In my opinion the most iconic, powerful moment in the entire franchise. The sudden crying out of rage and pain which pushes him over the edge is one of the most well voiced moments by the voice actor.
This scene.. With the Bruce Falcouners OST and the moment of despair seeing Krillin got blown up.. I still remember that scene watching from our old TV after school and I think I never expected so much goosebumps. Till this day this scene never gets old and is one of my and my generations favorite and most important anime episode aired. DBZ never gets old
I'm 34 and my household didn't have the internet yet when I was watching this saga on TV so I had no idea what a Super Saiyan even WAS lol. I for real believed Vegeta early on when he claimed to be one. I don't remember even seeing a picture of golden hair or anything..and even if I did I probably would've thought it was fan art or something. So when I saw this shit... Dude. My brother and I would reenact this moment out in the backyard, taking turns on who gets to be Goku. Just crazy lol. Loving y'all's stuff man, glad I'm almost caught up ✊🏽

Also note at this point Goku thinks that even if Piccolo survives, the dragon won't grant the same wish to bring Krillin back.. That's why the narrator uses the phrase, "...avenge his close friend Krillin"
Honestly the Bruce Faulconer soundtrack for this scene made the Super Saiyan transformation even more epic. Best scene in all of DBZ and it's not even close. I know power levels is kinda of pointless but I should tell you that Super Saiyan transformations is 50x the normal base strength. Since Goku's PL was 3m before the fight began. It's now 150m (3m x 50). Just to give you some idea. Cannot wait for future reactions

Ngl, I had the same reaction as you man... haha couldn't keep a straight face when I was watching SSJ's transformation, it was the first time for my colleagues.
As far as dubs go... I like the ocean dub up until the end of this saga...then switch to the texas guys ... feels like the characters grow up over time that way... No hate... just how I do it
i tell yha the funimation dub really does it justice hear as sadly kai messed up real good and that's the series people don't like. Like when i watch kai it just doesn't make you feel anything it just has a softer touch to it. But glad you watch this in the funimation dub format with the bruce faulconer soundtracks in it.
As someone who grew up with the original and watching it countless of times I only watched the falconer score once now recently and I have to say that overall the original is better. But the in the Super Saiyan transformations part the falconer production outstripped the original.
