Congrats ! I’ve never seen a lawnmower blenny as thin as yours. That must be some kind of record. Glad you’re sponsored good sir keep em coming !! EXCELENT video editing by the way !! Top notch.
Fingers crossed! Thanks for the kind words and I'm hoping for some good news too! Just moved the nem over to the new tank yesterday, so tune in next week for the update!
The nem treatment is interesting. Really enjoying it. Fingers crossed all works out and your nem pulls through! Also I have to say, thanks for sharing all. The good and the bad. It really separates you from a lot of others.
Hope your nems pull through. It’s not through your lack of trying. Sorry about your clownfish. That sucks when this happens. I’ve had that happen to me with a couple of wrasses took a plunge because I didn’t cover the top of the tank appropriately. 🥴
I usually use a mixture of water and vinegar to wash my hands with anytime I have to put my hands in the tank. In case you were concerned about soap or chemicals. I just found your channel and I recognize you from MarineDepot😎. I just bought a RO/DI unit from you guys! Great video, I just subscribed 👍🏻
Hey, thanks for finding us! You are the second person to recommend vinegar! I don't know why I never thought of it! I'm going to do that from now on! Thanks!
I always put seaweed for my Benny and blue tang after my tank was over on all kinds of problems like the algae bloom. So they have always good algae available.
Hey! thanks for the great content! Just one small recommendation I felt the need to make, before putting your hands in the tank, it's preferable to sterilize your hands by lightly spraying your hands and arms with vinegar. i.e. wash with water --> spray vinegar --> wash with water. That way you avoid introducing contaminants/harmful bacteria into your tank.
Dunno if anyone has ever expressed this already, but you remind me of Neil Patrick Harris 😊 Enjoy all of your videos and content! always waiting for the next one, thank you!
Wow, thank you! And that's funny, because 10-15 years ago I would get that all the time! But as I've aged, I haven't heard it in a while!! But I'll take it as a compliment as I'm a Neil Patrick Harris fan! And I also do love show tunes, so maybe you're not too far off!
I had a few issues with the four channel version of this doser and it did the same as yours did... but then all of a sudden it just connected. I hope to god it doesn’t reset as I feel like it was just luck 😂 thanks for the content as always 👍🔥
Well here is the dosing reservoir! www.marinedepot.com/partners/idevaffiliate.php?id=102&url=4104 And I just use 5 gallon buckets for my ato reservoirs, but you can find some fancy ones at Marine Depot!
You should add a clownfish or smth to the 14 gallon, or a damsel, because fish waste is one of the best ways to help cycle a tank. A 14g should not take 3 weeks (I believe thats what you said?). Clowns and damsels are not sensitive to water chemistry fluctuations so you, and the fish, would be fine.
It's a good idea, but I prefer a fishless cycle. Just nicer to the fish. My problem was I used Microbacter 7 which is evidently not good for initialing cycling the tank!
You know, I did start using it, but I didn't follow its instructions from the beginning. I probably should have drained out the water and the microbacter 7, and then started fresh! Oh well, lesson learned! I'm learning patience though! Just tested again tonight, and virtually no progress!!!
I actually just make the lids myself. I think I have a video or two on it. Here are the links. ua-cam.com/video/hVrHeeksXPc/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/jKHYQ8NEMtU/v-deo.html
1). I’ve lost so many jumpers... tank gotta be covered yet I see everyone’s wide open. WHY???? 2). Piano in same room with tanks!! WHY???? Maybe you are lucky & humidity is good. I’m still planning on getting a 180 & it will be covered with glass
Hey Jeff, I know, gots to have it covered! And we actually keep the piano in the same room, but we live in in the desert, so our house is soooo dry! Can't wait to see that 180 gallon!I'm trying to find a good 120 gallon peninsula tank myself!
I hate to laugh, but the censorship of the toasted fish like a body from a news crime scene made me laugh. Had he not censored it I wouldn't have thought twice about seeing a deceased clownfish.
I can't even remember which one that is? But all of the tanks in the Gallery are here to stay! I will be replacing the Fluval M60 with a 40 gallon upgrade, and I will be moving the anemone hospital tank to a new location once the seahorse tank arrives!
I have 5 RBTAs that are doing great in my tank and I don’t go through the level of testing and detail that you’re going through. On the other hand, I’ve had 2 green and 1 white bta that perished in the same tank with the rbtas. I guess I’m just not meant to have any other color bta?🤷🏻♂️ Good luck!
Isn't that weird! I bet you'd have success with the other nems if you tried again! I will not give up until I have 15 happy nems in this tank! So stay tuned... this may take a while!
@@MyFirstFishTank I lost the two green btas about a month ago. Just melted away and disappeared. I added two rbtas a couple of weeks ago and they're thriving. I will say this. The rbtas I added was from a local guy that I got my other rbta that's doing great. So, maybe he's doing something right in how he's raising them so they're more hardy. In fact, the rbtas are all from local reefers and the ones that didn't make it all came from LFSs. Two different LFSs, too.
@@MyFirstFishTank I was talking to a friend about putting in a colorado sunburst anemone in my tank with the rbtas and he said he's found that they occasionally don't mix well together. That might be another reason why my green btas never make it. Something to be aware of.
