I live 10 minutes away from this mall and I avoid it like the plague. I'd rather go somewhere outside the GTA if I have to do mall shopping.
Square One is one of my favorites malls in the GTA!!
I moved to Mississauga in 1977. At that time, Square One was actually a square in layout, not that large, and there were cows grazing in a field across the road from the mall. There was nothing much past the mall heading west as there wasn't much development yet, except for the Erindale College campus of U of T and some of the surrounding homes.
I haven't seen the square one 50th anniversary activation yet. I would like to see that history in this video

Yes, I remember the center was an open air park with some play equipment.
My brother and I used to slide around on the frozen fountain that used to be in the center.

This Square One MALL is so huge, it's remind me of one store's slogan which used to be located at the corners of Bloor & Bathurst which said " Come in and get lost" 😂 do you remember that Johnny

Haven't been to Square One Mall since 2000. First time I've seen this mall in 23 years. Johnny, you were raised in Hurricane Hazel Town the City of Mississauga west of Toronto.

Thankfully, Square One is a designated tourist attraction. Like Eaton’s Centre, it’s open on statutory holidays. A few times, I had to pick up some items for things I was doing around the house. One time I needed some gardening stuff on Canada Day. Just this past New Year’s Day, I bought some baking items from Walmart.
