I remember watching Dead Like Me when it released, loving it, and being seriously annoyed because none of my friends wanted to give it a chance. It's such an underrated show together with Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies also by Bryan Fuller, and a massive shame they all had to be so short-lived, as there were big plans for each. It was a great journey to see you react to the show and hopefully the movie will follow soon.
Love your reactions! I mentioned this (and I'm sure many others too) on your first episodes that the writer Bryan Fuller has two other similar shows that are just as quirky. "Wonderfalls" and "Pushing Daisies". Hope you react to them.
Dead Like Me was the first of three critically aclaimed, but prematurely cancelled series created by Bryan Fuller, the other two which are well worth reacting to are Wonderfalls which only lasted for one season, but doesn't end on a cliffhanger, so it has a reasonable conclusion, and Pushing Daisies, which lasted for two seasons and got a rapid wrap up at the end of the last episode, which they were able to knock together when they found out they weren't being recommissioned.
You so have to watch the movie, please. It will be worth your while - End Of Everything - It is so wrong they cancelled it. Ratings is the wrong reason. Also try 'Pushing Daisies' - same show creator. Just a thought. Your reactions are worth the wait. Thanks for all your work. Been here since Game of Thrones.
I just binge watched all of these reactions. This is one of my favorite shows ever and I am happy to see someone reacting to it. Keep up the good work. :3
The movie despite it's flaws gives closure to George's purpose and is a must watch for that reason. TV studios have always had a bad habit of not giving a fair shake to the quirky shows like this. Brian Fuller did another quirky show after this called Pushing Daisies that didn't last long bit did have a proper series ending. Premise was a man since he was a kid could bring a dead life back from the dead with a touch but (catch no.1) if he touched them again they died again permanently. (Catch no.2) If he did not touch them again after 10 seconds, then someone else within a proximity would die instantly to keep balance. Usually to tragic consequences. A surreal fun and sad show.
I watched the original series in 2003-2004 and have enjoyed revisiting it with you the past few months. I didn't know there was a movie made in 2009 until you mentioned it here. I just watched it and it really gave me the closure that the last episode was lacking. I recommend you watch it. You'll be glad you did.
@robinschicha4712 vor 6 Minuten In my opinion „Dead like me“ ended on a high note without loosing his unique sense of humor. That is very rare for a television show. I like how George has changed over the show: from trying to cheat dead 💀 in the pilot to sending a murderer to his death by accident without any need to show Joy.
This show really was in a league all on it's own, even to this day there hasn't really been another show like it. I really loved the premise of this series and the whole cast was excellent. It really just gutted me when I found out it was canceled so soon, I really felt it had so much more potential.
A fun fyi in this episode, the girl in the witch's hat is actress Emily Perkins who by this time was actually famous for horror. She was the original (young) Beverly Marsh in Stephen King's IT and she was Brigitte in the Ginger Snaps film trilogy.
ah bum, the finales finally arrived :( ... makes me feel even more annoyed it only made 2 seasons. But its been an enjoyable ride seeing someone react to a well deserving and sadly forgotten show, and most importantly appreciating it. It was a weird period for TV in the early 00s, you had interesting and unusual shows like the Lost Room, Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies, Carnival... few survived more than a season, all of those shows came out a decade too early to get the respect they could have had, but at least they exist... and in many ways they paved the way for the TV of today. The Dead Like Me movies fine... its got one plot thats great, the other plots meh. Its worth seeing for the good plot though. Its 'sister' show 'Pushing Daisies' is worth a watch, similar but at the same time very much not... unfortunately it also suffered a short life. (oops lots of others mentioning 'Pushing Daises' but hey lol).
Not to spoil it for you, but as great as that ending was between George and Reggie was in this episode, you should really watch the movie to get the PROPER ending with actual closure between the two of them. They screwed up a lot of things in that movie (for some of them, their hands were tied, or they were forced into not-so-great decisions), but that was the one thing they got perfectly right in the movie.
DLM was a victim of new management. Showtime hired a new President Robert Greenblatt, and he axed most of the old roster, he wanted it to all be content he okayed. I had heard this rumour for a long time, but didnt know how reliable it was till I talked with 1 of the cast 1 day, and that person explicitly put the blame on Greenblatt as well. As for the movie. Compared to the show it sucks hard.....but I guess, is watchable....kind of. It does have an interesting end. I just simply never bought the recast & the new character. Both were a massive downgrade. They should have just literally pushed filming back 3 months, both Mandy & Laura would have been available.
There was no resolution, no wrap up. Many things were hinted that were supposed to lead to something in the future. Crystal searching for Georgia Lass’ file…. At this point no one knew they were going to be cancelled yet. I expected another season after this episode. It broke my heart when I learned later Dead Like Me was cancelled. I binged watch the two seasons over and over again to console myself. It did not work. Reggie seeing George in the end. How could they end like that? I wanted more…….the new boss ended this show because he wanted his own projects, this is what I heard.

This series is easily in my top 10, thanks for reacting
I watched every single one of your reactions to this series. Thanks for making me revisit this gem.
I really enjoyed Dead Like Me when it originally aired. I also enjoyed your reactions to it. You are the first one to do so as far as I can tell.

Pushing Daisies was amazing.
Timely reaction for this episode.

Love from canada 🇨🇦 😊 keep up great work😊
Before you carve one try sketching some on paper or use markers on the pumpkin before you cut. I love carving scary jack o lanterns.
I enjoy your reactions to anything, even when it doesn't match mine. You are a charming person. Thanks. Love the accent.
Love the Halloween episode!

You would like the TV series The Leftovers. Preacher would also provide super entertainment value. Both have life, death, and deeper engagement.
i'm a long time fan of this series. I think Larissa will like the movie
PHI-nallie!

There is a dead like me movie after this you should react to that too
I really enjoyed your reactions to this gem. The movie is not as good but i think its worth watching at least once.

The one thing that's inconsistent in the show is how they appear to the living would be love to see others in the show
It was cancelled because of a new boss of Showtime coming in and he wanted to use the slot for his own pet project (Weed)
Ooft... I really liked Weeds, didnt know it was potentially the reason DLM was canceled, thats somewhat depressing.
Was that the first time Krystal talked?
The movie is not the vision of the creator. It's really off the wall strange...and not really in a good way.
