Since you guys loved the Monsterverse. And your Godzilla Minus One, and your love for Comic Book stuff. I haven't seen any reaction channel to the Heisei era.
Recommend the original 1954 and the Heisei era is just 7 films. Which has continuity, kind of like a MARVEL Comics take on it.

LOL I got my BLu Ray copy yesterday and noticed that the schematics they show when talking about "Project Powerhouse" looked a bit odd.... got closer, and they're *ACTUALLY Gypsy Danger's arm schematic. I broke out laughing.
(Also on the Pizzilla graffiti I noticed a tiny blue doodle in the upper left that I swear looks like Knifehead)

If you guys don’t love both equally; You’re not a true Godzilla fan.
Fun fact: While never said in the movie, it's pretty much confirmed that Shimo causing the Ice Age is what ended up freezing Ghidorah in Antarctica. She likely caused it while Godzilla and Ghidorah were battling and either she was a participant or farther away. Also a sad theory is that the crystal on Skar King's whip came from Shimo's offspring that the Skar King killed. The crystal is likely meant for the offspring to vibrate in order to alert the mother it's in danger which causes the pain in order to get Shimo's attention.

Actually, its not confirmed at all. The director as well as multiple extra sources such as the comics confirm Godzilla was the one who locked Ghidorah away in the Antarctic. Shimo had no part in the process of freezing Ghidorah.

That's drastically different from what you originally said though. Its one thing if the ice crystals have radioactive samples matching her ice breath (which, considering how much ice Ghidorah was frozen in means her ice age could have ended hundreds of years prior), but its another thing to say she directly froze the Titan. She had no involvement at all.
This whole movie is basically when you’re a kid playing with your action figures in the craziest fights possible, and I absolutely loved this movie for it!
That's how I was as a kid in the 80s😂 we had a lot of imagination
@@ryry283 and I’m genuinely happy both this and Minus One exist because they cover both sides of the fandom. The side the loves deep, well written characters and great social commentary, and the other side that wants to see giant monsters fight each other.

The apes actually were sealed. Remember, when fighting the wolf-creatures, Kong opened up a fissure to a lower, uncharted part of Hollow Earth. That fissure is what allowed the trapped apes to come up to the known part of Hollow Earth and destroy the Monarch base. Kong wasn't around for their arrival because he was on the surface, seeing his dentist.
This is all understood if you pay attention.

Godzilla, Kong, Suko, Mothra, Shimu, the rest of the Kongs-a huge team against the final monster villan enemy (Destroyah).
You guys complaining about "not enough monsters" is so wierd considering we get more time with them than ever. The human plot is actually important and done well this time too. You dont seem to be vibing with the movie enough to truly pay attention.
Monarch is a scientific organization, not military. Small teams to Hollow Earth are ideal. You don't wanna go there all big and obvious looking for a fight.
Also Hollow Earth isn't just one big empty space. That's silly. There's lots of other pockets. Like a honeycomb. And Skar King was imprisoned in a deep part of Hollow Earth until Kong's trap was triggered and an opening emerged.
Also Kong was asking Suko to lead him to the other apes, not trying to give him the knife.
And Godzilla wasn't "scared of the monkeys". There use to be a massive army of them and he imprisoned them. Stop inferring things. You always have such a negative take.
EDIT: "Was that suppose to help? They were about to fight." Uh the Iwi used the pyramids to distrupt gravity temperorary. They like explained this a few moments before. The point is to stop Skar King, his army, and Shimo from reaching the surface.
There has to be a logic to what the characters are doing. THEY are not concerned with seeing a cool monster fight. You complain alot about lack of logic in the movie but it's usually just because you missed something or you're not understanding it.

I don't care what people say, I loved Godzilla x Kong and I love Godzilla minus one.

This movie was basically Kong as Kratos with an axe and Suko as Atreas
Godzilla was basically the Doomguy, they were playing separate games in their scenarios until they met up again
TOHO has always had different versions of Godzilla. Three eras(Showa, Heisei and Millennium) of TOHO Godzilla movies that inspired the Monsterverse and a couple that inspired Minus One/Shin like the 1954 Godzilla and "Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack " . I loved them then and I still love them now equally, even the new stuff. It's all Godzilla and he remains king . Wish they would watch the older TOHO movies.

It’s a very very different movie than Minus One. Definitely have to take them both for what they are. Each embraces a portion of Godzilla history in different ways.
Dude toothaches are no joke. I remember rolling around on the floor in agony one time because it felt like the bottom of my skull just wanted to stab into my flesh! Getting my wisdom teeth removed was the best feeling i ever like my God he answered my prayers idk how the heck animals in real life can just walk around with infected teeth eating away their mouths 😬
In the old Godzilla movies and Mothra movies, there were these two female twins called the Shobijin that have a sort of song/prayer thing, but they also communicated with Mothra on some deeper level. In the 2019 KOTM Godzilla movie, they play an instrumental song that is the same song the Shobijin sing when Mothra changes from larva form to Mothra under the waterfall. It's a great homage/waster egg to the old movies.
(At 24:30) they can't reach the surface and have no means to get to the surface. That's why they are "imprisoned", hey're trapped in the Hollow Earth.
Kong personified "beat a mf with another mf" using the kid as a weapon and its amazing!

I have a “soft spot” for campy reruns of Godzilla movies made in the 1960s and 1970s. As of May 2024, there were 38 Godzilla movies made - I saw them all.
Mothra basically told Godzilla, “Daddy, chill!” 🤣
If you're curious about what are the creatures in this film, The Creatures that appeared in this movie are: Leafwings(the birds flying) , WartDogs(the giant dog pack) ,Kong, Doug( the giant lizard stealing kongs meal), Parrot Frog, Scylla(the giant squid crab), Godzilla, Suko (the baby Kong’s name), vertacines (the flying creatures the ship was flying with), Tiamat(the giant sea dragon serpent), hell hawks(the birds that looked like a mix of hawks and bats), Warbats(the flying serpents), DrownViper(the sea serpent that attacked Kong), Tree Mimic( the creature that ate the mercenary) , Skar King, Shimo, and Mothra.
I love the natural progression of the bond between Kong and Suko. Even with that "I'll beat a motherfucker with another motherfucker" moment. And the fact that Jia was prophesized as a hero who can rouse Mothra from her slumber is amazing, same with her meeting other members of her tribe. Also, I not only love the "Aw, shut up" punch on the ape annoyingly running his mouth a few seconds before Kong met Skar King, but the part where Kong lobs a rock and creams the one ape in the head.
Fun fact: Dan Stevens also played The Beast in the remake of Beauty And The Beast.

I hate when people try to compare between this movie and codzilla minus one. for the same reason you cant compare between the dark knight and iron man because they totally different specially when they try to criticize the human element because in the monsterverse the the monsters are the heroes in this world but in GM1 the main focus on the humans because godzilla is the villian
Kong used his axe in the portal to try to slow down. The axe just got stuck.
So the kongs and scar king were imprisoned but a way out was opened when Kong was hunting those wolves and dropped all those boulders causing the ground to collapse.
This film is the perfect popcorn movie. As a King Kong fan this was awesome to watch in the theaters, I freaking love Godzilla's new form I'm going to call it Godzilla Rose. This movie gave us Godzilla and Kong, Mothra finally together, all I can say to that is Long live the Kings and Queen of Monsters!
Godzilla's new form is called "evolved Godzilla".

Don’t forget that there used to be AN ENTIRE TRIBE of those Hollow Earth people on Skull Island. The young girl is just the last surviving member of that tribe that was on Skull Island.

@@izaihpaponette4366I disagree with the notion of the films being milked. They come out every 3 years, and there’s been a total of 5 in the 10 years of the Monsterverse existing. That’s not milking, that’s being careful and thoughtful about *not* milking them.
But I agree about Monarch; season 1 was excellent, and I can’t wait for season 2.
Funny thing? According to supplementary material, Nessie in the Monsterverse is actually a Titan codenamed ‘Leviathan’!
The Monarch show was actually pretty good, a bit confusing and VERY human heavy but it gave us quite a bit of world building, that also contradicted some things but eh.

Fun fact: The in Universe reason Godzilla Sleeps in the Colosseum is because it reminds him of his old home The Underwater Temple in Godzilla King of the Monsters which was destroyed during his resurrection in the movie.
Did you even watch the movie closely they got out of the hole Kong made where he trapped those dog titans, we saw that scene multiple times

I love Godzilla and Kong so this movie was easy for me to get into. Great movie
the vet character was actually a former trapper. the mini kong is named suko and the little lizard character that was trying steal kong's food was titanous doug. the human element was more on the serious side in minus one and godzilla was more the monster and an enemy compared to how he is in the monsterverse movies. overall new empire gets an 8/10 and minus one gets a 10/10. both are great movies which i like how you compared them to having a steak compared to a hamburger which now you both talking about it made me hungry. lol.
It freaks me out when Steven's scream is so high i can't hear anything else.
Yay!! This is THE BEST Monsterverse movie hands down. It does everything right and it's FINALLY EVERYTHING we've been waiting for from this franchise! No more extremely dark scenes for 99% of the movie, no more fight scenes edited into oblivion and chopped in with human stuff that novody could care less about. This movie had the perfect band of humans with a good storyline for onc and a team that finally nailed the vibe. The themes of lost and found family with jia and Kong's stories mirroring one another, genius. The kong representative of the best of humanity up against the foe skar king that represents the worst of humanity as a foil, brilliant and amazing. The long scenes with absolutely no dialogue being led by these characters was FANTASTIC and this movie had the BEST intros to new characters. Just flawless. It made me think of how everyone was so upset the live action lion king featured emotionless puppets instead of real characters but this movie did an amazing job with their humanism and characterization. From the very beginning in the intro of this movie, it already had the best Godzilla fight scene of the entire franchise because Godzilla was a BEAST, the pacing was smooth, and like i said it wasnt over edited or cut with human garbage it was BREATHABLE. The way this movie was BRILLIANT in tying in Kong's history with canonically having electric powers so it's explained with a robot arm!! Sick!! I'm upset people keep calling that convenient, I just really think it's practical in this universe. World-building wise, this movie kinda NAILS IT for the world this franchise has created and how far robotics has come especially. It's honestly just GOOD WRITING. Really REALLY good writing!! This movie has just phenomenal tracking shots like for real i could go on forever!! People can have their opinions but this movie is objectively the best and most well-done in this franchise.😊
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire made 555 million dollars in the box office and Godzilla minus one only made 100 million
Yeah, but GxK still cost almost $150 million to make. Minus One's budget was somewhere between $10-$15 million, so that $100 million box office makes it arguably a much more successful movie than GxK.

It's seriously annoying whenever People say that Humans are not important in the Monsterverse more often than not Humans are propelling the narrative of the plot forward or are expanding the lore of the world by explaining it to us. Even in the first movie Humans were doing that in Godzilla 2014 Doctor Ishiro Serizawa exlapined to how these creatures worked expanding the lore and Lieutenant Ford Brody saved Godzilla's life from the Mother and Father M.U.T.O by blowing up the nest preventing them from bringing M.U.T.O babies into the world and distracting them long enough for the King of the Monsters to recover and beat them. In Skull Island the Humans are responsibly for causing the Skullcrawlers to emerge from the under ground which is what starts the narrative of the plot Humans also aid Kong in the battle against the Skulldevil. In Godzilla King of the Monsters Humans once again kick off the narrative of the plot and save Godzilla's life twice. In Godzilla vs Kong Humans once again kick off the narrative of the plot by creating Mechagodzilla and transporting Kong from Skull Island to an entrance of the Hollow Earth Humans also save Kong's life four times and save Godzilla's life twice because a Human convinces Kong to save Godzilla's life before Mechagodzilla can kill him and another Human group ruins the computer controlling Mechagodzilla allowing the two Alpha Titans to gain the upper hand against the machine. And in this Movie the roll of the Humans is more important they ever but you two seem so absolutely determined to ignore the importance of Humanity it's ridiculous.

Until "Netflix" had "Godzilla Minus One" I didn't know it was real. I barely notice the headlines of articles that the software wants me to see as I scroll looking for what I actually want! So there is a vague memory about the titles. 🤔
Milly Bobby Brown! The "Godzilla" movies is how I saw her in action first. In theaters! Then on "Netflix " her two "Enola Holmes" movies! Then finally "Netflix"! It's how I learned that David Harbour and Abraham Benrubi are two different actors! 😁 Whenever I would see David I just assumed that he was Abraham! 😅

With "Godzilla Minus One" I felt like I had missed out on something from before. I had to read it too because it wasn't dubbed. I'm used to the dubbing.

I wish people would give the human aspect of the monsterverse a break. It's no minus one but it's leagues better than a lot of other kaiju films. I really don't think the humans are that bad
100% agree. They play their parts well imo.
If you think this is good then your standard must be extremely low though. At least the first 3 movies from the Monsterverse did tried their best with the human character (Kong: Skull Island and KOTM overall executed best imo), while GvK and GxK literally just put them in for exposition and comedic relief moments. That's not how you write "characters"

Ghidorah was NOT frozen by Shimo. It's a fan theory that was debunked by both the director and extra source materials such as the novelization and the comics. Godzilla froze Ghidorah in the Antarctic, Shimo played no part in the battle.

I love both styles. I don't know if you guys were ever do it. But go watch some of the older Godzilla movies. And you'll see why most of us really enjoyed this movie.
Honestly, the reason the humans were so lackluster in this film is _specifically_ because people were saying "No humans, obly monsters!"

Godzilla Minus one seems like the exception of all these movies. People actually like the human element in that from what I keep hearing. Everyone complained about the humans having too much screentime in all the other movies. They were uninteresting for the most part and we wanted to see more monsters. Also, if I'm being honest, I'm not coming to these movies to see humans. I don't really care as much about seeing a human storyline as I do about seeing monsters. If its a good storyline ten great, but the star(s) of the show aren't humans.
In this one, they decided to focus more on monsters rather than the human storyline which I enjoyed. I was a lil bit into the storyline about the humans who live down in Hollow Earth though. That was nice. The other thing to note though is that you kinda have to focus on humans more if its a Godzilla movie. Godzilla can't carry a movie on his own without having a human storyline to focus on. All he does is sleep, wake up and fight, feed every now and then, and then go back to sleep. Kong on the other hand, can actually carry pretty much a whole movie on his own. Or at least half of it. His interactions with humans and other monsters is very human like. You can actually read his emotions and behavior without him speaking, unlike Godzilla.
My biggest issue with this movie was indeed the amount of spoilers from even the first trailer. I would've been hyped seeing Godzillas evolution and Kongs gauntlet for the first time
I can see why you have a problem with that, me personally, I don’t spend enough time on social media to see that many spoilers, but that’s just me.
tbf, while that is true, it also made Mothra that much more of a surprise I didn't see coming because I expected they'd already revealed most of everything.
Only watched the first two trailers and they gave away just enough. I stopped watching them after that. I didn't understand all the complaints about so much of the movie being in the previews. Must be one of the reasons I liked the movie so much.

Suko (the mini Kong) is the same age as Kong was during Skull Island and a little more taller than that

1.godzilla earth (the anime kinda sucks but i think if this godzilla exist irl mankind will move out of earth)
2.shin godzilla (without spoiling anything, the ending if altered can be the end of mankind)
3.godzilla minus one (his regeneration is overpowered)

Shin Godzilla sucks. The human element is indeed pretty good, but it doesn’t focus on any particular character so much as the Japanese government as a whole and how screwed up they are. As for Godzilla, the only good thing about him in this movie is the first scene of him coming onto land. After that, it’s awful. Godzilla looks ugly as shit, and is boring as hell. All he does is walk forward, and shoot his breath toward the end… that’s it. His whole involvement in the movie except the very end is just him slowly walking forward. That movie gets way more credit than it deserves. The 1998 movie might have been a failure as a Godzilla movie, but at least he DOES stuff.
I like both and I think the biggest distinction is that for Americans godzilla has always been a novelty, a plaything to be like whoa so cool. For Japan, godzilla started out as heavy social commentary evoking fear and evolved into a hero in certain iterations. I enjoy them both, American godzilla is very much a product of current Hollywood whereas big explosions make bigger dollars and the passion projects of minus one and shin godzilla really bring hone the message..and the dollars
They’re saying the “monster that ate a star” isn’t supposed to be Godzilla but that’s the monster Godzilla has been upgrading himself to fight in the next movie ; cause let’s be honest Godzilla could’ve took skar king and shimu. But comparing this to minus one will definitely hinder you experience that’s why you shouldn’t really compare the 2
