Sirfetch'd is the real mvp here. Took out Miltoic and did enough damage to Garchomp so it wasn't at full strength when facing Lucario
It also has faught Solgaleo to a draw. Not to mention did HUGE damage Leon's Rillaboom.

And even though he fainted, he never hit the ground. Kept himself up even in defeat
Pikachu is the real mvp for dealing with spiritomb’s hypnosis and taking it out which was the ultimate reason as to why ash was able to carry on battling

Ash finally learnt that evolving pokemon and ev iv training them with good moves wins him fight. Friendship is good and all but yeah good luck with a Metapod with maximum harden.😂
I know Ash won but Cynthia is definitely the better and more experienced trainer. Using Spiritomb to take out Dragonite and not allowing Ash to build momentum, Destiny Bond knowing Ash wanted to turn the tide with Pikachu, Stealth Rock setup, spamming Max Airstream, frequent substitutions, this was the best display of strategy and tactics used in any battle.
Cynthia is so OP the writers had to nerf her team by using Gastrodon instead of her Lucario.
But uhhh,her building move to Garchomp wasn't that great cause she got 3 Dragon types move which make like a little damage to a pokemon like Lucario so....

Her in-game adaption wasn’t that great. Was tactically good but looked utterly perplexed whenever Ash pulled out his typical “Out of the box” thinking. She was lucky Spiritomb was strong enough to withstand Gengars dazzling gleam and knew destiny bond to take down Pikachu with it as well.
Another example is not Mega evolving Garchomp. Ash's win is deserved for that reason alone.
And did she use her Lucario in any fight in the Anime!!?It was even less mentioned than Iris's Gible I think.

@@MdShihab-dm5tu plus garchomp was severely weakened by sirfetch'd. At that time it was better to use dynamax togekiss. It would use max airstream to take out mega lucario. If that does not work, togekiss would go back to normal and take out lucario with its boosted speed from all of those max airstream.And if that did not work, mega lucario would be at least tired enough for garchomp to defeat it. They were both exhausted from preivious battles to the point that their battle was mostly all out brawl that lasted for 3 minutes.

Honestly, yes, and the same thing with his fight against Steven. Both Cynthia and Steven should’ve won, but plot armor saved Ash. I’m not mad because Ash is the mc and he had to win for Iris, but still
So im just noticing that you can tell Garchomp was not expecting farfetched to be capable of that. You see it shocked coming out completely unscathed by dragon scale, got annoyed it dodged dragon claw with detect, and was thinking "oh shit" after the meteor assault.
You can also see how annoyed Lucario got at Togekiss at the end. That last punch was PERSONAL
Maybe the most satisfying battle in the entire series for me. Cynthia is my favorite champion and IMO the most well developed champion in the anime. I mean she and Ash becoma good firends over the course the series. Proof: Pikachu jumped in her arms when they reunited in Journeys, that usually only happens with companions.
A battle between her and Ash was first teased so many years ago and finally see it happening was one my favorite moments in the entire series.

Everyone expected Mega Garchomp, and so did Ash and must've prepared for it. That switching up at the last moment showed how unpredictable Cynthia can be. It was a good bet, and Ash got through on sheer will.
there was also the fact that sirfetch'd damaged garchomp. Togekiss without dmaxing would have lose must faster to Lucario so if Cynthia mega evolved her garchomp, it would have gone against almost fresh Mega Lucario

So heres a fun little nerdy bit for yall saying cynthia should have mega evolved her garchomp.
In the history of competitive pokemon, normal garchomp has always been stronger than mega garchomp. Let me explain~
Normal garchomp is faster than its mega and can become even faster AND stronger than it's mega just by holding an item. Something a mega pokemon cant do cause they need an item to evolve. Now i dont mean its attack stat becomes stronger, that can only be done with swords dance, which a normal garchomp can get away with using since it can out speed most of the meta game, but the ability to use held items, makes normal garchomp stronger than its mega. From healing damge (leftovers), weaking damage taken (berries), removing statuses (lum berry), increasing the chip damage from its ability (rocky helmet), making it even faster or stronger (choice scarf or life orb).
Sssssooo if cynithia did mega evolve her garchomp, then lucario would have had an easier time winning due to its far superior speed stat plus no longer having its hp chipped away from garchomps rough skin ability.
That's only the case in the games. You can't apply game mechanics 1:1 to the anime. If Cynthia Mega evolved her Garchomp she would have won we see that with how close the match was.
