    Oh man, I saw that wood bridge come out of nowhere and my first thought was "coming in too angled considering the slickness". Such calm recovery though - I would have been letting out a few choice swearwords, LOL!
    I like that the log skinny was the best route option - takes skill to ride a skinny when you're givin'er - and it doesn't often come up in race conditions because such features usually slow you down.

      @JesseMelamedMTB  2 роки тому +6

      I think I've gotten away with that a few too many times and this time I was just a little too over confident going into it. No time to swear! Just have to get straight back to the game plan.

    Nice recovery. I think that's the hardest part in racing. Making a mistake or crashing and then continuing to focus. Without giving up or pushing too hard.

    • @JesseMelamedMTB
      @JesseMelamedMTB  2 роки тому +2

      Exactly, it's too easy to try and make up for the mistake when really there is nothing you can do, just go back to riding like you wanted.

    That trail was the true essence of Enduro, descents and climbs, would have been awesome to ride.The enduros i ride in Australia lack a good climb in the stages, trails with both show what good endurance riding is! Well done mate that was an awesome run (Although i am sure there are people that are pissed they wont get 1st place because your entering) 😛

    @Jesse! Would you say that the speed that you hit crouching at actually smooths out the trail somewhat? I am a somewhat advanced rider and go about 50% of the speed you do (ha), but feel like if I just trusted my bike a bit more and let off the brakes, it would feel the same as going from 1kmph > 10kmph does (feels like it smooths out the trail). Is that true? Do I just need to trust my bike and skills and let fly through the rough a bit more?

    • @JesseMelamedMTB
      @JesseMelamedMTB  2 роки тому +1

      In some ways! If you’re able to jump over or unweight over rough sections then yes, but when you mess up lines and are going faster it can be more rough.

    What’s the best way to go about pre riding in the days leading up to the race? It was my first time in Squamish on Friday, rode all the stages, but was cooked for the race come sat. Is it better to just ride blind with more power vs. having 1 lap but completely gassed?

    • @JesseMelamedMTB
      @JesseMelamedMTB  2 роки тому

      That's something that is different for different people. I do best with just one practice lap and gopro to watch later. I think one practice lap is pretty essential though, so it sounds like maybe some training for 2 big days back to back could help.
