your therapy. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Was in the same spot last Sunday, the water was crystal clear and cold, the fish would move out of the way of the 7x leader, your right, best to fish later in the day, until dark. very small sulfur.
Hi Jay! Yep, actually fished it again last Friday after the rain storm, did well, but hit a different area. Maybe we’ll bump into each other one time. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Scott happy fathers day Your dry fly action put some nice fish in the net That stream looked real low and clear like here in W Pa Keep up the good work and stay safe
Hi Snook and thank you! Well, actually that is an average flow for that stream, it does have a bunch of deep areas, but most of them are hard to wade or hard to access, but the good thing is those areas are a refuge for the trout which helps keep the holdovers and wild brownie populations very good there. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Hey Scott. Great video of some dry fly action. Enjoyed it. Been away for a bit from your videos, but glad to be back. Had some family things happening. Will be on the water tomorrow here in Idaho! Stay safe and hope you had a great Father’s Day!!
Hi Brian! Glad to have you back, you’ll have to do some binge watching to get up to speed, ha! Hope you have a great day tomorrow. Catch a big boy and have fun!
Hi Scott! Great dry fly footage! That is some clear water for sure! Great patience fishing with tiny flies! That was a fun one to watch. Happy Fathers Day!
Thank you Jeff! Happy Father’s Day to you too. Gin clear water and super picky fish, a recipe for a frustrating day, but a day we learn the most. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Happy Father’s Day Scott! I do have to agree with Ed, looks an awful like the Poho. Water temperatures there are very similar as you described. Was just there recently and did really well on a dry caddis size 20 and a Griffiths gnat size 22. Enjoy the remainder of your Father’s Day, and God bless you.✝️
Hey Michael! Happy Father’s Day to you too. You gotta good eye 👁️. Seen some caddis but no great numbers. Fishing the Bushkill you are used to challenging streams. Hope you have s good day with the kids. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hello Jerome! Well, maybe because of editing it looked that way but from 12 noon until around 4pm it was sooo frustrating, so many refusals, misses and pattern changes. But I thought action would pickup at towards evening , so I took a break for a quick dinner and came back recharged for the evening rise. Well, you saw that was a good decision. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Hey Scott! On this day what were the CFS? The water seemed really low! Also what size tippet were you using? 6x or 7x? On the dropper, were you catching on the midge ? Or on the dry fly?
Yo yo Yota! I think the flow was around 100cfs, I was using 7x Flouro tippet, I stopped using the dropper shortly after I started because I switched over to the Griffiths Gnat. Hope that information helps. Thanks for watching and commenting.
That sounds like my day on teh west branch last week. I don't think we quite figured out what fish were eating consistently. I caught fish, and spent a long time working a nice rainbow (which got one attempt at a take) and a big brown (which finally ate a sulphur emerger after a half an hour), and it was still a lot of fun.
I love the challenge of trying to figure them out, most times they win, but I get a good day too every now and then. I may travel up to the WB this Wednesday if everything works out. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Wow, Scott, you weren't kidding about how clear the water is in this week's video! John and I were in a stream in NJ Sunday and I was just starting to move to the next pool when I looked up and a 600lb plus bear was crossing the stream in front of me! Needless to say we got out of there
Smart move Erik, I don’t play with bears. And yes, that water was crystal clear, you’d think you could see the fish, no way, they just blend right into that cobblestone bottom. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Hi Craig! Hope you had a good Father’s Day too. Funny thing is, you’d think with water that clear you be able to see the fish. No way!! They still just blend into the bottom gravel until they move a little. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hello buddy! What’s the deal with that thinking!? Something against a downstream approach or presentation in the UK? I’m curious 🧐. Thanks for watching and commenting.
YES!! That’s the dry fly addiction! I was using 7x tippet this day, tiny flies and gin clear smooth water made it necessary. I sometimes love the technical days, ha, if I’m having success. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Very inspired by your approach the way you read the water ..I had days when they wouldn't touch nothing I thought would work.. that;s why I read the reports Delaware River Club and a few other .. than I look up and try to tie some similiar patterns using youtube videos lol.. I hope to have a few days this week even though hate high 80s 90 degree weather.. i have to take the time when I can ..man thank goodness for them tailwaters!

Good morning Chip! Turn the jealousy into inspiration to practice your dry fly game, I’d love for you too to do the same. You can get there, it takes a commitment to dries and accepting some slow times but eventually things start to come together on those days where the fish cooperate and you can put it all together. Sometimes practicing on bass and sunnies are just the ticket and still fun. Just some suggestions and words of encouragement. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I fished that stream as a young man before they built the dam. We fished miles upstream and it was fantastic.
