If this Henry Mancini masterpiece is not the most beautiful love song ever written, it must be in the top five. Played by master Martin Taylor - just exquisitely lovely!
spot on, Charles. Martin always says his inspirations were always Jazz pianists, not necessarily guitarists - he says this every time he plays his signature solo tune 'I Got Rhythm' at concerts. So much so that he recorded an entire solo guitar album dedicated to Art Tatum.
Dudley moore n julie Andrews said this was there favorite Mancini composition...Mancini loved theme from 10 it's easy to say...beautiful guitar playing captures essence of the tune
Martin Taylor is a brilliant guitarist. I often think how he must have been influenced by his father, a jazz bassist. Martin eloquently sings the melody and the counter bass line, and the inner voice harmonies appear. And one of my favorite Mancini love songs.
charles, isn’t he just. I still am his online student there, which you’d see me on his Video Exchanges section at Artistworks. Anyone can learn to play this particular version of this song on Artistworks. This is quite an old video which I filmed, though. I filmed his show a few weeks ago as well as last November, which you’d see them on Martin’s own Patreon site. I’m looking forward to seeing him again later in the year at his guitar retreat in Scotland near his home. I hope to see you there.

As a guitarist I realize now listening and watching Martin Taylor play how piano players must how felt watching Art Tatum or Bill Evans play .

The very definition of making it look easy but the whole here is more than the sum of its very considerable parts
