Good Morning Joel ... hey, I'm fairly early this time ... woo hoo ! I've only had Indian food a few times coz I've found it "stays with you" for much longer than Thai (speaking about the intense spice levels, especially in curries). Anyway, I'd be willing to give it a try again so long as I have a box of alka-seltzer nearby. All the best Blessings to you & Li. God Bless !
Well! Then let me take an awesome chance to welcome you right here Ron man! I hope you’re doing Super well today!! 😆 although, it seems to me you’re always here, always early, always full of support and also experiences to share ♥️
One of the two Indian restaurants of my friend Joy and her husband Singh, the video was filmed at a restaurant in Chiang Rai and there is another great restaurant in Chiang Mai. Everyone who comes to northern Thailand must go and taste the delicious food. Highly recommended.
Good morning everyone ☺️❤️🙏. Lovely video! I absolutely love Indian food. We have lots of Indian influence in our local cuisine as well. We also have Cape Malay cuisine which is a mix of local South African and Malaysian cuisine. Some of my favourite dishes are Paneer Korma, lamb or mutton Korma, Butter naan, mint chutney and any creamy dal. Prawn curries are hit and miss here. Love it when prepared right. We've got a large Indian and Pakistani population and the food is similar. Atchar especially mango atchar is served alongside most African dishes here since it goes well with pap and meat. I made a meal last night more influenced by my European heritage. Made meat pies and gravy with a side of peas. Decided on a peppered steak instead of the usual Cornish pastie. Cornish pasties are basically minced beef with veg and gravy filling. Looks like you had a wonderful meal and enjoyed it. The candied fennel seeds are not only for freshening breath but they help you digest your food! I'm thinking of doing a vegan dinner tonight. Asian style veg soup with pak Choy, celery, carrots, green onions, soy and soft tofu cubes. Something light and perhaps some grilled pork belly for the boys on the side. Have a blessed day 🙏
@@maxf3253 we eat vegan meals 3 times per week. Have to have some balance. My husband wants meat most of the time but if I make a soup or curry he will happily eat vegan food. Just not salad lol. At first I thought explaining Basmati rice seemed funny, but I guess people don't always have different kinds to try. With all of our Middle Eastern cooking we have about 50% Basmati, 40% white rice and 10% Thai in our house. A Cambodian friend of mine said rice is like French bread, so many variations even in the same type to try and enjoy.
I like using a variety of rice. Basmati, Thai Jasmine, short grain or sticky rice, black rice, wild rice, regular long grain and brown rice. I've basically tried and used them all. My favourite is still sticky rice 😂
I love the place already Joel and Li gorgeous table cloth and wall paper design and I love the melody of the dishes flavors makes your mouth water. This is a great restaurant oh I wish I was their with you guys what a wonderful experience. Safe travels guys❤

India has huge soft power globally. It's just that it's frequently overlooked. Do you take the leftovers home or leave it at the restaurant? The chef is dedicated and humble. This type of dining is new to me as chutneys are served to allow the diner to appreciate the variety of tastes and flavours on offer.
From that beautiful door at the very start, I knew this would be special but, it's extra SPECIAL special! Your description of your childhood memories and your knowledge of Indian and African culture really helped set a foundation for enjoying this even more. Watching the chef work one can see years of love and skill put into the dish he was making. Then your detailed description of the Chutneys and all the dishes is great, really. THEN I find out that there's an Accha in Chiang Mai! WOOOW! I've tried a lot of the Indian places here and there's some good ones, I'm not too well versed in the cuisine to really know, though. I hope that the one here is as good as the one in Chiang Rai, is it possible that they have as good a chef? Right to the end with the street seen, One of your and Li's best! (+ I wait patiently to hear Li's take on the food in each of these!)
Joel, Achha is Good , Achha hai means it's good . He belongs to my home state Uttrakhand in India .Will visit the place for sure , as recommended by you.

Good morning to you Joel great video log you are doing a better job then Mark my personal opinion Mark has lost his Zing. When you explain about food you explain it with passion
Watching from Los Angeles. Joel Accha means two things in Hindi. 'Yes" and "something that is good." Achar on the other hand is a condiment. Great video, nevertheless.
Indian food is also one of my favourites. Just a "feel good" food, regardless of what you eat. It all tastes great (and beeing very diverse at the same time) and gives you a good feeling. Edit: The "after food fennel seed thingy" is called Mukhwas. 😉
YoHohhhhhh!!!!:):) and Amen, may peace be with you today, this week, and I hope you are also just smiling and ready to shine on just like our brother Caleb always says so wonderfully. Cheers
OMG, I had no idea you grew up in Nairobi! BTW, I thought Achar was pickle and Accha was “OK” or “yes”. I saw an episode with Mark Wiens and his Dad in Kenya. Is that where you met him?
Sam!! Yes indeed, that is where we grew up… Thanks for the question and thanks for listening :-) hope you’re having a great day today, oh I forgot thanks also for the language reminder, yes I have only visited India, never lived there as you still my dream to do so one day… Let’s see :-) and until then, have a great day Sam!
David!!!!! Hey man! Hope you’re doing awesome, hey I hope you can find some Indian very close to where you are right now. Cheers and happy riding dude, any visit to Southeast Asia again coming up?
Dear Joel Accha means "Good" and Achaar means pickle. Carribean is West Indies not East Indies !! and the influence is because of the East India company who smuggled people from the state of Bihar in India to work in the sugarcane fields in the Carribean. The Indian food influence in East africa is also because of the east India company as they traded between India and Africa. a lot of people from the state of Gujrat have very well established business in almost all east African countries. Diamond business is one of them other than, heavy machinery, automobiles and construction business. The Swami Narayan Community is one of the largest Indian communities in Africa. The crunchy thing you ate right in the beginning is Papad also called Pappadum. Its an accompaniment to rice dishes like Pulav or dal rice. Even the pickle is meant to be eaten with some rice preparation. The pickles are supposed to be taken in very small quantities becs they are too spicy. I hope you did not have any "After effects" of eating such huge quantity of the pickles. I love how much you enjoyed the food but I wish someone could have told you about the right combinations. They should have served you atleast one yogurt "Raita" which is some cucumber tomatoes and onions in some fresh thick yogurt or atleast a few glasses of buttermilk. Please make sure you eat something with yogurt after eating a spicy Indian meal or your digestive acids will have volcanic reactions !!😆
Sorry Joel, you have eaten indian food before many times right? so you know You have to put spoonful of each curry in your plate and then break naan in pieces and scoop curry with your fingers. You have forgotten the traditional way how to eat Indian food. It has been a while you have not been to Indian restaurant so you forgot. Hope this helps.
The meaning of ACCHA in Hindi is GOOD. For pickle it's called as ACCHAR
Theeeeere we go! Haha :) thank you Kochi!!!!!!! Thanks man

I hope that the one here is as good as the one in Chiang Rai, is it possible that they have as good a chef? Right to the end with the street seen, One of your and Li's best! (+ I wait patiently to hear Li's take on the food in each of these!)
Such a beautiful message 😘
😲🤣😂 your expressions makes me salivate man!! That looks absolutely delicious...
Joel, Achha is Good , Achha hai means it's good .

I think that "aacha" means yes, or is that so.
achar is pickle
@@Pytchblend Does accha mean yes or "is that so". I took a guess.
A great day and enjoy
Thanks so much everyone!!:)
Haha yes I see that is probably right, haha I never claimed to speak more than just English and Thai, so yes I need to learn just like this so thank you for that message today
Joel the real spelling for pickle is Achaar. Accha in Hindi means OK. Kindly clarify who told you it means pickle. thanks stay connected
Joel, se vé todo rico, un beso a tu señora, es muy linda y simpática
FYI Accha means : good , Achar means : Pickle. It was wonderful to watch you
The food looks so good. Thanks for sharing!🙂
Oh my goodness.. Indian food right now would be perfect being locked down ..😋 now I’ve got to go and buy a new TV as mines got lick marks all over it now .. thanks Li & Joel 😉😂
Lick marks?, Love you 💞😘💗💗
@@maxf3253 yes, the food looked utterly irresistible and so unlike Cam C who drooled..the food was so enticing that I licked the TV screen🥺🤣
Good morning to you Joel great video log you are doing a better job then Mark my personal opinion Mark has lost his Zing. When you explain about food you explain it with passion
Have a good day
Watching from Los Angeles. Joel Accha means two things in Hindi. 'Yes" and "something that is good." Achar on the other hand is a condiment. Great video, nevertheless.
Good day 💓
I tried indian curries without any onion or chilli - that was even tastier !
Have a good day
Indian food is also one of my favourites. Just a "feel good" food, regardless of what you eat. It all tastes great (and beeing very diverse at the same time) and gives you a good feeling.
Edit: The "after food fennel seed thingy" is called Mukhwas. 😉

I thought "acccha, " (phonetically) also meant "yes, ok". 😊
I like indian food too😋
You can see that Mark was a very good "food" teacher😂
Hi Patrick!
You are awesome dude, very well pronounced I’m sure.

South Indian Tamil food in Thailand next time.. please..
That's the North Indian one
Unlike MW, you include your lady in your videos. MW seems a little too absorbed to include her. Great video Joel. looks phenomenal!
A
Brotha!! Hope you are doing well today man
Keep it up Mr Kailash chef making so nice delicious food 👌👌👌💓💓💓
👍🍛
If 74 seat like you is No……No…….
Hey man!! 74 seat, should I have made another comment in the video…? 🌟
And a big welcome to you today Santiago, hope you’re doing well!!
🕊
Acha means good. This is a hindi word.
Joel you are not supposed to eat papadum that way. You are hilarious. You break is bit by bit and eat like a condiment item.
Happy day 🌼
