I remember talking with Johnny one day (early 80s) and he told me he was taking a bunch of old Gloucestershire poems and putting them to music. Never gave it another thought until he sent me the album one day as a gift (I had helped him with a couple of demo tapes). To this day this is one of my favorite albums.
He made a brilliant BBC series about Songs Of Gloucestershire at that time but try as I might over the intervening years I've never seen a copy of it anywhere. I keep on hoping the BBC will put it on their iPlayer archive collection.
