Blind toddler with cane

- Kyden is now 2.5 years old and is using her cane for travel everywhere we go. She does not often hold hands and does not ride in the cart at the grocery store. We started with her cane at 8 months and she used it while learning to walk. She has amazed teachers and her O&M instructer. She is very independent now. This video we were taking for her birthparents in India but you can see some of her cane use. I will be posting more video soon of just her cane use. If you have any questions, please ask!
You should not be sorry for her, she is a miracle and she gets the gift of life. She seems more then happy just the way she is. You really shouldn't be judgmental. Until she gets up there and says she does not like the way she is then you should keep ignorant comments to yourself.

She needs a long cane with a ball on the end. Ideally it should be about nose height. The novelty may help. It's inevitable that they may get behind at school, which doesn't mean they are not as bright, but the correct method of teaching is not being used. used.
