This is a tough intro. Here’s an unsolicited suggestion: Take off the word “podcast”. This is a show! A production. Podcast puts it in a box. I’m happy to see a show like this, for us by us.
@@ghettorunways thank you for receiving the suggestion, it came from a place of love. I’m glad UA-cam recommended this show. Like finally finally there’s a space where we see our voices and pov on fashion and culture being heard unfiltered. We gotta show up for this show y’all. Run them numbers up.
@@ghettorunways1000% agree! We need this space! Hope to see some more taste making trailblazers like Push, but also some individuals who are up & coming in the fashion arena. It’s hard to break through all the noise but a show like this could really bring notoriety to some of these young designers who for whatever reason (most of the time skin color) wouldn’t get a second look. Imagine if names like Virgil, Telfar, Martine Rose, Christopher John Rogers, Heron Preston, Mowalola Ogunlesi, Kerby Jean-Raymond, Don C, Aurora James or Jerry Lorenzo had a platform like this 15 years ago. A space like this show would have propelled streetwear, high fashion inspired by us & more than likely our entire culture as well by inspiring more of us to take that leap into this world. You guys could be responsible for breaking careers… No pressure or nothing 🤣
Push is legendary! As a girl from VA who has lived in Chicago for a decade, it warms my heart seeing Virginia and Chicago favs come together through genuine admiration 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I would LOVE a Teyana Taylor episode. She doesn’t get her flowers enough. A original unique soul in fashion. Pick her brain about accessories and etc! Another amazing episode. This podcast is needed in the black community!
Pusha and Pharrell have always been 2-3 years ahead of damn near every fashion trend in the culture period for almost 20 years now iykyk they always rhyme a brand or a styling that everyone catches onto later but by then they on to the next lol.
Man Zo AL and Dane been murdering this fashion shit for many years. Divine on North Ave you had to be there. The Pusha episode is just a full circle moment! These guys been the illest!!
Pharrell and The Clipse influenced all that influenced today: BAPE, Supreme, Off White, Fear Of God, Adidas, Yeezy. Clipse came in, first video with the throwback ABA Jerseys. Which probably came from the Philly connection. That’s the Mitchell N Ness promised land. Off White / Pyrex was named after Pusha’s verse on the first Lil Wayne diss - “Mr. Me Too.” Trukfit stole Pharrell whole style, including the mascot. Virgil himself said his whole style was Pusha T verses, Michael Jordan, and Black Nerd-culture. Pharrell had the first LV collection, before KanYe and Virgil. The Watch collection, with actual commercials. You never seen a HipHop head with an LV commercial before that or after that lol. KanYe flew the Clipse out to the LV Headquarters in Europe to perform their entire 1st album inside, for his Birthday. That’s before MBDTF. Fear Of God mixtape dropped when Jerry Lorenzo was still a fellow intern with KanYe. DipSet, Jim Jones already admit they took style from Pharrell, they had never even seen coats like that before P. And they definitely jumped on the BAPE wave 2 years after. NIGO was traveling the world trying to find any jeweler that had made something for The Clipse or Pharrell. Rihanna and all these celebs definitely got onto Salomon because of Pusha T. Drake started rapping, rapping Clipse verses in the mirror. This is on When I Was 16, on MTV. Drake jumps on anybody Pusha stood next to before they blew up: Travis Scott, Future, Popcaan. C’mon now… taste level shxt
