I bought the same saw 3 weeks ago and I’ve watched a dozen videos on building a table. Amazing how many guys build a table using complex tools. No offense to them but it’s a chicken and egg thing. Videos using a complete shop of cool machines is worthless to most of us knuckleheads. Your table is simple but sturdy and has great utility. I have all the tools you used in your video. I love this table. I’m heading out to get material now. Thank you for sharing.
I'm not a carpenter, but as an electrician I learned you can improvise with many other tools. I think they just use what you call advanced tools to look more professional and do the job faster. You could probably build the table with a hand saw and a hammer, it would just take you forever. 😂
I loved the simple design. I made my first mobile bench using your video. I made mine without the built in table saw as mine is already on a mobile construction site stand, but it is the same height as the bench top so I can use it next to the bench as an extension. I made one minor design change. I cut a 2x4 in half and put it around the edge of the bench along with the 2x4 frame. This makes it easier to use clamps around the edges and also allowed me to screw down the top from the underside. Thanks again for your video.
so a 2x2 inch piece all around the bench? Flush with the top? Sounds like a plan. I'm going to have a go at making this bench. Which table saw have you got? Cheers 🤓
Great idea on the 2 2x4 overlapping to be a 4x4 strong support. Reduce a lot of cuts and reduce the waste. The car jack is also a genius use. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! With basic tools and fasteners, you've shown how to create a functional workbench on which to build a whole range of more sophisticated projects. Lots of videos on UA-cam use fancy joinery and expensive tools; now those of us with smaller budgets and less woodworking experience can join in the fun too! Guess I no longer have any excuse for not having my own workbench.... Thanks.
Смотрю который раз. Классное получилось у вас подстолье и верстак. Я многие анализировал, у вас один из лучших проектов. Вы молодец, простота конструкции и надежность. Повторю такой же, но поуже 1200 для моей мастерской это много) 👍👍👍
Simple design, nicely made (apart from the complete lack of countersinking). This video has given me plenty of ideas for my next work table. My use the scissor jack idea to raise and lower the saw into position in order that it can be hidden when not needed. Thank you very much for sharing.
Just amazing I like the simplicity I’ve never seen anybody install drawer slides that way. I’ve also not seen anybody adjust the table height using a jack. I’m on my way to Home Depot to get some 2x4’s! i’m thinking of putting my chopsaw at the opposite end from the tablesaw, I’m going to put it down low so when i’m not using it it’s going to be level with the outfeed table.
Thankyou for this benchtop design. I have been watching this video for months and i finally got around to doing it. Thankyou also do mark denson for plans which i printed out. Unfortunately i still have more work to do as the table saw i have on order has been delayed due to recent events so i have not got the saw shelf put in yet. Anyone considering building a mobile bench even without the saw should follow similar plans. To do the top i could only get 17mm plywood sheets. I screwed the first sheet down on the top. I then filled the underside with a grid of screws. I covered the top in glue then place a second sheet of 17mm plywood down. I used weights and clamps on top then screwed from underneith. This avoided having screws on top. Someone in the comments mentioned that a table top overhang would be good for clamping. After building the bench and starting a new project i think this wouldd be a good consideration. You can always work something else out though. I am now looking to get a finishing product for the top to make it smooth and glue resistant. Could somebody help me out. Point me at some bunnings products. By the way i am new to all this woodworking and building this bench has helped my confidence. Cheers.
OK that's it!!! I've been watching a couple of videos on how to do a workbench but most of them is done with specific tools and more complex action. Yours is perfect, efficient and easy and it's not in a bad way! Thank you, I'll now start building mine using you ideas :)
Onr of the best videos on building a bench as it doesn't utilise a huge work shop full of industrial tools. Sadly im new and its a little difficult to follow for my newbie eyes but will re watch a few times and see what i come up with . Thanks for the great video
Agree. Inspirational. There are some really flashy builds with hidden pocket screws, torsion boxes, hardwood edging, but this finds the perfect pragmatic balance, and done with tools we can all get hold of. I'll be adjusting mine to accommodate a more affordable table/mitre combi saw on an adjustable shelf. Music was lovely too.
Congrats and thank you ! best video on how to make a great working bench, without all the boring explanation, and yes many times it’s needed but this is a simpler way of showing all of us beginners ,and it really keeps us focus on the importance of the piece and the logical steps to fallow, thanks again !
Such a great simple design, I’m definitely using this method for my table saw. Appreciated the Steve by step process in the video. Plus the jacks were a great idea, probably wouldn’t have thought of that.
This video is DIY woodworking perfection. Edited down to it’s minimum, not a word spoken. I appreciated the humility too, face and head covered, let the work speak for itself. Thank you, well done!
I love it, great thinking. If you have a chance and the space, put the circle saw in the long side of a 4*8 this gives you more support cutting wider sheets of plywood and still have the outfeed table and the workbench you want thanks for sharing.
This is the most practical and functional bench I've seen. Excellent job. Can you describe the measurements you used? Congratulations and thank you !!!
Many, many thanks from germany for the great content!!! For someone with no experience at all it helped me a lot by planning my own first workbench. Due to your tips the result has become very solid.
Yeah David, as others have already said this is a super simple (but very effective) build. I am just about to move my workshop to a bigger unit and first thing on my "to build" list is a large workbench with integrated space for my Dewalt table saw. I will be using your video plans as I found it really easy to follow. I will however make one extra addition to all screwed joints.. Glue! Just for added stability, as it will get a lot of moving around my shed. Thanks for sharing. ;)
That’s looks really strong and easy to make. I have one similar with a folding outfeed table. This looks like it would be great as outfeed and assembly. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Fantastic build! Simple, strong, straight forward. I love it! One thing I've noticed is some people don't like the music. Well, that's fine, everybody's different; but I'm on the other side. I really don't like it when the person doing the building won't shut up. They just keep talking - blah, blah, blah, blah. I much prefer the music.
I totally had this same idea today. looking to build a 4 in 1 workbench to house my chop saw, table saw, joiner and planer. i had this idea but little different and i was so proud of it. then i come across your video and its much easier your way. so I'm not going to try my way and I'll use your way instead. thanks
Hi. Your video has been huge for me. I’m building my first workbench and have designed it in part based on yours and on how you went about doing it. Thanks very much for sharing.
I just finished the table, rock solid, thanks for uploading this. Really enjoyed making it. Going to put in the table saw next and add my own style. Kept looking back on the video for support, thank you.
Nice build im sure it will give you many years of use and I like that you put wheels under it. Might be my OCD but pocket holes are your friend very strong and you would hide all those exposed screws.
He visto muchísimas ideas para hacer un banco en donde además tener almacenamiento y mi sierra de mesa y definitivamente esta es la mejor y también compartes las medidas ...espectacular gracias, ganaste un suscriptor
Hi Kurt! Thanks so much for the kind comment. I am very glad that this video was of help to you. Thanks for watching and subscribing and please stay tuned for future videos!
Thank you very much for making and sharing this video. I love your idea for making the legs. I am part way through making your design, with a couple of changes to suit my circumstances. Great job! 👍👍
Very nicely done! Thank you! I started my build yesterday based on this and made it a little too tall lol. I also underestimated how many 2x4’s it takes. Super sturdy though!
I've looked at many videos of workbench builds and I keep coming back to this one. The design is simple yet elegant. Nice work! I am curious why you decided to offset the middle legs partway through through the build. I am thinking of adding a station for my compound miter saw near the end opposite the table saw and thinking the middle legs would be strongest in the center.
I think the beauty of this is that you can build one yourself based on where it will be stored when not being used. I would get a notepad and start with the compact table saw. How much space do you want on the sides ? What is the max rip depth ? Another thing to consider is building a movable support for leading into the saw cut (maybe 12" or so). At the other end maybe do a cutout for a compact router table (I use mine all of the time). then figure how much run out space you would desire off of the table saw. The drawers are nice but a place to put a small vacuum would be awesome to catch the dust from the table saw. Mount a power strip in the side for assembly tools after it is all built and you are set. I think I am on my way to the lumberyard to get some supplies...
Been struggling with my jobsite saw on just about every project - never seem to have enough table space and am always afraid of tipping. You made this project look attainable. Ordered casters a few minutes ago, and tonight I'm gonna grab the 2x4's for the frame. Thanks!
Thanks mate for your helpful explanation! One note by myself, screwing into wood should be prebored in every case. If you do so, it could be more accurate. There is still the risk that the screwed points are gonna brake down.
👍👍👍Great job. I like the way you set the height of the saw table. But why glue the legs together? Screws and bolts will do the job with the added benefit that you can dismantle and re-purpose it later, if need be. Nice music, btw.
exactly what ive been looking for, great ideas, simple clear cut design. awesome video, thank you! would love to see your take on a castored miter saw stand as well.
David, with your permission, I will post a copy of the plans that I created from your video. They are in PDF form but show measurements in English (inches and feet).
The car jack to get it levelled was a stroke of brilliance.
This probably one of the workbench best designs and the easiest to follow.
I bought the same saw 3 weeks ago and I’ve watched a dozen videos on building a table. Amazing how many guys build a table using complex tools. No offense to them but it’s a chicken and egg thing. I love this table. I’m heading out to get material now. Thank you for sharing.
Chicken and egg is right! If there's one thing I'm learning in this hobby, it's that each shop project usually needs 2 more to finish it.
I'm not a carpenter, but as an electrician I learned you can improvise with many other tools. I think they just use what you call advanced tools to look more professional and do the job faster. You could probably build the table with a hand saw and a hammer, it would just take you forever. 😂
Which Model Dewalt Saw is this?
@@kenstokes2528 it looks pretty similar to my 7485 but the feet are a bit different
i agree. I have watched videos where the builder makes it extremely difficult using all sorts of expensive tools. This is kept simple. I like it
Love the use of the car jack to get the right height.
Brilliant well done.

This is the one I have., the link I copied said thinking about buying it.
Wow genius idea using the car jack for leveling the saw! Great build thanks for sharing! 👌
the car jack idea to get the table saw in alignment. Genius!!!!
Great idea on the 2 2x4 overlapping to be a 4x4 strong support. Reduce a lot of cuts and reduce the waste.
The car jack is also a genius use.
Thanks for sharing.

Staggering the two boards for the legs instead of having to cut out the notches is GENIUS
Appreciate you watching !
Love the staggered boards!!!! Fantastic design!
Can’t wait to make mine!
I agree I like it too
Seen it on other videos too. I agree. I see no reason in doing it the other way when building with construction lumber. Thanks for sharing!
Good idea, will use this.
Oh my gosh, using those jacks to install the shelf for the table saw blew my mind! Now THAT is a life hack!

I'm mostly impressed by all that lumber that looks straight. Surely you built a time machine to pick up your order that day.
Definitely didn't buy from the green shed
Love how you used the scissor jacks to set the height for the saw platform.
It makes me sick to see such a good idea when I struggled to do get the height correct.
Thank you very much
Thanks for watching and the support!
@@jondavidmusick8864 this scissor jack is also used as a height adjustment for the router :)
Same here, I was like ah man I wish I thought of that before lol
Glad you were wearing a high vis vest in the first part of the video. You can never be too careful. Especially when working alone.
Hi, I'm new to this, but I'm working to build a workbench using your video, it's so simple and easy.
Thank you for this video

I think the beauty of this is that you can build one yourself based on where it will be stored when not being used. I would get a notepad and start with the compact table saw. How much space do you want on the sides ? What is the max rip depth ? Another thing to consider is building a movable support for leading into the saw cut (maybe 12" or so). At the other end maybe do a cutout for a compact router table (I use mine all of the time). then figure how much run out space you would desire off of the table saw.
