In the ending they do one of my favorite things in music more than once.. basically the whole last part. Specifically though when a band plays a tiny, one measure detour from the flow and it strokes your tinglies and doesn't repeat.. It leaves me wanting more so much it's on the verge of causing anxiety but the ability to rewind or just appreciate the patience in the build up and listen all over again makes it super satisfying.
Plus, it's super significant in the story of the song. Like the character has completely fallen into insanity, first in anger with the metal part, and then at the dubstep part we completely lost him, almost like dementia with the final loop...
My mom thought I was listening to a musical when i was listening to this song. Now I'd really like to see a musical with a score by DSO.
It would be a psychodelic experience to say the least.
That would be such an epic vibe my god.
Just these guys alone could make jukebox musicals ten times better
my dream musical would be a rewrite of repo the genetic opera with all the music done by dso
Ubelievably overlooked by the industry and market. Gives me goosebumps every time.
this is by far the most perfect song I have ever listened too, not just on it's own, but also in context with the album itself.
What's the context in the album? Is there an overarching plot?
The end is just amazing. I jumped when i heard this for the first time
I really, really like this song; it must be one of the best songs they wrote.
My favourite part was from 0:00 to 8:16
Omg mine too
7:10 genuinely made me think my headphones were breaking
I have imagined everytime this album as a war drama, kind of les miserables, and this songs makes me an image about a guy going to war and answer if his love will wait him.
I'm at a loss for words.
The best song this band has ever done. Holy fuck.
one of their best for sure. It was a great way to close out the album
The best word to describe this song is tense.
Also, that's not dubstep at the end, it's industrial.
I thought it was more like glitch
shed a little man-tear, goosebumps included
It is okay to cry! *hugs*
this has Voltaire vibes! love it!
this song should be used for a final boss....
God I wish I could like this again. And again. And again...
Hnnng those last 2 minutes are immense. What a way to end an album.
2:33 and 6:01 till the end. Fucking amazing.
+RhythmAddictedState All of it is :)
Honestly I dont really like the dubstep part very much but its worth it for getting to listen to the rest of the song
When I try to describe this song, I often feel the need to say SPOILER ALERT lol
I just said that yesterday "you have to listen to it from the start until it fades out or you didn't get the full experience of this song. no spoilers"
Literally no one is prepared for what comes.
This song is pure epicness.
This is a masterpiece, I'm in love
This song describes a very hard time in my life... every fucking word its in the right place to describe that... really beauty song...
I'd like to see a dance video to this. Starting out modern or ballet, slowly changing to headbanging to locking/popping
Found this while doing some research about this song: ua-cam.com/video/Br9Dw11gYAE/v-deo.html
wouldn't be that too simple?
Only the few who understand orchestration really understand. Those string parts are very well done.
I think the term most of you are looking for is: music that frees. You are welcome!
Perfect song.
I think the word "Justice" is in the title for a reason. This ending could easily be on the album "Cross"
A masterpiece
Hear the sound of Violence, it's the beat that makes us dance. You'd sway and I'd follow..
That sounds, to me, more about a past, violent, relationship.
Sounds like an Enemies & Lovers trope
This is nice, pretty fucking good song.
Oh.
OH SHIT
EBICCC
Definitely my favourite of D.S.O.
That's best DSO song in my opinion
For me, the dubstep end means that the narrator is falling into madness. Sadness first, madness at last. A perfect song and a perfect choice in my opinion
It's industrial, not just dubstep.
The last minute is the Last Boss theme song xDDD
Incredible song
It does clash with the rest of the song, but I can justify it with what the other commenter said. Complete breakdown to insanity. Fitting in that way.
2:33 the beggining of what I dare say is the best riff in the fucking history of music.
One word: Art!
just amazing
I wish they had more songs like this, I appreciate how varied they are but tbh most of their songs just don’t really do it for me.
wonderfull song
Miss you Ann :(
This song in some parts reminds me of Nightmare Before Christmas. IMO.
> highly expressive
work of art (...) nothing to add!
This is not a violent song, it's a song about Saint Mary Magdalene; the woman than Yeshua (Jesus) loved but laid down his life, and everything in order to make the world a better place for her in the long run. It's a song that speaks about the hypocrisy of Christianity, and that they have forgotten that he sacrificed himself for the world and her, not for his exclusive little fucking fan-club that they've created. A song about TRUE LOVE.
I think it's more so a song about someone slipping into madness and insanity.
Holy shit it's dr zalost's theme from courage the cowardly dog 3:45 ! I love this!
"Screaming the choices"? I wonder if that's a reference to The Singer by Suspye. If not then that's a pretty big coincidence. Unless they're both referring to something I don't know of.
Check out Suspyre BTW. Really good prog/jazz/alt band.
DSO does dubstep. My mind is officially blown.
I come back to this song every now and then because I remember it being cool but there was something about it that irked me. Then I listen to it and remember that it's the ending. Hate the ending. I get they're artists trying to produce chaos or whatever, but it's really to hard to enjoy the song when it ends by raping my ears and kinda makes the whole buildup of the song a disappointment. Absolutely love it up till then, but I kinda wish there was an alt ending. Something that fits the musicality of the rest of the song
Guess you're right bro. This sounds like tales from my relationship! (:
I wrote this somewhere before:
(IMO) This song is about the fall of traditional religion. DSO sings about how we follow blindly and of course, this leads to mistakes and pain. But a new era dawns with technology being represented by the industrial bit and starts tearing the old way of thinking into pieces.
- This coming from a hardcore Christian
You are talking more about you than the music saying this.
Justice is Vengeance
If you think otherwise stay out of the fucking way
if its your thing give this song a listen how i believe its meant to be listened to. on LSD. there's clear psychedelic influences here that pull emotions out of you like you wouldn't believe. the ending needless to say is mind blowing on LSD especially when the audio fades to the background. Just a suggestion for my fellow travelers :)
*****
Used to be an avid psychonaut. Still do it every now and then do. Suffered a psychosis a few years back (was before i got into psychadelics, so no connection to it) and i'd say they're absolutely different.
+enricopolini1127 Listening to it now while drunk and high on weed. When I close my eyes and listen, I get a rush of something between euphoria and a gentle sting of sadness collectively akin to a very intense orgasm. I found myself wincing and tail flexed back. Worth.
+enricopolini1127 I can imagine what it would feel like. My travles into the velvet lands ended some time ago though, but I still hear the extra layers when listening to music. As a HSP myself I feel music like an acid trip every time I listen to it. Well, it doesn't happen very often with pop music.
this piece is amazing as is, no need for artificial stimulants
That wasn't the point :)
Kdo v tom slyší Řezníka??
I just kind of assumed it was DSO trolling everyone, but that's probably a better interpetation. Either way, it's pretty cool, though I'd rather the song didn't end with it and came to a more traditional resoltuion afterward.
Humor negro
more like Justice For Saint Johnny
(I know he's not a saint, but still: #teamJohnnyDepp)
Was the techno dubstep thing at the end really called for? It ruined the rest of the otherwise perfect song. As far as dubstep goes, I like it, but it was really uncalled for and ruined the whole mood this song set up. Maybe it's just me though.
It's not dubstep, it's industrial, and the song is about someone decending into madness, so the industrial ending really fit in with the tone of the song if you ask me.
Maybe you just missed the point.
hit it on that last sentence. it's just you.
