My parents are from the Netherlands. And yes, we love gardens. Thank you for your videos. You are the only garden person that I watch. From Magna Utah. Mike
here in northern england the cosmos blooms in late summer or early autumn (fall) , I love the the colours that cosmos provide to the autumn garden and the marigolds that (with dead heading) keep flowering to and sometimes beyond the first frost
I grew mammoth sized sunflowers this yr and the bees were all over them which was beneficial to my vegetable garden. And the birds absolutely loved them. I would find seeds all on my porch and it was the birds picking them. Adding some water features this yr so they can leave my tomatoes alone … you sir have a beautiful garden. Thank you for the video.
Purple heart is wonderful!!! It’s perennial here in Ga & if it breaks off- you can just stick it in the ground or in pots indoors or outdoors & it grows like crazy. It’s one of my FAVORITES- Just a gorgeous trailing plant in pots & less deep color strength indoors but still gorgeous !!! Everyone who comes over raves about it- & are shocked when I’m so generous with it. It really is an unstoppable grower.
I LOVE your channel and really enjoyed touring your beautiful garden with you today. I especially like the idea to hang dry sunflower heads out for the birds in winter.
So beautiful at Moss Mountain. My husband and I will be there October 18. I am completely excited about the visit. We also plan to come for one of your Christmas tours as well! Can't wait. See you soon!
Love sunflower!! Mine outgrew their tall bamboo stakes...they must be 10 to 11 feet! There are gold finches all over the earlier bloomers, which is an added bonus. ☺️. Thanks for another spectacular tour!
Allen: I know this is the wrong vid for this particular comment- Recently you semi apologized for loving zinnias... Several goldfinches were covering my zinnias this afternoon... my favorite little birds for their delicate beauty along with hummingbirds . Also - was amazed the hummingbirds feed on another favorite: Cleome at night ! I have a new puppy that I get up several times during the night to let him out to relieve himself- The hummers we’re feeding at 1 am !!!!
We call the large marigolds, door knob. I plant them ever year. There beautiful with the mums. I love the smell of the marigolds also. I watch your u tube program ever day.
I experimented with sunflowers again. I have teddy-bears (sun gold double), Mexican sunflowers, and "Velvet Queen" sunflowers. I also planted Mission Giant yellow marigolds! They are a sight to behold! Be daring and bold, experiment with these beauties!
I planted my first 2 hardy hibiscus this year ...so beautiful! I think I need to find those beautiful white lights sunflower seeds also. Thanks for this colorful video, I really enjoyed watching!
Can you do a video on Hardy Hibiscus. Best practices and pest control. I have pink and red but this year I have plenty of buds that did not flower. Thanks.
Very refreshing garden tour. My garden is taking a beating with this 100+ temperatures day 8 here. Anyway it's part of life here, I just can't wait to get back out there. I had that hyacinth bean plant but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks Allen, for a look at moss mountain farms garden.
Thank you for the huge flower tour. Your beds look so neat. I love the Hibiscus. How much water do those require. I am trying to be really water-wise. Easy this year; we have gotten tons of rain in the Northeast. But in the past August has been quite dry. Will that Hibiscus make it through without too much supplemental watering?
Hardy Hibiscus, Happy Sunflowers, Heavenly Hydrangea! Happy, Happy Plants! I love these plants this time of summer. Love the color and height of the White Light Sunflower. It would work perfectly in my garden. Do you remember where you bought the seeds for these?
As a first time homeowner and aspiring gardening pro, I am loving your channel. I have about an acre of land in North Georgia with tons of shade provided by large oak trees. Only the very front of my yard gets full sun. Taking into consideration providing for pollinators, what are your top recommendations to give my yard a wow factor? And can you also give me tips for beginning to compost? I would love to reduce our waste and provide some healthy food for my garden, but I just do not know how to start on my tight budget.
I have a question for you Mr Smith, Here in Fl zone 9 Hibiscus die on me in the winter. Even though we have very mild winters. Would Harty Hibiscus work better for me here? I asked garden center for Harty hibiscus & they never had heard of them. I have full Fl sun so they would have to be able to take that.
P. Allen Smith Thanks for the article. I didn’t know it has spores or that it would come back next year if not treated. I have powdery mildew on my Mr. Goodbud stonecrop and haven’t treated it. I guess I need to take care of this.
Thumbs up for Allen having so many plants that he forgets what he planted!!! Love you, I do the same thing, of course. And I use the same big popsicle sticks :D #tntm
Always amazing and informative content. Thank you

Those SUNFLOWERS are so BEAUTIFUL! 🌻♥
Growing flowers alongside vegetables is like getting two gifts!
Rainy Days right?! 💚
Zinnias are also a good summer flower and takes the heat and reseeds itself. I also like the moon flower vine. Both are easy to get from seed packs
I love it when you eat the flowers. I might try and put some pansies in my salad.

I was pleasantly surprised that my Vinca major and Vinca minor plants are staying green in the winter. I live in Magna Utah, which in zone 6b.

Which of these work best in hot afternoon sun, in a bed between concrete driveway and brick house?
How do you store seeds?
I store them in envelopes in the house after they have dried.
I'm in Texas and love my hibiscus, but now it has some white fungus all over it. What can I do to save it? Tia
Sounds like you're dealing with powdery mildew. Here is a link to some tips to help you save your plant. pallensmith.com/2014/06/07/powdery-mildew/
