Nice set of videos! I just purchased a Nerdy Gurdy Linotte kit and have started the assembly process and these videos are very helpful. There are some differences in the current Linotte kit (version 1.3 as of Oct, '24) vs the one in the video so the parts/assembly process is a bit different though similar enough to make these videos very valuable. Great job, thanks!!!.

These videos are really phenomenal! Every time I've had a question that I couldn't figure out from the guide (like, how to actually string the instrument!), I came to your videos and found a nice demonstration of what I was uncertain about! Thank you for doing such a great job documenting the entire process.

So I just contacted a laser cutting store near me and emailed them a link to the kit on thingiverse to see how much it would cost. Because I've loved the look and sound of a hurdy gurdy for ages now and want to get into learning to play it.

Thank you for your very informative video. On how to build a Nerdy Gurdy. It will be useful when I get my kit. It's good you showed and explained, the mistakes and problems you had in the Building of your kit. Explaining the mistakes not to make and what to do if you do make them. good to know.🙂👍👍

Adore this series. So good! A string winder would save a wee bit of time on the stringing.

Any advice on getting a buzz out of the dogs? I've been struggling with mine for going on six months now & they still haven't made a sound.

Initially, the dogs fit too tightly into their slots, so I filed down the "tail" end for a looser fit. I also had to play with the tension of my tyrant strings. It took a bit of fiddling.

It’s called rosin, it’s a type of tree sap. It makes the wheel sticky, and the friction causes the string to vibrate. It’s the same substance they use on the bows for violins and other stringed instruments

Don't worry, I have another one I'm getting ready to put together at the beginning of the year. We'll see how that one turns out. :D
