I just got back from my Ecuador trip. Drove all around the country with my mountainbike. Cuenca to Cajas to Quito, Banos and Tena and Misahualli, Quito , Cotopaxi, and Galapagos, Santa Cruz, and Isabela. Amazing country and I loved the mountain biking and fresh food.
Wow how did you do that? Well, I know some people that are into that, however it never ceases to amaze me , you know, the roads are long and mountains high!
Did you do ¨camino del Inca Capa ñan¨ (Inca´s trail coastal branch) from the province of Cañar to Naranjal in Guayas? I´d love to walk and run over there

(At least as much as I expected, obviously based on what I saw in your videos.) Apart from everything said ... I wonder what you can not do in the US that you can do in Ecuador. Hiking, canoeing, churches, beach, mountains, old cities, food. All can be done in the US. Of course the Galapagos islands is a different story. But hot humid weather of the rain forest unless you are a botanist, but other than that. I don't see why go there.
One of the issues I have with Ecuador is the Catholic religion inflitrating every aspect of people's lives. The lies these priest vocalize to the population is disgusting. Another issue I have with Ecuador is the abysmal school system, specially in the rural areas. the 1% of the owners do not want an educated population and bribe government officials to eliminate quality education. Corruption in Ecuador is no different than that of Mexico, however, being a smaller country, the impact of official misconduct affects every living Ecuadorian. To obtain any type of document one has to bribe everyone. I used to work for a company that wanted to open a branch in Ecudaor in the Guayas province. The amount of bribes and whom they had to be paid, finally was the straw that my bosses decided to abandon the project. The project would have employed about 2,000 Ecuadorians with a living wage, yet the corrupt officials pracitcally derailed the program. The last thing I want to write is please do not go to the Galapagos Island. Tourism has destroyed the ecology. Please do not go there, I know there are restrictions on how to behave in the Galapagos, and that is because tourist have destroyed the natural resources of the Galapagos.
Just wanted to say you look young and healthy! Thanks for the great Ecuador overview.

i LEFT too much info. So deleted it, after watching your awful experience being robbed by gun point. Oh dear. Still coming though.
The thing is that he is just talking about his experience, only what he did or what he liked there but there are more activities to do
One of the issues I have with Ecuador is the Catholic religion inflitrating every aspect of people's lives.
