Next video will be a breakdown in a new weapon type. Which one is it?
I'd love to see a G-Kat video
Throwing daggers (1)
obviously, Light Greatsword. right?
I'm sure light greatsword & backhand blade will be most popular, but I'd love to see a numbers analysis on scaling smithscript weapons.
Thrusting shields
THRUSTING SHIELDS!
If it's not clear, I love that weapon
Reminder. Revered Spirit Ashes buff Torrent's max health. Even if you hate spirit ashes, use them if you don't want to constantly get knocked off your horse.
And then you still get stun locked by two trash mobs with torches until you fall on the ground and lay there in a 13 minute long animation or until it gets interrupted by something hitting the character hard enough.
makes sense... its rough to see torrent getting one shotted everywhere. thanks for the tip
"Revered Spirit Ashes buff Torrent's max health"
Supposedly (I know, the game says so), cause it barely seems to matter even at high blessing levels.
You'll appreciate it taking two furnace golem stomp fire waves to take Torrent out over one
Dude, every time i see that acronym my brain automatically goes "Scholar of the first E? what?”
Every. Single. Time
Same...
scholar of the first erdtree
michael zaki really cooked calling back to ds2.
SCADOOSH !
*Gasp
"The wuxi finger hold!?"
THANK- Also, apparently Scadu is supposed to be pronounced shadow, it's the old english spelling
Or you can do what I do and call them Skibidi Fragments
@@mes0gots0its A streamer I'm following calls them that too.
My dyslexic ass read it as “scattertree fragments” for a long time lol.
@@mes0gots0its its skedaddle fragments
skibidi tree
you can find even more scadutree fragments before the first boss as fort emsis is optional. theres a path around it just like for margit
uh really, will search for that
@@SteelStorm33 go to castle front side grace, head south east through a poison swamp, look for a spiritspring, unlock it, grab the grace up there, leave fort reprimand and u have successfully bypassed fort emsis.
@@Mineral4r7s More easily, you can just hang right and land on the ground beside the fort. It's much easier to dash past the Virgin Abductors on horseback than to run away from the Omenkillers on foot.
I'm pretty sure theres only three areas of the WHOLE map that are road blocked by bosses. Spoilers obviously.
The Dragon Cave route to the Jagged Peak (accessed on the east plateau of the starting area where the suppression tower is). The South East Catacombs to the Shadow Valley (accessed by working backward from the flooded area of the Black Keep, back through the specimen hall, and by a ladder that goes down not far from the elevator at the end of the first area.) And unfortunately ONE major area, that is blocked by Commander Gaiuss (Which sucks cause while theres basically no content there you it rewards you with 5 fragments)
Two of those are fairly manageable minibosses, and everywhere else is totally accessible. You can get to the Altus area by going south east and unlocking a spring to the back of the fort on the cliff. You can get to the coast by going south at that same fork. You can get to the bonny village, Manus Cathedral, and Black Keep back entrance through the destroyed city on the Altus. You can get to the west ravine through a cave by the lake in Altus, and you can get to the ancient ruins once again by using the back entrance to the black keep and the elevator to the bridge is right next to the first floor grace in the specimen hall. And the area to the North East just needs the O Mother gesture you can get in Bonny Village to get past the statue to the right of the grace just before Gaiuss
I think thats pretty damn cool and satisfying even if I don't necessarily love the scadu fragments or how the DLC was balanced, finding all these cryptic routes was definitely the funnest part about the DLC in my opinion.
also upper belurat which is blocked by the saint of the bud and requires you to defeat messmer to activate.
Its awesome. You can be so op for dancing lion and rellana if you know where all the scadoodle fragments are
Thanks Chrightt!
❤ your work
It's "Revered" not "Reverend". But yeah I like this change a lot, and thanks as always for bringing us the numbers under the hood.
LMAO I didn't even realize. 🤣
I've been waiting for a break down like this before I started using the fragments. It's nice to know what the break points are to better tune my difficulty to my liking.
Perfect,! I am fighting the last boss and am level 18 shadow realm blessing.
Good to know it's the exact same as 20 was before.
Though I only ever get him to like 30% hp. so maybe I do need the extra blessing.
ever the hero of my gaming world.
Hey Chrightt, love the videos as always. Was wondering if you plan on doing a video breaking down the new parry frames on all parry tools. I'm especially curious on if it has affected the parry ash of war on weapons, as well as if any new weapons have different parry frames (main gauche).
Finished the DLC at Skadoosh level 19. After seeing the numbers, I'm glad I didn't stress over the last level.
Final boss didn't get the email 😂😂
My 2 handed occult Great stars do almost 1400 Ar.. On top of that comes the new 2 handed talisman that performance boost does not show up in the stats menu for whatever reason.
Result is around 1600 AR. With these high numbers buffs and talisman make a big difference.
Shit my Lance did 1600 without the spear talisman.
Gaius enjoyers eating good
Now, they say the DLC is difficult but we still have weapons that deal percentage damage.
It might not work on the giant fire constructs, but it sure works on everything else.
And then we also have the mimic health steal build, if you're personally not interested in fighting. :3
A breakdown on the parry changes when?
You can actually get A LOT more than 10 scadudu fragments before fighting a boss (cause Rellana is optional, you can skip her via spiritspring). In fact, you can get all the way up to Scadudu blessing level 10.
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON THE NEW PARRY FRAMES
blue skidoo you can too!
Hey chrightt, dyou have any information on what the blood splash on the.bloodfiemd arms R2 attack is doing? The eneny briefly gets a bright red blood drip effect when it lands.
I like "reverend" spirit ash cause it could be referring to the character those statues are depicting, but it's definitely "revered" spirit ash
Do the fragments affect pvp and invasions in the dlc?
Hey Chrightt! I had a question about one of the new weapons that I'm hoping to ask you! Sorry to post it here on an unrelated video, I'm just trying to catch you while you're hopefully still reading comments.
There is a new weapon in the DLC called the Death Knight's Longhaft Axe. In the base game, the regular Longhaft Axe uniquely has higher innate poise for hyper-armor than any of the other weapons in its class, 70 instead of 59. Do you happen to know if the DKLA has this same property? The similar name convention leads me to believe it might.
Literally thr first thing ill be doing when i get in there ia running and grabbing the weapons i can grab without fighting anyone, and grabbing all those first scadutree fragments i can get before the first boss. Then i can actually start the dlc lol
Oh chrightt-san, god of numbers, wouldst thou do a breakdown on numbers about all the new armors and talismans? They have so many passive effects and there's a ton of conflicting numbers around...
👍
I wanna hear about changes to quality the most. Is it significant? Is it much more viable? What weapons are affected?
All weapons are affected. From the few I've seen, most will still not run quality at 150 but I wouldn't be surprised if a few weapon scaled especially well to quality.
Most raw damage builds are either going to build for multihit buffs for fast weapons or stance pressure on heavies. Multihits are a little hard to do with some of these bosses just by nature of their attack timings and no amount of buffing can help that. Staggering enemies is powerful if you can keep the pressure, but very few of these bosses hitstun so its mostly about getting jump attacks when you can. I have no idea if Scadu Fragments affect poise damage so, but despite me being on NG+ I got staggers pretty reasonably, though I felt I had to trade often to get them considering a lot of bosses long combo strings.
@@UltravioletNomadyou can strafe most bosses if you unlock, youll get more attack opportunities. Honestly the lock on system is kind of a trap if you are good enough, you can go around an enemy way faster unlocked
I'm at level 200 after playing the DLC, would it be worth going for quality?
The damage I'm getting is quite good already.
Was this in a updated or something? I didn't see this
New Pvp Talisman and poise numbers when?
I shall dub it .... fhe Skadoodle tree . I like that better 😂
Big question: do scadutree upgrades effect invasions?
Will someone with 20 upgrades destroy a person with only a couple?
You scale to the host's level.
@@ChrighttAlso summons. I got considerable downleveled playing coop depending on the host
@@Chrightt thanks, good to know. I wanted to keep my scadutree level low for the challenge. I've been invaded by people with mid to late game weapons but it didn't seem too crazy. Glad it scales.
49 fragment to max out? If I'm not mistaken, 1+2*8+3*11=50?
Scadu (sha-doo or shadow) FYI
Is more Ng+ harder than non Ng from DLC scaling?
Someone said yes more Ng+ enemy hit harder but another one said that because from NG not from DLC (Non Ng still 2 shots killed like Ng+9)
Yes, NG+ is harder because of NG+ scaling not because of DLC scaling.
Beat it before buff. I can put that with pre nerf radahn on the wall of pointless achievements I have.
Well at least they didn't nerf the bosses. Also I don't understand the sentiment with finding the scadutree blessings. I beat the DLC at level 18 and I didn't have to search every nook and cranny for them
i think scadu is just said shado, like shadow
Why do they spell it with a c then 😢
i want all of your numbers
Where is my math wrong? You say you can get to +20 blessing with only 49 of the 50 fragments-making me wonder where I missed one because i hit +20 at the very last fragment (or what I thought was the very last fragment). But even double checking the math, it takes one fragment to reach +1, two for each level from +2 to +9 which is a total of eight levels, and three for each level afterwards which is a total of eleven levels. This comes to 1 + (2 x 8) + (3 x 11) = 50.
Wow anyone else skip the ingame explanation and are about 6 to 7 bosses defeated with no fragments?
I was at 6 stacks before the update and stopped turning them in
Might go for 7 because the number please my autistic brain 😂
@chrightt I've been seeing reports of bosses being nerfed in the dlc and enemies can you confirm that the bosses and enemies weren't changed?
the only change in 1.12.2 was to SpEffectParam for the Scadutree changes
They need to get optimized first
These particles from their 2 phase attacks stutter as hell
@@CryptidTracker nerd
just placebo after gaming news posted the patch made the dlc easier
@@Mineral4r7s I hope your right
47 minutes! Im late!!
do you know what exactly they changed about the NG+ stuff?
i hope they didn't make the game that much easier
i'm finally catching a break to play the game, only to find them patching it and making the experience more casual.
i've been literally killing every boss i fight from first or second encounter on lvl 200 NG+1
tbf in ng+7...this change means nothing
I'm ng+7 no defense matters, but that is why you signed up for
Bruh
It makes the game easier BUT it makes coop way less cancer. It takes the host's blessing level, not yours. So if you get summoned into someone who never bothered to get a couple fragments you'd get rekt without even knowing unless you check your stats
I was helping on the last boss last night and man, it went how you would expect. My build can kill him on 2 phantoms 90% of the time but as he phase transitions he spawns next to the host… they die before i can run up to them 75% of time lol
1:30
Its a matter of framing. You arent punished for not fully exploring, you just dont get the full buff.
Exploring is rewarded in a game where exploration is a key gameplay pillar. Shocked Pikachu face.
The game kinda sucks at open world tho
Don't get me wrong, the scenes and photography are amazing, but "open world" is just mashing circle for 3 minutes on torrent until you get to the actually well designed legacy dungeon
You can get to level 14 without killing a single boss
Apparently “scadu” was some old English spelling of “shadow” but f that. They’re skibidi dibidi fragibidi’s
"Shadow" not "Skadu" Its old english, which even my english teacher in highschool referred to as "Silly english"
I watch a streamer group who calls them "Scadooshes" though and I think that is also acceptable americana memery. Excellent vids as usual, very helpful, many thank you's!
It's Skibidi
Next up... the nerf to Fire Knight Greatsword R1R1 true combo, and the Swift Slash AoW.
And that new weapon ash that's a better Carian Grandeur
Rolling sparks is completely balanced too, twoshotting the final boss lol
i am not even here for the elden ring update, i just really love listening to your soft voice (no homo)
Damn the DLC was already easy and then they hit us with this crazy buff
Spirit ash shadowfarts buff torrent too no?
yeah
It's just prnounced ShadowTree. The crazy spelling is just Old English flavor.
What I find most difficult is figuring out how to actually get to each area. It's frustrating as heck.
scadu tree fragments are shit,
they needed to put some extra in like with the seeds
I was glad to have experienced Radahn on the base game before he got nerfed into the ground and im now glad to have experienced the DLC before these buffs...
but im yet to finish it, its just that im mentally unwell to the point of not using any Scadutree fragments to begin with hahahahahah
It's almost like you didn't watch the video, no changes were dome to Radahn and the Scadu fragment changes barely affect endgame.
@@killzone110ad It's almost like you didn't... actually, no, you literally did not read my comment...
I was referring to BASE GANE Radahn, not Promissed Consort!
As to the "barely affects endgame" part, what does that even have to do with my comment? Im not using ANY Scadutree fragments so even if it was a big difference it doesn't affect...
Smh.
@@vitorvena good luck with your no frag run since they are kinda the leveling system.
@@Dragostorm21 im losing my mind… but hey atleast Messmer’s moveset is forever burned into my mind.
@@vitorvena as a rl1 enjoyer learning a boss on such difficulty makes you hate yourself AND makes you never lose to them again.
I wish ppl would quit complaining and just play the game. They gonna ruin a MASTERPIECE. The absolute best DLC ever. Nothing is even close. Not even Bloodborne's. It's pathetic ppl cry out for better games. Then get one and then complain it's to hard. I mean WTF. Nothing but soft lil crybabies.
Saw so many people saying they didn't nerf the dlc and how it's only for early game fragments... so untrue and even if that was true they sitll nerfed the dlc for early game. some people lmao
what they need to do is fully rework the final DLC boss' 2nd phase. Honestly hot garbage
A slight delay on the nuke and less active frames on a few moves and hes totally fine.
Which is why its bad now lol
Skill issue
@@heraldfinch6058 sure man
@@heraldfinch6058 his double slice combo is literally undodgeable without deflect/backstep s, look up nohit runs on him. Its definitely needs lookimg into
I personally don't think this is a good change, and it especially diminishes repeat playthroughs as you have the additional game knowledge gained from your first playthrough along with damage and defense buffs. That endgame feeling of the dlc will be lost I feel and will basically just feel like an extension of the base game which is clearly not what they wanted to achieve with the DLC.
This won't be a problem because NG+ games have their own modifier that makes the game even harder. I also think that a lot of people jumped onto the DLC with their NG+ accounts so they die in a single hit to even smaller mobs since they don't have scadu levels.
@@Chrightt I know it's not an issue for NG+ but I never play NG+ I always make new characters and new builds, I find building my character very enjoyable, like going around the world finding my gear for my build and leveling up. But yeah I think people who started the DLC on NG+ probably had quite a difficult time.
@@DeCoR18 I play quite a lot coop and you just feel when you are in some NG+++ whatever game. Those fire ladies in the castle for example had over 14k health. That is elden ring base game boss HP.. It is crazy. With the patch you get 5% more power and defense at max level. It is hardly any difference. The big difference is at the mid levels 10 to 13 where the average players are. They get a 20% boost. Personally I dont feel it. Enemies that took 3 htis before the patch still need 3 hits. But for bosses it adds up. And defense is much higher.
You can just not use that many fragments on repeat runs if you want difficulty
stopped at lv7 before the patch, now fills like I'm OP AF after patch, basically they brick my dlc experience. They need make hotfix ASAP to able turn off and on ez mode lvls
I really think they failed us on this DLC. Mostly empty open world, weird upgrade mechanic, more of the same anime boss design making most players needing to cheese, and a very bizarre incestual plot. They use to have esoteric metaphysical plots.
So its just more of the same of the base game, sign me up im in!
I blame the incestual plot on GRRM
Couldn’t disagree more. Those who take the time to explore and fight all enemies should 100% be rewarded fir their time and effort. And those who don’t take the time and effort to explore, should absolutely expect to be gimped by said impatience, laziness, lack of curiosity etc..
And btw, you’re mispronouncing “Scadutree”
Phonetically it’s pronounced “shah-doo-tree”
I got to Scadutree level 19 and I still agree with this change, if nothing else because it will make replays of the DLC less tedious. A lot of the fragments are in out of the way areas which hold no real gameplay value after the first playthrough, and I just want to fight the bosses again.
🤷♀️ It's the proportional reward that doesn't make sense. An open world game is meant so that you can explore it. It doesn't mean that you *must* explore everything. In the reverse manner you are punished for exploring and stumbling upon a boss because you haven't cleared out the entire previous zone of shadow tree frags then that too is a faulty design, one which they've realized they've punished players too hard on it. There is no freedom when "everything" is what you must do.
@@Chrightt you sound so beaten down by the DLC lol. Stumbling into an unanticipated difficult boss fight is souls 101. You can always come back to that area later. Or maybe once you beat that boss, he will drop a weapon, spell, talisman, new mechanic etc.. that will make a huge difference in overcoming the punishing nature of the dlc. Just seems like many Elden Ring gamers are so broken by the DLC at this point that they’re complaining about core souls mechanics which is crazy to me.
You explore, you get stronger, you get better, you win. You’re basically saying “I don’t want to explore because I might stumble into something I can’t handle and that’s going to make this punishing experience even more painful. No thanks, I’ll pass. Just give me a linear path to progression so I can get as powerful as possible as quickly as possible.
Not trying to strawman ur position but that’s genuinely what it sounds like.
i managed to get to around level 16-17 without looking up where any fragments were, and got to 19 with a bit of research, but needing 49/50 fragments to get to level 20 is just too little room for error, theres more than enough golden seeds around the the base game to max our the flask and have a few left over, but the same isnt true of the fragments. i think they probably shouldve had just a few more fragments here and there so getting to level 20 doesnt require following a guide to get basically every single fragment in the entire DLC.
@@skipjacks85having to explore literally every isn't good design. He isn't complaining about the "explore to get stronger" part, he is complaining about the "explore literally everything to get stronger"
