All I know is in Northern Illinois and Elementary School we all had square dancing in classes during gym class. I believe square dancing is the root to all dancing. Even the king of the jelly donut Elves e will tell you square dancing was where he got his first taste of a little bit of romancing and white lightning
The most beautiful of all the ballroom waltzes/dances. So chic and graceful. I used to watch my late mum and dad and uncles and aunts dance this beautiful waltz. It was like they were waltzing on air. 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️❣️💕💞💓💗💖
v waltz has only six steps but it is the hardest to master as you need to understand how to not spot your head on a reverse turn, which is the hardest step. and reason why it is hard is there is no basic step to rest if you make a mistake, it is a go go go dance.
The Reverse Fleckerl - Contra Check - Natural Fleckerl move is usually reserved for advanced Viennese Waltz dancers. Because generally in Viennese Waltz you cannot look at your feet, be sure that your feet has imaginary tracks to your partner's feet at all times. I don't know if Strictly Come Dancing BBC Style allows open work in the Viennese Waltz. I know there is an International Viennese Waltz that does not permit movements like the Shadow Natural Turns or most open work like Rolling Off The Arms Or Switching Sides (which often exists in another style of Viennese Waltz, called the Smooth Viennese Waltz, or American Viennese Waltz).
Marie Cruickshank lovely to see you and pasha Arthur and little Oscar at Disney Paris parked in front of my car whilst I was getting changed and having a rest from my husband’s - let’s see how many of my girlfriends and kids my wife can spot game. I think pashas rendition of James Arthur - say you won’t let go in the car park was a sight to be seen 😵😳🤕🙌🏻🙇🏻♀️
Same rhythm, same feet in the same order, just the direction is different: No rotation, the leader goes straight ahead and the follower straight backwards.
It actually goes back much farther than that. It dates back some 250 years to Old Vienna. But yes, you will typically see it in grand ballroom scenes in old movies, with everyone decked out in formal attire. It's quite breathtaking when done well, especially to a good piece traditional, classical Viennese Waltz music such as a Strauss Waltz!
There are two different styles of Viennese Waltz. What you're seeing here is classic International Standard Viennese Waltz. American Smooth Viennese Waltz (which is more commonly taught in American dance schools) has the man starting on his LEFT foot, not his right, and it allows for open footwork, hold breaks, and a greater variety of figures, which International Standard does not.
Very good video, but this is not a "how to do" video because there is no instruction on how to do the steps (which are difficult). This is a "what it is" video. A descriptive introduction.
What? Waltz isn't "dark academia", it's joyful and exciting and an extremely social thing (and really exhausting). How is that connected to an aesthetic of studying alone late at night and being sad?
When people that have no clue how to dance , an want to dance v waltz are the most frustrating people on the planet. Take about 3 years of lessons first, so you don't kill someone.
Please if some of you are gonna dance a waltz some day dont race around the room with huge ass steps. Your Partner and everyother Person trying to dance will thank you
Competition is not for the causal or social dancer. Yet, I assure you, there is a lot of enjoyment in competition, because the achievement of 2 people in sync, flow and harmony with each other is a joy you rarely (if at all) experience in social dance. I say this because of the experience I have in both areas.
The steps are not "male" and "female". There is a leader and a follower. Men and be followers if they want to woman can be leaders. It is 2020. The National Dance Council of America recently changed their rules and the rest of the world should also. On a side not : the Strictly / DWTS V Waltzes are always pretty meh because they generally haven't learned body contact and struggle rotating around their partner.
@@RandomLemon49 I admit that I dont, but thats besides the point. I dont like how it looks. Are the dancers supposed to look so fake and stiff? Is there no sexual dimorphism between the man and woman? These are honest questions bc i dont know anything about ballroom dancing, but anything called "dancing" shouldnt really look like this. This looks more like modelling or mimcry or something

In Ballroom the Viennese waltz is being taught differently

You can't learn Viennese waltz from this video because it doesn't show where you step in relation to your partner.
Not under the impression this is a training video as much as exposition. Enjoy it for what it is without being disappointed what it's not.
