Came across Johnny in 2010 with Mike Silver.Apart from really, REALLY loving their songs they have both encouraged me to develop my guitar '"talents" further. A wonderful help. Thank you!!
I first heard this 40 years ago when Johnny was on a late night Sunday evening programme on Capital Radio in the Uk. He became a staple of my radio programmes in Abu Dhabi in 1986-88. A wonderful musician and fabulous songs.
This must be one of the most beautiful voices in music. When Coppin sings together with Mike Silver they create some of the best singersong-writing melodies in history. I´ve been listening to Johnny Copping since the middle of the 70´s when he was a member of the underrated folk-rock groups Decameron. Many thanks for posting this fantastic music.
Just come across this guy and wow what a voice he is brilliant. I am 62 and never heard of him before. He may be from the West Country but he really should be national
i am a cheltenham man living in Scotland, this song just hits the mark, when the sea mist rolls in and the wind blows cold off the north sea ,and i feel just a bit nostalgic about warm days cycling arround the cotswolds, when i was a boy.
wow thanks for posting this, as a family originally from Gloucestershire, makes me feel like im home, i used to love forrest and vale when i was a kid, good memories ; )
We went to Johnny Coppin's wonderful West Country Christmas Shows in Cheltenham all through the 1990s, the 1997 show was broadcast on BBC Radio Gloucester. Does anyone have a recording of that as I only have audience recordings?
How the hell has he been going for so long, producing so much top class material & remain so little heard of except in "our world"! Are you a mudcatter?
Some years back I phoned red sky records to order some more Christmas cd’s , it was a Sunday , Johnny actually answered the phone , took the order , and had a wee chat about Scotland where I live , wouldn’t get that from a nationally known artist , maybe he has been a best kept secret , if you know what I mean
So special. Favourite of my beloved Mum who passed away 3 years ago today. 🙏

The entire world needs to recognize this man’s gift of voice and music. Terrorists would bow to this man
Ah, the Coppin magic! Goose-bumps are an ever-present hazard!
This man is a HUGE talent & one of the most wonderful people you could ever wish to meet.
