Please keep it up! Just started playing, and your videos are so clear and concise, and you’re so good at explaining how things work. I was just sad when I realized there weren’t that many.
Amazing tutorial! One issue I found with the 1.0 update... The Fuel-Power Generators need to have their clock speeds changed to 60%/150MW. They changed the output and input amounts.
Thanks for pointing that out, didnt realised it. But you can also just use 5 Fuel-Power-Generator and have 1 running at 80% Clockspeed (If your are not making packed fuel, you can just use 5 of the Fuel Power-Gernerator). This saves some materials. The System should work fine with this setup.
@@Danny191 Probably, before the update you needed 8 Gens now you need only 5 (with one set to 80% if you do packed fuel). They Changed the Input and output. In Update 0.8 the input was 12 Fuel per minute. 12 x 8 = 96 and the other 4 from the packaged Fuel = 100 Fuel per minute. In the Update 1.0 the input is now 20 Fuel per minute! Now you need 4 gens running at 100% and one on 80% 4 x 20 = 80 80 + 16 (16 from the one underclocked to 80%) = 96 Fuel per minute and the other 4 from the packaged Fuel = 100 Fuel per Minute. This should work other wise look if you are producing 100 Fuel per Minute and check if your rubber and plastic isnt cloging up your system. Make some containers to store a bunch and then you can sink the rest if you want.

I spent a while this morning learning more about head lift and found out that my under-floor loading of fluids is the problem. Looking forward to redesigning it and removing this issue. Thanks for the GREAT guide. I'm a about to tackle a huge oil-fired fired power plant on the west coast. :)
Finally upgraded my PC and thought I'd get back into satisfactory now that I can more than 20fps at mid game! Thanks to you, you made this process a whole lot less stressful to figure out!

In the 1.0 update: To power 8 generators consuming 20 fuel per minute each (totaling 160 fuel/min), the 3 machines producing 40 fuel/min each (totaling 120 fuel/min) are insufficient without overclocking. By overclocking one machine to produce 80 fuel/min, the total production becomes 160 fuel/min (80 + 40 + 40), matching the generators' needs. So, overclocking one machine allows the 3 machines to supply all 8 generators. This means: in the step 1 he put one machine to underclock, remove the underclock so all machines produce 40, then overclock 1 (USING THE "S" THAT ALLOWS TO DOUBLE PRODUCTION, NOT INCREASING THE OVERCLOCK ITSELF) Now all machines requiere 60 heavy fuel, for a total of 180, but our machines only produce 150, to fix this we need to overclock 2 machines (USING THE "S" AGAIN), first we overclock 1 plastic machine, then we overclock 1 Rubber machine, that will give us the 180 we need I also recommend disconnecting the tube that connects to the 'Packaged Fuel' and reconnecting it after the 'industrial fluid tank'. I also recommend overclocking to the maximum the two machines that produce 'Packaged Fuel', this time using the power from the slugs. This way, a lot of Packaged Fuel will be produced to the point that the chest will fill up quickly every time we take from its inventory, and the fuel ratio will remain the same since the accumulated fuel in the industrial fluid tank will be used. This recommendation is completely optional, and if you don’t have enough resources, you can ignore it entirely
Hello!! I just saw your comment by chance! I was getting crazy trying to figured it out... Why he was insisting on producing only 100m3 of fuel when the all 8 fuel gens consume way more than that. Thanks a lot for pointing it out it doesn't work on update 1.0
@@emico4501 Hello! it does work with just some slight overclocks, investing the 3 "S" upgrades i mentioned isnt that expensive, the design will work as intended and you dont need to build anything else to fix it
You said to overclock 2 of the Refineries making Heavy Oil at the cost of 1 S in a plastic and one S in a Rubber however that would only gain us 15 Heavy Oil/m (Plastic is 10/m at default with S 15/m and rubber is 20/m default 30/m with S) so we'd still be 15 short unless we used 2 in each of those machines unless I'm mistaken
@@AldyDerg-bd9uc Hmm it was only giving me 1.5x bonus not 2x with a single S unless I'm misunderstanding something (I only have 50 hours and just did oil for the first time so its entirely plausible that I have made a mistake)
Really great video and much better than every other satisfactory content creator. Very easy to follow and no time wasted, only the important parts are shown. Keep it coming, these are great!
I think I've figured out how to do this exact set up in 1.0. It will need a total of 6 somersloops (excluding the ones you needed to get the 300 oil per minute for the Oil Extractor). I prefer thinking in desired result>how Im getting that result because it makes it easier for me to understand what I need to do and how I can get it. 8x Fuel Power with one underclocked to 80% need 156 fuel per min + 4 min for package- 160 fuel per min 3 refineries producing fuel, both at 100% and 1 with 2 "S" produce 160 fuel per min The 3 refineries use 180 heavy oil residue The 10 refineries produce 180 heavy oil residue- to do this you need to modify the plastic refineries. Adjust 1 refinery with 2 "S" and clock it to 75%. Add 2 "S" to 1 plastic refinery and leave at 100%. This will cause the 5 plastic refineries to produce 50 heavy oil residue, the unchanged 3 rubber refineries will produce 60 heavy oil residue, the adjusted 75% 2x "S" rubber refinery will produce 30, and the 100% 2x "S" will produce 40. The 10 refineries producing plastics and rubber total use is 292.5 oil. So you can underclock to meet that if you'd like. Leave a comment if it worked or not😀
I just started playing around Christmas and your layout guides have been invaluable. Keep up the good work and please keep going with some more layout guides and tips!
I love these videos. I need more lol. It’s getting confusing with so many things to keep building at the tier 5 and 6 stage. I would really love some videos about the machine that uses 3-4 different items to build one item. Keep up the good work
I loved this guide and how you split it into phases. I built all 3 phases and found myself low on fuel for my fuel generators. I'm not sure if its because of an update or any changes but my main issue was not having enough crude oil to supply all 10 refineries. I just decided to add a second oil extractor that hooks into the last 5 of my refineries. That solved all my problems. Hope this helps someone else!
As a follow up to this, I now realize that crude oil deposits come in pure and normal forms. The pure forms literally double your output. So when you place an extractor for this factory you need to have a pure crude oil deposit or 2 normal deposits.
Love your guides. I made this last night. Watched this video a few times makins sure I followed it correctly. Been trouble shooting why 4 of my fuel generators are not getting enough fuel to operate.
Another great tutorial. You're my go to for satisfactory stuff man. Keep it up. You're super clear and succinct. You can see how much people are flocking to this.
Really well-made guide. Made transition to oil smooth as butter. I centralize everything & unfortunately the pure oil patch was like 2 km from my base but I'm planning to use the train in the future to bring the goods in. Because of that I'm wrapping my head around the computer production. Seems like you need buttload of plastic, like way more than I'm currently producing. If my calculations are correct, for 5 computers per minute (2 manufacturers, 7 assemblers with one underclocked I'm going to need 290 plastic per minute - That's crazy!
Quick suggestion: when you use two numeric values in columns x rows, it can get a litte bit confusing when explaining or even saying it out loud. I'd suggest using numbers and letters, like in chess. So you can be more precise and feels more natural to say it too! Awesome guide, loved how you divided them into phases and this is a big transition that can frustrate a lot of us!
Excellent build brother! Confirmed it still works in update 8, with the help of two additional pumps; One between the fuel buffer and generators, and also one between the oil extractor and the input manifold on the row of 10 refineries. Also, the oil extractor should be overclocked to 125% to match the 300 input of the combined 10x refineries. With some careful pipe and belt maneuvering, I was able to make the design slightly more compact. Mine is occupying a 16x17 foundation space.
Now in the 1.0 the Oil Generators need more Fuel, from 12 to 20, u can get 5 of them working with this guide instead of 8 or have 4 working and the fuel cans, thanks for the guide!
Could you shoot something like a perfect layout for the rotor factory or the same just for the modular blocks? That would help me a lot. I build my world from your layouts and even though I think I understand how it works, I would like to take a look at these more complex recipes such as rotors or modular blocks.
great guide, just a little thing that would help me as a noobie a lot is to know how many materials are required for it. since it is far from my main base i would have to gather it all in one time
I do a similar setup but I use the larger fluid buffers for the fuel so there are less trips to flush the system. To the left of the storages, I also set up drone ports when drones become available and can then fly the rubber and plastic to where I need it. Trucks work well, too. Edit: You did mention upgrading to the larger buffers later on
Love your videos! I just did this last night and it does not work at first because I didnt realize you underclocked the packager haha! Great content!! Looking forward to many more!
If you dont under clock the packager though would that stop you having to flush the buffers all the time? My oil rig is ages away from the rest or my setup
I'd be curious to see how you would do it with a logistics floor. I'm attempting it modifying this guide as required, but it can be tedious at times. BTW. Thanks for these videos.
Really enjoy your work! Your video is very helpful when starting out in this wonderful game! Great ideas on how to start my factory builds. Would love to see how you did your production floor for the oil layout.
this got recommended to me almost on the DAY that I jsut setup my first oil setup, and I haven't even watched satisfactory videos in a long while. HOW DID THE ALGORITHIM KNOW?
This video really helped me understand the creation of oil and fuel. Very, very, nicely done. You have another follower my good Sir. Thank You for making this game really enjoyable.
If you just turn oil into fuel you can send the polymer resin into the sink. you get more electricity that way too and less headache. then just work on plastic and rubber later.
The new Fuel-Powered Genertators need 20m³/min and produce 250mw. ill setup 5 with the last one undercloked to 80 %. THen everything runs fine again. Nice guide btw
Great video. Could you make a video about how to make a basic steel parts setup or a modular frame setup. Your videos are very easy to understand and I hope you will continue.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.. have a sub. honnestly this game is soo beyond my math comprehension and oil production has been a killer for me. thanks for a wonderful guide
I’ve just unlocked fuel generators so this is going to be my next power project 😂 I might have the generators on top and have the fuel come up from a lower floor, just to have it nice and compact
Quick suggestion: It would be very nice if you were to add all the necessary ingredients or total amounts of buildings that the setup uses so that it's easier to prepare all the materials in your inventory before going 1000 miles out of your factory to build it all. Found myself running back and forth all the time when i miss some of the materials, other than that, amazing tutorial, much love!
possible solution: I have a central 4x4 platform for hypertubes. at each corner/Point of interests (of the factory), i have mini hypertubes platforms, some connecting to other corners and connecting floors. aside from funneling all of my products to a storage area, it helps having access to it all in a concentrated area
Maybe I'm just not far enough along in my own progress, but I would like to know how you managed to float above your factory. You have a point of view in building out this petroleum plant that I don't know how to achieve.
Been doing a few of your guides and I've been quite happy, so imagine my disappointment when I just finished the fuel stage and realized "Rubber isn't made from just oil anymore"
This is actually the best guide i've seen about oil, wich is complicated, honestly. The only problem for a newbie like me, just reached oil unlocked, is getting 300 MW on a total of 900 actually produced from my coal plant. I suppose i can start with a couple of refinery, produce some things and try to upgrade the milestones. Still, an excellent video, with the squares where to put the things explained. Thank you so much for your work. Just one curiosity please, what you use to fly? it's the regular jetpack or one of the Mod who allows you to fly? i'm trying to play totally vanilla, without using mods, wich made the positioning a real hell. I totally understand for the purpose of a video is absolutely more clear and easy (and to make the video short) to show the build to the top.
Why do you need to add a pump prior to the packager? Wouldn't either the refineries or the fuel storages provide enough head lift to push the fuel into the packager?
i hate to say it but this just doesnt work. idk whats wrong with it. the 8 generators werent getting enough fuel so i cut off 4 of them. and this setup even failed to keep 4 generators going.
I’m finishing up 2 new vids. I was sick before Christmas last year then I had a planned vacation out of the Country before I even started making these videos. But I’m back now and should start seeing vids come out again :). ❤️
If you read this and plan on recreating this: It is not neccesary to underclock the third refinery if you can live with a little less plastic. Leave it as it is, instead turn up packed fuel prodution from 4 to 24. If you do this, you will use up all 120 Fuel produced with no left overs, get a bit more fuel but suffer a minor loss of plastics for canister production.
The reason we underclock is because we don’t supply enough heavy residual oil to supply 3 refineries of fuel. Leaving the third one not underclock although technically works, won’t work at 100% efficiency and you won’t be producing more fuel, it’ll still be 100 fuel but machines will turn on and off making things less efficient.
@@spectrumdad_ i understand your math and it is correct but for some reasson, once my pipes were filled to max compacity i was able to run everything at 100% with no machines stopping or drop in production. I assume that, since pipes mk1 hold 300 units of heavy residual oil, running the third refinery at full capacity taps into the "overflow" in the pipe system, which in turn fills up fully to 300 maximum fast enough to not deplete. Either that or i bugged it out somehow. Maybe the timings off somewhere in the productionline, cant for the life of me see where since the math checks out but i built your setup twice, hooked it up to a fully overclocked oilpump and am yet to run into an issue.i run the game unmodded, so cant be a mod either. I'll keep an eye on it but so far it works.
@@SunWoodMC yes that is most likely what happened, but overtime it will get rid of that overflow. It's not really a big deal, you will just notice less output at some point but you might not notice it too much if you aren't looking for it.

@@Psyberius With the "S" you get double production, not 1.5 production, so you would get 20 heavy oil for plastic and 40 heavy oil for rubber
@@AldyDerg-bd9uc Hmm it was only giving me 1.5x bonus not 2x with a single S unless I'm misunderstanding something (I only have 50 hours and just did oil for the first time so its entirely plausible that I have made a mistake)
Learn something new every day. I didn't know you could hotbar customizer presets.
8x Fuel Power with one underclocked to 80% need 156 fuel per min + 4 min for package- 160 fuel per min
3 refineries producing fuel, both at 100% and 1 with 2 "S" produce 160 fuel per min
The 3 refineries use 180 heavy oil residue
The 10 refineries produce 180 heavy oil residue- to do this you need to modify the plastic refineries.
Hope you have more guides coming soon! theyre incredibly helpful for understanding the basic layouts!
I love these videos. I need more lol. It’s getting confusing with so many things to keep building at the tier 5 and 6 stage. I would really love some videos about the machine that uses 3-4 different items to build one item. Keep up the good work
Thanks! I plan on making videos for that for sure!
thank you so much for making this. i was struggling hard trying to figure out oil and this solved everything
@@whisstler also over clocking it seems to fix any hiccups
Love your guides. I made this last night. Watched this video a few times makins sure I followed it correctly. Been trouble shooting why 4 of my fuel generators are not getting enough fuel to operate.
Figured it out. I forgot to set the packager to 4 per min.
Great video again! An steel guide would be great
Thanks! Yep I’ll do one.
Why does the beginning of this video sound like a multi level marketing campaign?
Idk, but I'm sold.
Love your stuff man!! Keep on keeping on!
Thanks :). Glad you enjoy my content!
This is such a great game, but its tough to learn. So pleased I came across your video, love how you present your content - thank you.
Yea it's nuts. Always need more Plastic ! :)
HI Men! It's amazing how you explain all! Thanks for the simplicity
definitly a usefull video i build this yesterday and am happy with results keep up the good content
Awesome Guide! Thank you for this very easy to understand guide of rubber and plastic !
As a player on the spectrum I love the guide and appreciate how straightforward it is to follow ∞
Glad you enjoyed it ❤️
Quick suggestion: when you use two numeric values in columns x rows, it can get a litte bit confusing when explaining or even saying it out loud. I'd suggest using numbers and letters, like in chess. So you can be more precise and feels more natural to say it too!
Awesome guide, loved how you divided them into phases and this is a big transition that can frustrate a lot of us!
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it :)
Nice, glad you got it to work. I did also manage to make it more compact in a play through myself. It's hard to show compact builds in guides though.
Now in the 1.0 the Oil Generators need more Fuel, from 12 to 20, u can get 5 of them working with this guide instead of 8 or have 4 working and the fuel cans, thanks for the guide!
This video is super well made, really informative and gave great tips on how to set oil up well. Thankyou for the awesome vid!
You are a gentleman and a scholar.
These video's will definitly help new player learn how these things work and let the progress further into the game. Great video, keep it up :)
Thanks :)
Awesome guide for a new player like me! Loved that you split it up in phases and great explanation of things!
Excellent and helpful video! Thanks for the walkthrough!
Edit: You did mention upgrading to the larger buffers later on
very good just did this both with the coal generators and this in the northern Forest. but in u8 seems to work with this too, great work dude
This is the best channel i ever see doing tutorials keep doing them like this!!
Its insane how the game became that much complex in just one phase, im just lost af
Love your guides; thank you for sharing them. :)
Love your videos! I just did this last night and it does not work at first because I didnt realize you underclocked the packager haha! Great content!! Looking forward to many more!
Thanks, glad you found the problem !
If you dont under clock the packager though would that stop you having to flush the buffers all the time? My oil rig is ages away from the rest or my setup
@@MetaDataAutomation most likely. But you can’t forget to underclock it when you put the fuel generators in or you are going to have a bad time :)
Concise, easy to follow. Subscribed!
😨
This video really helped me understand the creation of oil and fuel. Very, very, nicely done. You have another follower my good Sir.
Thank You for making this game really enjoyable.
Glad I was able to help :)
Awesome tutorial, thank you! 🤜🤛
UPDATE 1.0 : Fuel generators now use 20m3/min so place five of them (100/20=5)
amazing guide and explanations. As a newbie on satisfactory, you made my experience really satisfactory ;)
Hi! Thx for your tips and layouts they are very usefull!!! You're amazing!!
Great video. Could you make a video about how to make a basic steel parts setup or a modular frame setup. Your videos are very easy to understand and I hope you will continue.
Many thanks! Gonna be my very next project 😀👍🏻
Thank you very much
Thank you, thank you, thank you.. have a sub. honnestly this game is soo beyond my math comprehension and oil production has been a killer for me. thanks for a wonderful guide
I’ve just unlocked fuel generators so this is going to be my next power project 😂 I might have the generators on top and have the fuel come up from a lower floor, just to have it nice and compact
That works :)
What do I do when the fuel for the generators is not getting to all of the generators?
Great video hope to see some more factory guides soon
Your videos are brilliant thank you.
10500 Subs Congrats!
Thanks, you are a great help :)
Thanks :) Glad you found this helpful!
Of note: Refineries have a 10m head lift. You shouldn't need the pump for the packager in phase 2.
This video was awesome!
Maybe I'm just not far enough along in my own progress, but I would like to know how you managed to float above your factory. You have a point of view in building out this petroleum plant that I don't know how to achieve.
Been doing a few of your guides and I've been quite happy, so imagine my disappointment when I just finished the fuel stage and realized "Rubber isn't made from just oil anymore"
it is
This is actually the best guide i've seen about oil, wich is complicated, honestly.
It’s the pak utility mod. Later on the hover pack will do the same.
@@spectrumdad_ Thank you very much!
yo this is a super good video, thanks dude
Super vid , very good showing how to , gj. Thx
Why do you need to add a pump prior to the packager? Wouldn't either the refineries or the fuel storages provide enough head lift to push the fuel into the packager?
trying to get this all self powered... is proving to be very difficult.
i hate to say it but this just doesnt work. idk whats wrong with it. the 8 generators werent getting enough fuel so i cut off 4 of them. and this setup even failed to keep 4 generators going.
Hey Bro thanks for all the Guides they are simple and get the job done! When will you do next Guides? Are you busy right now we miss you!❤
I’m finishing up 2 new vids. I was sick before Christmas last year then I had a planned vacation out of the Country before I even started making these videos. But I’m back now and should start seeing vids come out again :). ❤️
No Stress bro you and your Family come first and than the rets hope your vacation was great and im hyped about your new videos😁❤️
Thank's a lot for that ! Great Work and thank you for taking the time to make these videos ! :D (Sorry for my English i'm french ^^' )
Thanks! (Don’t have to be sorry for that, I’m also French :P)
You're not really French right ? ^^' (you're English it's to perfect and without our "Beautiful" accent when we speak in english xD )
@@mystiikviiper8283 it’s because I’ve been fully bilingual since birth. But my English wife still makes fun of me from time to time :P
@@spectrumdad_ So you have a layout to speak a perfect English, as a French guy ? Haha
@@mystiikviiper8283 🤣I would be famous if I did.
I haven't unlocked oil yet so this will be a good start!
Hope it helps you when you do! :)
Hello mate i enjoy your tutorials they are great can you do more Like heavy modulars frames etc bcs it would be good really helpful for me and other people
