that black round switch can be cleaned it does come apart Carefully take apart the end cap & clean all the contacts add some dielectric grease to all the contacts and reassemble, another method to get the truck to crank is( but only with the original switch still installed) 1-open driver door leave open key out 2- insert key only (don't try to crank) 3-count 7 quick dings 4- immediately turn key to On position 5- count 5 slow dings and watch for a few dash lights to go out 6-Crank truck **NOTE if you lock the doors or use the Key Fob most likely truck want crank again just repeat the steps .
Bro I’ve been watching several videos to find out the problem and I’ve ordered the part and yesterday I did change the stupid plastic part and nothing and today I was massing around trying to do the 10x10 3 time and nothing and remember like your friend said put the old part back and guess what put that darn part back and turn on like nothing 😤
I have this same issue. Except you don't need to leave the key on for those 15 minutes (no need to drain your battery). You can just turn it off and wait. Also, I found I can start it as soon as 13 minutes after the first fail. I have only ever had it fail twice in a row two times. At some point a couple years ago, I needed to replace an O2 sensor and this problem went away for over a year. I thought it was fixed. But it came back and now I get it once or twice a month again. So, perhaps the fix shown here isn't really a fix either.
My truck won't go through the proper procedure to program my key fob. Do you think relearning the key will work for me? I can't even get to the point where I cn program the fob!
How can I find out if my 2006 GMC Canyon has the recall I’m having issues with my truck where the lock just comes on while I’m driving then gauges stop working and it says low fuel on dash I’m thinking because the gauge stopped working then it’s like it Boggs down I just had the transmission replaced at the dealership and they said it will be 2 weeks before I can even get in to have them look at it I can’t reverse and. Now it says service 4x4 this truck has been a nightmare and it’s only been a year this month since I bought it and in total probably only been able to drive it a total 3 months I’ve had it at two dealerships now I’m extremely disappointed in Chevy/ GMC
it's so irritating when people say we do this we do this to the truck but you don't show us what are you talkin about blue wire white wire what is it be more pacific and show step by step
Jarvis, the wire he is talking about is just ONE wire that is white with a blue stripe. It is located below your steering column. You may want to remove the plastic partition first. Just replace the passlock switch and re learn the key ,is gonna take you 30 to 40 min, is not just like this guy did , turn ignition on for 10 min ,then turn off, do this 3 times,if u no do this correct the first time, u gonna get screwed
That's what's up bro appreciate you.

What does relearning do? My key is an old school metal one what is is learning?
The bcm goes out on these 2
Did it crank at all when it was acting up or just crank but no fire?
The security light stayed on or it blinked?
What's the key look like
What year is your truck?
Where the link for the ignition?
😹
My Chevy doesn’t stay charged ever. I take it to get tested and the battery and alternator are good
This is a recall issue I hate my 2007 Isuzu I290 which is a Chevy Colorado, I have another car and my truck just sits.

The Colorado, Silverado, GMC Canyon are essentially the same truck and the sensors right back to the motherboard are crap.
Did you have the code b2960? This is the same thing that happened to me!!!!!
pass lock is $89.
I tried this on my 2009 Colorado and it did not work.

@@Zdabmurz85 did you already changed the sensor switch? If no sometimes takes like 20 o 30 min
Before replacing it, sometimes I had to wait up to 30 minutes I was very frustrated
Yup I just changed it today and tried the relearn procedure but didn't work for me off and for ten minutes etc.
The security light never turns off or blinks ..so maybe I need to wait longer than 10 minutes before I try to start it up again?
What the heck is this video. Long story
