So how much is the final cost of building this model ?
128 x £10.99 plus £8.98
I built the Hatchette Bismark with the all metal hull, brilliant model but I collected all the issues before starting it which took nearly three years of waiting. You will probably find that Hatchette provides far more screws than you actually need and if you have a problem with the model in that something breaks or arrives damaged they will send new parts very quickly. The instructions are very easy to follow (or they were with Bismark) and not the 'badly translated from Chinese' that we see so much today.
Love your enthusiasm and no prolonged instructions!
Start of an epic build Wayne! It is worth noting that the seven men who crewed this particular Lancaster on the Dams Raid, none of them survived the war.
I'm glad of your channel as I have a small flat and have no space for any of these builds so I feel like I get some of the experience.
Great video Wayne. When I glue in plastic glass i always use rocket glaze and glue. Dries clear and doesn't cause any fogging.
Every time i see your films i think of waynes world, party time 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 love your films.
Thanks Wayne you've made my Xmas. Looking forward to making this model with you.
Merry Christmas Sir Wayne! and a Happy New Year to come, may all your work be ease and your fingers never stick.
You have access to so many nice models. Hopefully some of them will come here.
Happy Christmas to you and your family Wayne. Hope you all have a good one.
Great model, the only worry I would have is not being able to get the magazines to complete this great aircraft.
The Lancaster at Hendon is S Sugar that flew from R.A.F. Bottesford, in Leicestershire. Gibsons Lancaster was struck off charge and unceremoniously scrapped in the late 40's I believe, but would have to check my source. Such a shame they diddnt preserve that one also.
Thats right and the same with Mickey Martins P Popsie they both hung around as station flight aircraft until around 1947.
I'm looking forward to seeing you build this iconic bomber.
Merry Christmas Wayne to you and your family!
Have a great Christmas Wayne and Esther and family ❤
Wayne,
Here in the States they've medical grade "Super Glue" that does not fog. It's usually marketed to the Modeler as "Foam Safe" and as adverstised, does not fog. Certainly it's available in England as well.
Mitch
Happy Christmas, my friend and many good wishes and fun builds for the new year🎉🎉
You too Lou.
Forget the question as you confirmed it's in the shops
This looks like its gonna be a great new build. Happy Christmas
Happy Christmas Wayne to you and your family, keep up the excellent builds.👍👍👍
Happy Christmas to you and mrs world of Wayne 🎄🎄
This is the only aircraft that I want to build. and I think that the details will be amazing. Merry Christmas to you and Mrs world of wayne
I think I will build this. It looks really good and interesting to build
Nice surprise on this Christmas Eve morning! Merry Christmas to you and your family. 🎄🎅
I wish you a merry Christmas Wayne🤗
merry christmas Wayne and family hope you have a good one
Very cool! Looking forward to seeing it come together
Probably already been mentioned. But the props on the real thing rotate thee other way. It also looks like the prob blades are also around the wrong way too
Awesome Video and I hope you are able to finish the Lancaster bomber build 😊
even before you explained what this build was I called it "the damn buster" back when you were doing the spitfire or one of the other early aircraft I looked up some videos and as a result one of the random videos that popped up for m,e was a short documentary video on this very aircraft and it's special payload HAHAHA. it was awesome to see how they texted it and figured out how to get the barrel spinning before dropping it.
Just subscribed to the model can't wait to build.
Can't wait to start this build, have no idea where I'm going to display it though, lol Nice tip with the glue,
Looking forward to part 2 & 3 of this bomber four engines. ❤❤😊😊
Hey Wayne, my wife and I wish you and the mrs, a very very blessed Merry Chrsitmas and Happy New Year.
I have got to get on this build! The Dambusters is one of my all time favourite films! I bet this this isn't on sale in Germany!😁
Good work as always sir 👍 merry Christmas to you and yours 🎄🎄
Happy Christmas Wayne. Thanks for beating the Saints the other night.🎄🏈🏴☠️
Lol. That last quarter was sketchy though lol
Merry Christmas Wayne. Glad to see this model finally come out. There is an Apache Helicopter from Agora(?) coming soon. That is one I'll likely get. One mistake in your wording I believe. It's not a PILOT tube its a PITOT tube. This is what causes many plane crashes. It is where the instruments get the outside measurements like airspeed. When it ices up, bad things happen.
Yes Lancaster PA269 from 300 sq with a Polish Crew crashed in Wigston Leicestershire in February 1946 on a training flight. Very bad weather and ice forming on the Pitot tube were given as the causes, tragically all the crew died however the Pilot Romuald Sulinski just managed to pull the Lanc over the local school thereby saving the life of 80 pupils and staff. In the late 1970's a new school was built and during the construction they found some pieces from the Lanc. Now there is a very nice memorial in the school to the crew
The Lancaster like the Bismarck has now made a welcome return in what appears to be a more simplified from of design and assembly. I remember building both over ten years ago (the hull of the original Bismarck what a cow that was to put together) and having to deal with the multi media parts count and wooden assembly both of which tried my patience many times ......lol.
I just did the Bismark, believe me the all metal sectioned hull was a doddle to put together, so much better that the wood hull I have seen on you tube vids
Hi Wayne hope you are well. Shame I missed the Christmas quiz 😢. Wishing you All a merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year.
Another model I can only wish makes it to the USA
Looking like it's going to be a great build, just ashame I have 3 others builds to do, as I would love to do this build but my budget will not allow it. As always another great video
MERRY CHRISTMAS WAYNE .
I worked out the cost of this model, including binders, to be not far short of £1500. For info, the Lancaster at Hendon is a Mk.1, rather than a B.III.
Ahhh
Not worth that
The Border Models (ex Wingnuts) 1/32 kit is about 600 pound and thats considered expensive....
They do this every new year and it's an absolute con. Can't believe people fall for it still.
Total madness!
I like that Avro Lancaster 1/144 model on the stand i want that for myself. Nice bomber of WW2 RAF.
First thing I noticed was the lack of dihedral on the wings. The outer wings should be angled slightly upwards. It's painful to look at!
I wish they would bring out the wooden one again I enjoyed building that
Just started this along with E.T. Hope no more partworks come out in the next year that I want!!
A merry xmas wayne, ur good lady and the family, and all the best in the new yr
Thanks, already subscribed.
good vid on channel keep upo the cool builds on channel merry chrismas thanks lee
I have the other Hachette Lanc without the sounds and things and it's a beast but it's a glue together not screwed like this one..
Hi Wayne lovin' this video so far I built the Routemaster bus a couple of years ago I enjoyed it so much there was a couple of issues with that along the way but anyway I've bought the first three issues of the Lancaster bomber so looking forward to this build ilive in Ireland and every week it's going to cost me 17euros a week😢
Yes it’s expensive but it’s all about what you’re into. And you get a set off magazines as well I guess
I still haven't built the one that came out previously
Just had an email from Hachette saying there is a delay in my order, this due to no fault of my own it’s on their side. Not a good start to the build is this a sign of things to come 🤔
Nice 1 Wayne, im 4month without no r2d2 issues August my last
great video i have just subscribed for the Lancaster could be a long haul being 130 issues about 32 months but looking forward to it
Have you added up the total price?
yes its about £1400 over 32 months
Nice add
I,m gnna pass/say no however if it was the Avro vulcan bomber then i would be all in depending on the scale and size of it
yes!!!!!
Im first. I've been looking forward to this build for quite some time. Have a great christmas Wayne and Mrs World of Wayne.
You have to go to Hendon. I used to go there a lot when I lived in London but do not get to go there now. Love to make this one but have no space to put it.....Happy Christmas to you both.
Great vid 💞🙏🍺🐕
raf hendon is massive
Man it was a while ago that you did the trial for this build, I'd completely forgotten about this. Let's hope it ends up better than the Spitfire eh? Happy Christmas to you and Mrs WoW :)
Just going to buy a Airfix
I have sunscribed to watch you build this fantastic model. Even though i really do think it is a fantastic model i wont be buying it. The main reasons for that are lack of space to display or store such a large model and these part works aren't the most reliable at delivering each issue. Most recently my wife subscribed to the Age of Sigmar partwork from the same company. Very quickly the monthly issues starting arriving late and then not at all resulting in a very disappointed 12 year old. I had a similar issue when buying the Millenium Falcon partwork from another company... even though i managed to obtain all 100 issues in the end. So i'll look forwards to your build and get my enjoyment from watching you build.
Hey I’ve subscribe great vid I’ve just signed up to this can’t wait to start
That model looks to be rather short of dihedral. And I worked on the last Lancasters in the RAF
Hi wayne while watching I notice a noise while you were speaking
Yep. That's the orrery squeaking
Have you calculated how much it will eventually cost?
£1419.70. Wow.
I hope it’s better quality than the disaster that was the spitfire
Wayne i think you might find that the part you called a pilot tube is a pitot tube for measuring speed 😀😀 Merry Christmas to you and Mrs WoW and all the family and woof to the dogs
It's a peto tube
@@malthuswasrightYes, correct but spelt "pitot" invented by Henri Pitot (agh French!) 👍🇬🇧
Naughty of the advert to call it the Dambuster bomber because that's a BIII /Special/ not a standard BIII which the kit probably is.
I noticed it doesn't have the dorsal turret, does that mean it's BIII Special ?
Good spot @@thewalrus6833.. it /should/ have a dorsal turret as it's a BIII not a BIII Special. The Specials were a unique modification only used on Operation Chastise (the Dams Raid); as such they had the rear of the bomb doors removed to accommodate the cradle for the Upkeep mine (aka bouncing bomb) (the front of the doors was retained as a fairing to guide the slipstream over the bomb.
So in short no this isn't a BIII Special, but nor is it a proper BIII if it has no dorsal turret.
I wonder though if the artwork is /wrong/ and the actual kit will be properly modelled?
Looking at the TV advert again it does show the bomb bay - or lack of it - so it looks like they have modelled it properly and the kit /is/ a BIII Special. Mind you the raid was 1943 so they're a year late commemorating it.
I've just seen the TV advert for the kit and I was immediately struck by how "off" it looks. There no, or even negative dihedral. From straight on it looks a bit B52ish.
Got my 1st 2 issues of the Lancaster bomber bit fiddly with fat thumbs lol
Wayne marry Christmas tou and your family. is this available in newsagents ps I do wish they would do these kit as a complete kit. 😊
the dihedral looks wrong with the wings which is one thing that puts me off
Hopefully that is just on the display model. I would definitely need an assurance from the company that the wings will be correct, the bomb will actually spin the correct way around, and the engine start-up sequence will be in the right sequence. It’s not as if there is a shortage of info out there.
@@andrewcutts3197 when we built the awful spitfire , so many times on the build group did i hear the words, yes thats just the display model !!!!!! but it wasnt all the errors were in the production models as well
In the history of these build weekly things, has anybody ever actually completed one? They work out to cost a couple of thousand pounds to build, and the newsagents never stock the issues after a while.
I've completed over 30 now
@@WorldofWayneUK the Lanc is nice, but it is not £1,700 worth of nice, which is the total cost I believe
Its easier to order through the website instead of relying on a newsagent, pay monthly by direct debit and the issues delivered monthly with 4 issues delivered each time so you are guaranteed receiving all issues as they come direct from Hatchette
@@mikestrohm3271 As I said before, the model is nice, but works out about £1,700 to complete. It is not that nice!
@@stevebird7265 130 issues at average £10 per issue? Bismark came in at £1400 and had three to four times more remote controlled features which I sold on for £1850.
So upset I cannot get it in the United States. Unless there is another website that delivers to the US. Been waiting for a aircraft for so long! And the Lansaster is awesome.
hi wayne looks a awesome build the brush on gorilla glue is epic i use it all the time this certanley will be a spectacular model and a beauty not sure if it was part of the video wayne but i could here beeping or like sqweaking noise thoughout video not sure if you know about it or not or if it was ur sound effect for the bomber but thought id highlight it for u really looking forward to seing your next video on this great job as always dude :)
I was never sure anyone was able to complete any of these magazine kits As sometimes the issues cease also the cost of adding up each issue is astronomically high it would be better to just save up and buy the best complete kit you can
I've completed over 30 now. The kits have never stopped. A company I certainly went bankrupt which jeopardised that record but the build was picked up by another distributor.
1:16 not loving those huge panel gaps. Makes it look toyish. Expect more for that price.
Pilot tube ? Surely Pitot tube ? There are no surviving Dams aircraft , the Hendon airframe is a standard form airframe.
Yep my mistake
£1,300 - at least. That’s a lot of money.
Happy Christmas Wayne to you and your family from Australia, is this the same as that pro mo last year you started 🦘🇦🇺❤️👍
Yep
130 issues at a tenner a pop? Nope 😂
The magazine that you have there shows the Lancaster with out the top gun turret, so is this a true representation of the bomber ????
Like video
My son saw this sead a new Bruce Wayne video? 😂😂
What is the range of the Lancaster ???
So is that "stormsure flexible repair adhesive"? before i order some
Yes but to be honest si ce this video I have been using micro krysal klear which is just a PVA glue and that works just as good
I have got BOTH Border(EX WING NUT WINGS) model Lancasters, the I/III and the Dambuster version, they together cost LESS(under £1000) than this would, and the WNW/Border Models are more detailed
I hope Hachette have learned from the Spitfire....that turned into a farce!!!
Tell us more about Barnes Noble?
😁😁😁
*loud tutting* Barnes Wallis Wayne. Barnes & Noble are a bookshop.
Yep lol. I'm a spanner sometimes
@@WorldofWayneUK Silly sod :) Merry Christmas to you, Esther, and the family :)
HK do a Lancaster dam buster for around £350
Does it do all the stuff this one does?
How much does it come to eventually
