Bro the same thing you are talking about is a conversation I've had with a good friend of mine that has his own numbers some timeago, but you are absolutely right about what you are speaking to, if you are going to get into this game you need to do your do diligence and not depend on how others are doing in the game what is good for others may not work for you, this is not a plug-in play kind of thing there are levels to this to learn about. Anyway I just thought I'd chime in with agreement and to say excellent video keep pumping out the good content👍👍👍👍👍

I tow and have towed over size/ over height for almost 7 years. I have never run a pole vehicle. When you pull permits you tell them the height.
As long as your under 15’ your good. I’ve towed 16’ tall with just a permit l, no pilot cars and no pole

"Your life and situation has to be set up just right" 💯
It's definitely not one size fits all. A lot of different factors come into play that determines your experience as an owner-op. I know people that do nothing but Amazon, and content with their lifestyle. However, they dont have truck/trailer payments, good insurance rates, and other streams of income. Whereas someone that has truck/trailer payments, high insurance premiums, etc...Amazon won't cut it.

Also back when the trucking game was fire. I never had time to upload any type of videos. I was chasing that money. Now that the industry is kinda in a top spot, I just started uploading day the life type crap. I should've did it since day one I probably would have been where you're at youtube speaking. Anyways, keep up the good work, man. The father and son thing is awesome.

Naw everyone running to heavy hauling because these gurus who haven't been doing this 5yrs and under gassing people up you NEVER see us vets with 10 plus years doing that because it's LEVELS to get to this so heavy hauling is becoming like dryvan... I'm glade you giving ADVICE and not pushing people to get into this. People gotta learn how to crawl before they walk everyone just wanna get out and run

It comes down to confidence in self, and attention to detail. This stuff isn't rocket science. Some people are built different. The only boundaries are the boundaries you place on yourself.

@vicjjr31 Na bud it’s level to it. I want to get into heavy hauling one day. I’ve only been driving a year, started dry van, then reefer and now I’m flatbed. To me you start out with dry van, least responsibility then reefer just because it’s a tad more responsibility. Then flatbed more work and responsibility. Then I feel after that maybe you venture into tanker or oversized. I think people don’t respect trucking enough and feel they can start there entitled ass
      Es at the top.

I appreciate you spitting some facts. Most people say these gross numbers and like oh man. What have I gotta do to get into that? They don't know the cost involved me Personally Over a hundred k in the last six months Just to stay in business. Now, do not get me wrong That's not an expense that occurs all the time. I unfortunately had to put a brand new motor in I. Decided to go with a fresh cat sitting on a crate from Caterpillar with the warranty. In my eyes, that's the best way to go. It alleviates that major headache on what if this happens. Anybody can go out there and pull these big numbers. That's a lot of trendy youtubers. How much did I make this week? Man, they are not telling you what they netted. Right now in the industry, our net income sucks. I don't care what trailer you're pulling. The way I run my company and rules that I stand by I. Refuse to let my equipment get run into the ground for little money. I stay on top my maintenance. And make sure I'm tip top. Regardless on how much I'm making or not making sure at times it sucks but. When there's that next uptick in the freight market, I'll be able to run my truck hard as a motherfucker and able to make that money and have little downtime.

Biggest problem is doing oversized without having direct customers. Like everything else people always think the grass is greener somewhere else. Things will eventually come back up but will only stay that way for a very short bit because then people will start buying trucks and flood the capacity again. I think it still has room to get worse before it gets better. A change in administration next January will not make things better right away, but it will allow people to plan better. You mentioning insurance is what really people need to pay attention to. I think insurance will be the limiting factor preventing people from coming into or continuing in the industry. There are less companies writing commercial policies and those that are keep increasing premiums. We have all the billboard lawyers to thank for that.

Same here. Parked my RGN and started running power only. Less stress and lower expenses, considering I don't have trailer maintenance to consider. I'd rather preserve my equipment for a better market...or until I get direct clients.

ATS is not a good company !
    1. They are currently losing a lot of contracts!
    2. Black drivers as a hole do not get a fair shot at moving up to multi axle trailers. In recent times they have aloud more Black drivers a chance to pull a 35 ton trailer.
